Well, having recently just conquered crochet I have decided that I'm going to crochet my own hat for the school run. It will be a owl hat too. I have a sense of humour. The yummymummies at the school gates look me up and down in my wellies, even though they're Hunters circa 2007. It's my way of sticking my defiant fingers up at them because I'm fed up of it now. I'll show you when I'm finished :)

I'm using stylecraft chunky, really reasonably priced too

I have decided to set myself a monthly yarn budget so I can start to build up my stock. Obviously I will buy on a project basis but there are some little bits that I want to make that will require a lot of diff colours. Oh the joy!

wow that sounds fantastic! I want to on holiday to the states just to get some light up hooks, must get a passport sorted first :rotfl:

Rummer, do you mind me asking where you purchase your yarn from? I think a monthly budget sounds like a great idea :)

I will try and add a picture of the finished owl hat later. I am trying to finish a sackboy for dh for xmas and I want to attempt a moshi monster for dd but don't have a pattern yet.

is anyone else still working on projects for xmas?

    I love Lucy's Attic24 blog. Anyone who crochet's has to have a look ;)

Me, I'm still on with a panda hat for DD. Knowing how much she appreciates what I make for her its going to be a bit sad her thinking the panda hat I'm lovingly creating for her came from santa...... never mind, as long as she loves it :)

I am still working on xmas presents. I CAN NOT get a hat right for my niece. Have made it 3 times so far and its still not right. Thinking of changing the wool for it now. Does anyone know of a pattern for a toddler hat in super bulky wool?
