Hi all, I know this is a long shot, but I got this gift free with my subscription (which I've now cancelled), I keep starting it then pulling it out then starting it again.

Anyway, it's been on the coffee table in my shared flat for ages and I went to start it again (as I'm off sick from work) and I can't find the pattern. I've looked all over the place and can't find it anywhere. I was wondering whether anyone would have this and would mind either posting or PMing me the four rows that make up the pattern?

Many many thanks in advance! If I can't finish it after so long I might go a bit loopy :)

Hi there everybody and well done on your creations, they are great! I do blankets mainly and give them away to new mums mainly. I will try and get some piccies up soon.

The best investment I made was to purchase the knitting and crochet encylopedia. I bought from am*zon Although Im still doing square blankets, I have practised a lot of stitches. It took me ages at first, just couldnt get the hang of it. I found going y*u tube, and that book a great help.

Persevere its so rewarding, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when somebody really appreciates the time and effort you put in.

  • Hi guys, hoping someone will be able to sort me out! I'm making a bunny rabbit, down to the last bits but the pattern is calling for a 'slstdec' or slip stitch decrease. I have no idea how to do this stitch, I've googled but to no avail. If anyone can explain how to do this, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Ps. I found the pattern for the scarf I was looking for :)
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

this is what i would do for a slstdec

hook through next stitch, wool over, pull through stitch (2 loops on hook) hook through the next stitch, wool over pull through, (3 loops on hook) and pull that last loop through the other 2 loops so you are left with the last wool over on your hook.

that is the way i would do it, as to me it reads as an american slip stitch decrease.

thanks for the name corkscrew when i was looking for 'curls' i couldntt find anything on you tube as i was searching wrong hahaha... i knew they where easy but just couldnt remember for the life of me what it was i was to do.
i tried to send a pic to my account to then link here, but the stupid fone wouldnt do it :(

    Hi all

Carolinosourus is the hat pattern in The Art of Knitting? I have the first four issues but none of the extra gifts because I didn't subscribe but bought them in the shops.

One of my latest hats for my cousin who is due in May and only found out she was pregnant in Feb! (shes not a young thing either, has a 16 year old girl, but was/is steralised for 3 years now and going through stress of her mum having cancer, so didnt 'click' that she was pregnant.
have made mittens to match. looking for a simple shoe pattern and going to do a granny square blanket - 4 squares or rectangles and join them together i think.
both the flower and corkscrews can be taken off as ive tied them on instead of sewing on, then it can be used up until about 2 i think as a beany

keep up the good work everyone. :D
