Thanks dizzy. Now I've got over the initial shock I must admit I'm starting to feel a bit warm and fuzzy about it. It won't be easy for them but we and GF's mum will help them all we can. They have already been given a pram and a cot, so by the time the baby arrives they should be pretty well equipped. They won't be living with us (well DS will but GF is planning to still live at her mum's for the time being) but they've already claimed the spare room for when we have the baby.

Bang goes the peace and quiet we were looking forward to when the kids grew up!
Oh dear, here we go again.

    Hello everyone

I've recently taken up crochet again after many years....mainly inspired by Attic24, this thread and finding online wool shops! It was a godsend when I broke my ankle earlier this year and was more or less confined to the house for 3 months!

I love Lucy's (Attic24) use of colour and have made several cushion covers which now brighten up my lounge, I'm now working on a version of her Granny Stripe blanket (pics below).

(Apologies for the the quality of the pics, my mobile phone camera isn't the best but you get the gist ;))

This is a fantastic thread, I love seeing what everyone is making, thank you!
  • the pics are fantastic i love the makes my blanket is coming along very slowly as every time i sit to do some something happens or someone turns up lol so it may not be ready to grace my bed this side of xmas lol

    Loving the colourful pics!
I'm being rubbish in all of my other endeavours so far this month (as you can see on my signature), but on the positive side I've just finished my sausage doggy draught excluder, just in time for the dismal weather to set in! Two things I now need to do:
    1) Find out how to load pics, then I can show you.
    2) Stop the puppy from practising his 'moves' on the poor unsuspecting thing! I didn't think that one through!
And congratulations jennyjelly, that's truly special news! :o

Mythi - lovely crochet. I hope to get some piccies up soon. I am just sewing up my cushion which I managed to complete with just inches/cm of thread to spare.

I learnt with The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller which also has some great patterns in it but it is American, like most of the videos on youtube but that's fine by me :D It is really good used along with youtube to make sure you are doing it right.

Thank for that, I've learned via youtube but will check out the book, off to library tomorrow to see what they have!

I went to our local craft shop as I'm starting my granny blanket soon (when this cold goes) so have the materials to start!

    Lovely!

Your cushion is beautiful Bella, did you have a pattern for the squares (and is there a link?)

Bella that cushion is so lovely. I can't wait until I can make something worthy of posting - the mouse is so cute also!
