This thread is just too lustful for words, all of those wonderful things everyone is making! :T :T :T :T
I love to crochet so I hope no-one minds if I join in and share my projects with you too. I'll sorty out some pics of completed projects to post.
After almost a year of living out of boxes with occasional stray balls of yarn and a solitary No 4 hook. I allowed myself to unpack my yarn and hook stash this week. Oh heaven!
But after seeing all the bright and beautiful things here and on Attic24 I can feel a wool gathering urge coming over me. My little bag is finished now. My little bag is finished now.
Just dont know what to use it for.
Oh Wow! Artydoll, your bag is fab but the thing that really has me drooling is the blanket it is standing on, OMG that is drop dead gorgeous. Would you mind sharing the yarn/colour details please? :A
Edited to add - Aaahhh wait a minute, is that Rowan DK cotton? Oooh I hope so, I have some of that in my stash (and thats a very good excuse to go have another rummage)My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Woohoo I can crochet so I am looking forward to getting stuck into lots of these projects! I especially like the little ones that can be finished in an evening, or big ones where you can just plough on with the same comforting stitch. I am on with a blanket at the moment and have just finished some little white cotton flowers that I am going to treat to diluted PVA so that I can stiffen them up a bit, then dangle them from a thread in my window for Christmas, sort of Scandinavian style I suppose.:hello:  please play nicely children !0

You're so lucky to have someone teach you shysarah SOOO much easier than trying to work it out on your own, good job I'm unemployed eh with nothing to do but teach myself new crafts?! Make sure that you post some pictures though! :THey, still crocheting. Mum taught me to do a granny square on Sunday and I have now made myself 8 of which I am happy. Hopefully my sewing machine will turn up this week so I can start teaching myself how to work that!!!
Meanwhile I am still at work on my handbags but will need to order some new handles and work out how to line them once I get some fabric. Have also done some hexagons for a flower baby blanket which'll hopefully turn out nice, maybe I'll be able to finish something and post a picture this week. :beer:The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

I'm so excited :j:j I have 3 hexagons to add to my first blanket (I must have lost sight of sanity when I chose to make a hexagon blanket for my first project). I need to sew up a couple of edges here and there where I was forgetful but in all there's about 2 hours work maximum left. It's smaller than I would like it but hey I can add to it in time (yeah right ). I totally can't wait to finish it, wash it, photograph it and start something new. Something small I think but after this blanket, I'm sure I'll find anything enjoyable. Ooooh what to hook next ). I totally can't wait to finish it, wash it, photograph it and start something new. Where do you store your wool stash?
Mine is currently still in the big box I packed it in when I moved and it is fine there really, but....
I really :heartsmil my wool stash. The colours, the textures, yes, I need serious help . .
My stash needs a better home. For once in my life I have space for a craft area in a spare bedroom. I'm thinking something like CD shelves? Bookcase? Glass fronted display cabinet :rotfl:
So c'mon folks, where do you store your glorious wool stash? Piccies will be enviously drooled over My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I'll try and post a picture of my small square tomorrow if I remember!
Missed that about the smilles somewhere along the line, head has been in the sand for the last while, anyhoo......back to crochet.
 Ark, are you still crocheting?
I've still not cracked doing squares and do everything in the round like that one of Lucy's. There are so many projects that you can work like that. One day maybe I'll "get" how to do a square that looks like a square and not a pyramid, diamond or whatever. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Im afraid when you get to 50 your stash is so big it dominates the house! I have plastic tubs, carrier bags and shelves full of craft things but it pays off because Xmas last year was almost all made from what I had. I don't have a lot of wool left at the moment but thanks to Kemps - which you will all now google and look at the clearance lines:rotfl:- I do have a couple of bags ready for set projects. I took my Mum to Hobbycraft the other day and she was laughing at me cos I studiously avoided the wool aisle :T. My Dh says I can smell wool when we go to a new market or town and I was still upset 2 days after our recent holiday because I found a wool shop and got distracted and didnt go in.Clearing the junk to travel light

Ok, I'm going to try and show a picture of my blanket but I've only done this once before so hopefully it'll work. It was meant to be a proper sized blanket but it has turned into a lap warmer, which is really what I wanted I might add more to it when I get fed up of making other things, but my guess is, it will always be my first lap blanket. I can't make the picture go in here, I've tried using the earlier instructions but I have my dim head on today so here's the link, hopefully that will work.
