Kinkyjinks that's amazing! So so pretty - you have a really good eye for colour.
Well done!

Wow, loving the blankets, that looks like a lot of hard work kinkyjinks.
How did you join the squares together v8monkeyboy? I love the squares.0 -
Hi Mumoftwo
The squares were joined with trebles, alternating between each square if you know what I mean? I held two squares together, back to back, then chained 3 in the top right hand corner of the one closest to me, then put a treble stitch in the space opposite that on the other square. I find this easier to do than slip stitching the squares together, and I thought it looks better too0 -

Thank you so muchI have to confess that my MIL chose 2 (out of 3 :rotfl:) colours because the original colours I had were wrong (her words not mine lol). I love clashy bright colours myself. The picture doesn't really reflect the true colours, it's a kind of lilac, lemon and dusky pink. I'm equally impressed with your 'proper' sized blanket, when I make my next blanket it's going to be random squares. I LOVE the wool you've used in the first (left corner) square and assume it's the same as the 5th square too? What wool was that?

It was slightly hard work for a first make. I've hated it for a long time but now it's finished all the work was worth it. As well as a lap warmer it can double up as a shoulder warmerI'm thinking a hat might be a nice second project, or socks. Are socks hard to make because you need to get them the same size and I'm not at all confident I could do that.

And this was your first make??? I'm well impressed because I haven't got the time or patience to join things using slip stitch but couldn't work out how to join the squares, hence the 'Lucy' inspired hexagans which I could join as I work. I understand your explanation perfectly :A"Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

I might add more to it when I get fed up of making other things, but my guess is, it will always be my first lap blanket.
I can't make the picture go in here, I've tried using the earlier instructions but I have my dim head on today so here's the link, hopefully that will work.

Your blanket is amazing - I've been doing crochet for 40 years and would have been thrilled if my first attempt had been like yours!
Thank you very much.
