It won't be easy for them but we and GF's mum will help them all we can. They have already been given a pram and a cot, so by the time the baby arrives they should be pretty well equipped. They won't be living with us (well DS will but GF is planning to still live at her mum's for the time being) but they've already claimed the spare room for when we have the baby.
Bang goes the peace and quiet we were looking forward to when the kids grew up!
Sounds like they've got everything covered and being sensible about it too. Ooh jennyjelly you'll have the most wonderful times with baby when he/she comes along. I'm a young 'Nanna' too and although we don't get to see our GD that often when we do see her it's doubly precious

Our local libraries here on the Isle of Man have got a competition http://www.isleofman.com/news/article.aspx?article=29287 It says World Championship, but it seems to be only local. Anyway, I just wondered if any of you have any scrumptious looking fairy cake 'recipes' for me to crochet?! :rotfl:0

That looks like fun!
I saw something recently promoting a book or maybe an exhibition of a whole meal that had been crocheted. It looked fantastic! If I can find the link I'll add it to this post.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Here's a piccie of a blanket I made many years ago. Whilst on holiday I sat on a cliff top watching a friend do one of these. As I only had a scrap of yarn with me at the time I made a very small sample so that I could copy it when I returned home. It was made from all the leftover yarn I had from knitting the children's garments, except for the yellow which was a cone of knitting machine yarn which I picked up very cheap somewhere.

I'm not a new contributor, as such. Just a recent lurker. Crocheted a scarf this weekend from some Bliss wool which was lovely to work with. That's two in the Christmas present drawer.
What I would be really grateful for is a jumper pattern. A really simple one. I can do granny squares ad infinitum and a basic scarf but I've been given some wool and I'd like to try something bigger.
I've looked at free pattern websites and they all seem really complicated. Or rather brief (who wants a crochet bikini?) or rather dated. Any ideas would be welcome.0 -
Hey all,
Still keeping up the crochet, working on granny squares for my blanket now, have around 15 so far i think.
I got given a nice book and some wool for my birthday and something very special. My Deceased Aunts Flower Loom. It is cracked and worn but for me holds immense sentimental value. Apparently she used to reel flowers off it ever so easily. Can anyone direct me to a site which has some instructions on its use?
