  • Hi bluebellbunny my blankets just happen to be 73cm x 64cm and 85cm x 72cm but I didn't work to specific sizes as I was using up my stash so made my blankets to fit that IYSWIM.

I find the blankets are used for a variety of purposes, some for prams or cots or the smaller ones seem to be useful on a car seat.

I just love your bag, if I ever come across the pattern for that....., I even have the handles at the ready.

  • Wow mumoftwo that stiped cushion is just such a good match and the other one is coming along fine - well done you.

I'm doing a cushion cover at the moment but I think I am running out of yarn so the piccy might be delayed unless I do as you have done and take one of it as a WIP.

New starter here, well my mum taught me some basics yesterday and I dont seem to be able to put it down. Done 4 little squares in a simple white wool so far. The first was a disaster, the second got narrower as I went along, the third was much better and my fourth I am quite proud of. So now on to square number five. I am not sure what stitch it is I am doing but it is sooooooooo addictive.

Your pictures are totally awe inspiring I adore the sleepy sarah (obviously), that wonderful bag and the stripy cushion cover. Ooooh so much inspiration it is hard to find time to do anything else now but I will focus on getting these squares actually square for a start lol.

  • This thread is coming along, I'm a lurker but its nice looking at everybodies photos, I taught myself to crochet around Christmas 2009 and I've made quite a few things.

I love the stripey cushion to match the floor rug. I'm currently making a cake topper for my wedding, I haven't finished yet but I'm beginning to have doubts it will be good enough.

A wedding cake topper? That sounds brilliant, please post a picture, it is so nice to see what other people are making, that crocheting and knitting is still being done, as a craft.

Hi Shysarah and welcome! It is addictive and so fantastic when you start to make things. I only taught myself a couple of months ago and I can't get enough! :D Once you get the basics all the rest is very easy, you can learn lots on the internet especially on http://www.youtube.com/ you can find lots of tutorials on there but http://www.youtube.com/user/tjw1963 is very popular and goes right from basic stitches to some really nice patterns. She is American though and they use different names for the stitches than they do in English patterns but it is easy to convert if you want to but the best patterns I have found are in American anyway. There are also LOADS of great books which are good for referring back to if you are unsure about anything.
I hope you keep at it :j
