I ordered a pair of pink boots (new) from Ebay last night. Can't wait for them to arrive and hope they look as good as they do on the picture.

I've decided to buy him a pair of bright pink converse boots too (or copy if I can find a pair - any suggestions where to look?). He used to have a black pair and they were his favourite till he grew out of them - he called them daddy's shoes as his dad wears those too.

Just to clear things up, I don't think that any clothes/shoes/toys he has will influence whether he is gay or not. He is my first and does quite a lot of things that some might interpret as 'signs' but I think probably all kids are the same - many of the posts on here helped me realise that. I think it is more a reflection of his personality, and we love it. He really has us in stitches a lot of the time.

JJ sports do a range of "fake" converse called champion sports, under a tenner and they have pink.

Sorry haven't read the whole thread, but if he likes pink so much you could buy some pink laces and put them in black shoes etc?

This may have already been suggested!

Great idea! Then at least if he goes off pink I can change them back and it won't cost a fortune.

My gf has a pair of Nikes very similar to this. size 8 too.

Sold out here but you get the idea. She usualy hates pink too.
Thank you, clearly I need to get myself round all the sports shops rather than the shoe shops in my search.

I do have some lovely Nike laceups with the pink ticks, but I really need a pair I can pull on quickly. My black/grey ones with elasticated laces are wearing out, and I'm cross that I didn't buy another pair of those in the summer when I saw them, but I didn't NEED them then. Of course since then my pink velcro fastening trainers have started wearing out (haven't worn them since I got a nasty blister from a worn bit of lining), and now the black/grey pair too. Ho hum.

The closest ANY of my boys have got to wearing pink is DS1, when he was usher at a friend's wedding this summer. They'd made pink ties, and he even wore a suit. But I haven't been allowed to see photos.

all of which is a bit off topic, but we've probably done this to death now, haven't we? And the OP's boy will have his pink shoes soon! :T

Only just seen this thread, and missed out the middle section, but I'm so glad you're buying him his shoes. My son is also four; when he was two all he wanted was a huge pink fairy bed. I loved the fact that he was so untainted by prejudices that he was just going for what he really loved, and although I didn't get it for him (far too expensive!) I have never stopped him from experimenting with colours/dolls etc. that's how they learn, right? And I want to bring up a tolerant, unbiased, thoughtful child, so I was really saddened by the post early on in this thread that called the OP 'mad' for wanting to buy her son pink shoes. It astonishes me that people can be so blinkered. If i had a girl, conversely, I would make sure she had a wardrobe fuill of colours and not just the sterotypical pink. Bring up a nation of free thinkers, not blinkered stereotypes!

A dressing up box is also a great idea. IN fact, it's what I'm doing for my son's fourth birthday as it's all he wants to do at the moment! He also always comments on what I'm wearing, especially the details - think I have bred a little fashion designer....

She just told me she got rid of the nikes and replaced them with a pair of Patrick in the same colours. I got the look for not having noticed after more than a couple of months.

I have a nice Pink Aertex style shirt made by Cotton Traders that is a favourite of mine and no one has ever said anything about it to me.

Ah, bless! My son has the pink and terribly girly birthday tea set, this one: http://www.tridias.co.uk/product-details/stkcode/303060.html which is absolutely gorgeous, and he still uses it all the time!
