  • Then surely shipping manager should not offered and provided their services to this so called 'rogue' company?

As with a lot of things it's trial by association. Just ask Primark's bosses.

Direct Parcel Distribution were using Shippingmanager software to automate UK bookings, that's the only connection. Direct Parcel Distribution were owned & run by one guy from a residential address. Your best option is to try & find out what that address was & then contact trading standards. If enough people complain trading standards will take action against him.

Shippingmanager are a legitimate company that provide software & support for a lot of resellers. They shouldn't be branded as a rogue company! Not only do they offer good deals but they also provide the best customer support I have come across.

This thread exists so we can share info & experiences on deals & companies so everyone can make informed choices & hopefully save time & money. I think recently this thread has let people down by promoting rogue or leech companies rather than promoting legitimate companies. I think this thread should promote companies that have history & offer consistently good value & service. I was shot down for saying this in a previous post because apparently this would limit the choice & create a monopoly for the larger companies. We have seen recently that there are enough legitimate companies to keep the market competitive & prices low.

I’m currently undecided on Freightsearch. They still haven’t sorted out my loss claim, it’s been over 2 months now. Until it’s resolved I will continue to make others aware that the insurance Freightsearch offer may not be valid.

It's just amazing how much Newbie knows about UK parcel delivery services!!!

And we supposed to believe that you are not employee of one of the major resellers?!! Joke!

If you are so concerned about fly by night companies than why did you recommend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Just to remind you there is no T&C, no privacy, no address on their website. Is this the legitimate company you are talking about?
I can clearly see that you are trying to take this thread over by criticasing existing members.
You are probably not the first and not the last spammer here!

Should I call you Shafi by the way?

Anyone else getting spam emails from a company called "Smart Parcels" ?

I've never had any dealings whatsoever with this company, they've sent me two emails today advertising their supposedly low rates etc and there's no unsubscribe link in the email !

Would I be correct in thinking my email address has been illegally passed onto another company by Wajahat Shafi / Shafi Shalar / Wshafi / Home-Textiles / ParcelTree / whatever else he wants to call himself this week ?
They've been on the avoid list for a while. If you have a search on the ebay forums there's plenty of bad reviews, and also they tried spamming here.

Whether it was such a clear cut data protectio breach, who knows. It could of been a more opportunistic email harvest, for example I remember around a year ago supaparcels sent out their 'newsletter' to everyone but didn't use BCC, thus disclosed everyones emails.

    Any good ?
Next day UK by 10am £19.99
    Western Europe - 2 days £19.03
    USA within 48 hours £43.83
Australia in 2 working days £55.90

    Those rates are horrific.

I've a parcel to go to Australia - weighs 2.7kg, 42x35x11cm could anyone give me an idea for a courier?
Has anyone used the link on the first page for the £16.60 service to Australia?
    TIA
    :-)
I presume you're referring to Wrington. If so yes, once, and they were fine. Bear in mind you have to factor in the cost of shipping it to them.

But Direct Parcel Distribution weren't using Shippingmanager software at all.
As far as I can remember their bookings were made manually.

As with a lot of things it's trial by association. Just ask Primark's bosses.

If it's trial by association then shouldn’t you be held accountable considering you did recommend them despite their obvious flaws.

Shippingmanager offer a software solution to automate parcel delivery bookings. How were they to know Direct Parcel Distribution were a rogue company. You on the other hand had previous knowledge & experience of Direct Parcel Distribution so should have known better. You have to admit the recommendation was risky.

Maybe you should spend less time criticising the legitimate companies & more time updating the recommendation section. Is it really important to have images that will be slowly updated? Or is it more important to have information that’s accurate & up to date? We need to keep these companies under pressure so the market stays competitive.

It’s really not difficult to have an understanding of the parcel delivery market especially when you’ve used a majority of the companies. Do the T&C’s & privacy statement actually help or do they give a false sense of security. They haven’t helped all the victims of Direct Parcel Distribution & ppwexpress. It’s more useful to use your common sense, communicate with the company & never disclose any credit card details. I only give recommendations based on experience. All the companies I recommend are legitimate & offer good value/service. I’ve never seen any negative posts relating to service offered by the companies I’ve recommended.

Am I trying to take this thread over or am I giving clear advice & recommendations to help prevent the same mistakes happening again. Instead of declaring spam against every post I make maybe you could start adding some useful posts based on your own experience. It’s admirable that you defend ArmitageShanks however it’s not helping this thread evolve into a more useful resource.

Towards the end Direct Parcel Distribution did use Shippingmanager software to automate UK bookings. Have a look at the Shippingmanager website & then it’s easy to see which other companies are using their system. It provides the foundations for a majority of the leech resellers.
  • Yesterday I have booked with the "Interparcel Economy" , which is delivered througn UPS, and it has been successfully collected today. I am feeling more and more confident of Interparcel. Good job.

So I as a consumer who has gone from knowing nothing about the industry 9 months ago is in a better position to vet and make a judgement on a business than a company which has vast experience, daily dealings and contact with this very business. Fathom that one. Also I thought part of being a genuine and reputable business was that you don't jump into bed with anyone? Not forgetting the fact 'they' were party to exactly the same info as I, be because of course they read hear everyday!

How on earth to you know that?
    leech resellers
I'm sure the many 'leech' resellers will be delighted they're thought of in such high regard. Continuing theme of trying to discredit/tarnish everyone bar the big few.
  • Anyone know what time parcel machines DPD cut-off is?

Anyone know how to you link to posts without it going straight back up. Like this

Anyone used that goparcelgo services which was muted on here a while back, The likes of Discount UK Delivery are still using. I am little intrigued.

Anyone heard of Unitedcouriers? They're bidding for a delivery of mine on Shiply and seem bona fide but I'd appreciate any first hand experiences.
My other options are DHL via Interparcel who I've used before or DPD with Parcelmachine which I've not.
