I've a parcel to go to Australia - weighs 2.7kg, 42x35x11cm could anyone give me an idea for a courier?
Has anyone used the link on the first page for the £16.60 service to Australia?
    TIA
    :-)

Anyone else getting spam emails from a company called "Smart Parcels" ?

I've never had any dealings whatsoever with this company, they've sent me two emails today advertising their supposedly low rates etc and there's no unsubscribe link in the email !

Would I be correct in thinking my email address has been illegally passed onto another company by Wajahat Shafi / Shafi Shalar / Wshafi / Home-Textiles / ParcelTree / whatever else he wants to call himself this week ?

I have also had spam from them what ever you do dont use them they will take your money and you will have to rebook the parcels in with another corrier I am still waiting for my paypal refund from december for the 2 failed collections I booked with them they have a cheek to say in the e-mail "Not much to pay to keep your customers happy. And think of the time and effort (and that also means money)" yea money in ben breens pocket

I suggest using a pallet service.
We use a local company in Fife, who seem to part of Palletline's network.
£45 + VAT for a standard pallet (1.2m x 1.2m anywhere in the UK almost any weight.

    I've a parcel to go to bfpo address - weighs 17kg, dimensions 50x40x60cm !
which courier/booking agent services bfpo ?
it almost makes life worth living
  • I can confirm what Howard posted was a direct copy and paste from what was on the Direct Parcel Distribution website, and as such shouldn't of really been deleted.

However, I would be surprised if there was any connection between them and shipping manager, although at the moment I am totally non the wiser. So nothing should be discounted.

FedEx should be ringing me back in the next hour or so.

anyone know how do i post a parcel to BFPO address? I don't want to post it in post office as the parcel is expensive and heavey (20kg).

check out this link for info http://www.bfpo.mod.uk/sendaparcel.htm#hmforces2

I would use https://www.parcel2go.com, contact them for advice.
  • Yesterday I posted on this thread in a genuine attempt to warn people against using a site that was connected to the now defunct directparceldistribution, who have defrauded me and many others. My post has now been removed, yet others that actually promote and advertise the same site are allowed to remain. Why?
My facts were correct and I said nothing libellous, and i even showed a snapshot of the old directparcel website as proof.
I was simply trying to prevent more people getting ripped off.
Do these threads exist to protect consumers or are they just cheap advertising for parcel companies?

Direct Parcel Distribution were using Shippingmanager software to automate UK bookings, that's the only connection. Direct Parcel Distribution were owned & run by one guy from a residential address. Your best option is to try & find out what that address was & then contact trading standards. If enough people complain trading standards will take action against him.

Shippingmanager are a legitimate company that provide software & support for a lot of resellers. They shouldn't be branded as a rogue company! Not only do they offer good deals but they also provide the best customer support I have come across.

This thread exists so we can share info & experiences on deals & companies so everyone can make informed choices & hopefully save time & money. I think recently this thread has let people down by promoting rogue or leech companies rather than promoting legitimate companies. I think this thread should promote companies that have history & offer consistently good value & service. I was shot down for saying this in a previous post because apparently this would limit the choice & create a monopoly for the larger companies. We have seen recently that there are enough legitimate companies to keep the market competitive & prices low.

I’m currently undecided on Freightsearch. They still haven’t sorted out my loss claim, it’s been over 2 months now. Until it’s resolved I will continue to make others aware that the insurance Freightsearch offer may not be valid.
