I'm obviously getting shafted.
I have been using Cardnet for about 5 years. Monthly turnover through Cardnet is probably 20 to 30,000 But we got those rates when we started with them.0 -
We use Protx as the gateway provider and Steamline for payment processing. For annual turnover of less than £75k: visa, 1.62%; M/card, 1.80%; visa debit, 24p; Maestro 22.5p. Over £75k: visa, 1.59%; MC, 1.74%; debit, 23p; Maestro, 21.5p.
Protx offer risk assessment on transactions, highlighting high risk transactions and offer 3D / Verified by Visa. There's a £20/ month charge to Protx.
We used to use PayPal and Nochex, but found them expensive and inflexible. It took two weeks to get merchant accounts.0 -
^what settlement terms do you have (days)?0

They don't return calls when they say they will and they don't reply to emails.0 -
One thing I've learned about Elite Courier in Berkshire is that it's Slough Trading standards: Slough dot gov dot uk
Another thing is that the fraud act 1996 isn't readily enforced by the police. I don't think Thames Valley Police are unusual in this. They did ask "have you tried to get the goods out?" for some reason, but fraud isn't their sort of thing. Nor do they "witness civil exchanges", such as going to ask for the goods back, because they'd get too big a mixed selection of requests apparently and couldn't sort-out the most worthwhile.
Anyone else's ideas of what to learn are welcome.0 -
Sorry: talking to myself in the corner here; post above referred to an earlier one on page 30 headed "Elite Courier t/a ebaycourier.co.uk". Interesting thread about card processing though. I thought that rates got through buying groups like trade associations were always better than those got through bank branches, but these rates look lower.0

Hi - first, thank to you everyone who has compiled such useful information here.
I've used your advice to cheaply send parcels to my wife's family in Denmark.
I now want to bring a parcel back.
Does anyone know of a company I can use to pickup from a Danish address and deliver to the UK?
Thanks!0 -
having had smooth sailing ever since i saw the back of sale track, i've now had a charge for a re-delivery from back in March with them.
now i'm aware there is a charge for this, but surely only if you request a redelivery ? otherwise you'd be stung for £5 every time someone wasn't in to receive an item.
plus this was for a sale of an item for £17 !! so £5 wipes out any profit whatsoever !:grouphug:
no wonder he has a smile on his face...0 -
^whats the tracking number for the parcel?
That should explain everything.0 -
it does, it says there was an attempted delivery which failed, followed by 3 days of waiting for instructions, then a re-delivery which the buyer must have requested.
apparently if the buyer requests a re-delivery then you are charged again. the wrong way round if you ask me, it should be down to me whether i pay for it again.:grouphug:
