i certainly think negative reports of services should be more welcomed, .

Its very frustrating when there is a problem and no one seems to care - companies should realise this.
I'm unable to report negative today but i can say i booked one with payperparcel last night, one with freightsearch and one with transglobal this morning and all three have been collected as expected. i've also had good service from interparcel as well.
In all the parcels i have sent i have not had a collection problem that hasnt been resolved after one email with all of the above. I,m not a big sender but generally i'm happy with the service these guys provide.

    Hi,

I have a fishing rod to post, it is a solid plastic case and is 190cm x 25cm x 25cm and approx 7KG

Can anyone recomend a cheap courier? I have been quoted over £25 and only charged the ebay buyer £10

Interparcel economy through UPS, but you need a printer to use this service -£6.99 plus VAT

Thanks but that service is not available for long packages

  • I just used FreightSearch to send a package which they say they will collect on Monday but I'm far from satisfied right now.
I took the option of £250 cover for £5 as the item itself is worth £175. Great I thought, covered in case anything goes wrong all for under £13.

Payment goes through and then the confirmation screen shows the insurance as £5 for £100 cover. Confused, I emailed them instantly to ask what is going and investigated the label I have to print off. This label says:

"We have agreed that DHLs standard terms apply to this shipment and limit DHLs liability for loss or damage to US $100.

    O_o

    Hardly satisfied.

I have some praise for Interparcel's Economy Service.
I've been using it for the last month now, and have not had one problem with it at all (touches wood!) For only £8.04 (£8.20 by PayPal) and all of my deliveries have been next day with them. I also feel that UPS offer good service, as I missed a collection (twice... oops!) and they ring up and offer a re-book service, or you can book it online. It's really good, much higher standard than DHL etc.

Also, why is Interparcel Economy not in the first posts??

I have to ship a used laptop worth around £750. The parcel is 2.5kg 40x30x14cm.

Royal Mail Special Delivery ends up at £21.45 with £1,000 insurance, because it's over the 2kg weight band and the next step is 10kg!

I had a quick check on Interparcel and FreightSearch, but when adding on the £15 insurance fee for £750 cover, it exceeds the Special Delivery cost.

Does anyone happen to know of any other carriers or resellers who offer any better prices for insurance cover?

    Thanks in advance :-)
    Nathaniel.

I had this a while ago and the answer was no - and none of the other couriers I asked would either.
