Parcelforce redelivieries.
I missed parcelforce today. On the rare occasion it has happened before they have left a card with box ticked saying "we will deliver tommorrow".
This time the card has box ticked "taken to Post office in XXXXXX" where xxxx is my nearest large town .
I have no choice but to make a trip to town, park, queu at the main post office then struggle back to the car with my heavy parcel.
What sort of service is that? - what if i do not have a car or am phsically unable to carry parcels accross town?
Is this a general change or am i just unlucky?0 -
phone them up and ask them to re-deliver:grouphug:

There is an 0870 (read expensive) phone number on the card. You dial that and listen at your expense to all the options and the option to have it redlivered specifically says "check your card carefully and if the card says we have delivered it to a post office you must collect it from there you cannot have it redelivered."
Underterred i called back again and chose the option to talk to a person and eventuallly when somone answered i was told the same thing which amounted to "your stuffed - go and get it and get it quick before it goes back to the sender"
I've supported parcelforce in the past but this is making me think again. i'm not aware of any other carrier who tries to deliver once only.0 -
do u have a local post office ? they should forward it to them for 50p
otherwise, upto you if you wanna stand your ground and have it sent back to the seller.:grouphug:

This is more to do with the terms that your supplier has with their parcel company, and I suspect that they are using a parcelforce reseller rather than having an account with Parcelforce direct.
Parcelforce have woken up to the fact that people are reselling on their accounts, and that the resellers are costing them a lot of money because of third party collections etc. Hence parcelforce are pulling out of the reseller market, so any reseller using parcelforce is seeing their terms becoming less favourable by the week, and many contracts are not being renewed. One such term will be the number of redeliveries included in the resellers contract, it looks as if the supplier that you purchased the items off simply has no redelivery attempts included with their parcel contract.
Watch out for this over the next few months with DHL resellers. Again, it's a way for DHL to cut their costs instead of having to directly increase the top line prices.0 -
^having said that p2go have just started offering parcelforce for European deliveries at pretty reasonable rates.0

This was a parcel sent from the USA using USPS as the US partner carrier and its big and heavy and cost me a lot to ship here.
I'll have to go and collect it. I'm not going to let it go back to the US as i would never see it again.
They've got me by the b@lls.0 -

Anyone that has a Parcelforce account can approach them for Flat Rate prices for EC. The rates are for either 20kg/30kg depending on the country, and vary slightly by country. But basically, if you're sending good volumes to the EC, then you'll be able to get a flat rate to France for only a few more pennies than for Stockport.0 -
