Hi. Try collectmyparcel.com, DHL services at £8.75 up to 30kg, cheap, easy website.
  • more reasons i'm glad to see the back of sale track.

now into my 5th week, and i've had the pleasure of pretty much giving up on the claim system at the first hurdle. and now i have an item which the tracking details say is damaged, but i've heard nothing about this until i happened to notice the details on the website.

going out with a bang, or crash...

No courier, agent or re-seller will pick up the phone to tell a parcel has been signed for 'damaged'. Bar possibly FedEx.

Do you expect them to check the tracking of each of the hundreds of thousands of parcels that they handle a day?

The fact you keep having problems with SaleTrack who get almost nothing but rave reviews from everyone else makes me wonder if you don't understand how it all works....

It doesnt need to cost any the carrier any money other than have a decent software system . One of my favourite carriers is UPS and if you input you tracking numbers to the UPS website together with an email address you automatically get an email when the item is delivered or when an exception occurs and a damaged parcel would be an exception. You can input more than one email address so you can have details sent direct to the customer as well if you wish. Canada post who are the Canadian equivalent of our Royal Mail has a similar system for ANY parcel posted where you put an email address into the canada post site and you will get an email when delivered. Simple really and no cost to anyone.
Our Royal Mail is in the dark ages - don't get me wrong I think our postie is great and the local parcelforce chap is the most helpful you could wish for but the system they have to work with is "state of the ark."

SaleTrack have a similar system where you enter the the customers email, and they get notified when the parcel is collected, out for delivery etc.

Don't get me wrong I would like a system that notified us when there was a problem, but as custardy points out in relation to what we pay for parcels the service is exemplary. As it is with the ST interface you can see the status of 100 parcels on one page anyway.

    Hi,

Im hoping someone can help ?

Ive had a read through the thread and been googling on the net but just seem to be going round in circles.

I have a flat screen lcd tv that i sold on ebay that was won by a buyer in the maldives !

When i get it wrapped up and packaged the weight should be somewhere between 10 and 13 KG !

Maximan dimensions of box i put it in would be 180cm x 120cm x 80cm

I can use a smaller box if making a big difference on cost savings etc

Please please has someone any ideas for the best postage services to use ?

Its not time critical as long as it doesnt take more than 2/3 weeks to get there !

Im looking for the cheapest service mainly.

Qoutes seem to be ridiculously high. Obviously im not going to send at those kind of levels.

Surely there has to be a service out there for less than £100 ?

Please somone offer me some help.

10-13kg pacakge from uk to maldives. dimensions 180x120x80 but can be made smaller ???

    thank you

Firstly; Your TV will not be insured, and any reseller that tells you that it will be is lying through their back teeth.

Secondly, the dimensions are outwith the normal standard dimensions for International Parcels - this is going to be very expensive. Are you prepared for this?

Thirdly; double check your buyer, because i bet that this isn't a valid sale, and even if it is, they're going to drop out very very fast when the find out what the postage cost is going to be.
