If DHL have been to you in the past, I would say definitely not.

If they haven't I would say don't bother (leaving it open) either.

I've only ever read once on here that a driver wanted to inspect the item. In reality you're right, the last thing the drivers will want to be doing is going all inspector morse on every parcel!

Thanks! Its the first time I've sent something from home by courier but if it's the same guy who delivers to me he doesn't even bother looking at me so I doubt he'd care
I was thinking if they are desperate I can show them a picture of it on my ebay :rotfl:

  • in the process of going over to parcelforce, i've decided to keep my saletrack account for a 2nd pick up address rather than pay £3.50 extra but only for use when i'm desperate.

in the 3 weeks i have been using them i've had more problems than i've had in the last year. the last being DHL's fault rather than theirs, but still, the blood pressure can't take more of the same. i'll be glad when i've used my last pennies in the account.

DHL have collected my parcel and didn't want to look at the contents :j
Did say that they like you to give them an extra copy of the label thingy (waybill??) said it didn't matter this time but I will remember next time.
It didn't say anything about printing an extra copy when I booked the pick tho

Are you sure you've fully grasped how saletrack works? I only say as you don't actually book parcels with DHL (unless it is a away collection), you only book a driver to come, and if you have a daily collection he comes automatically. They get the shipping information from scanning the labels.

From our experience it is by far the simplest and most straightforward system we've used, so before you ditch it I might worth another go. Because for us we'd have to have our price beaten by at least 50p to even consider changing, and even then it wouldn't be a cut and dried.

i'm not sure what the difference is ? a driver turns up, and collects my parcels. grasp or no grasp. ;)

    although i have only used them for 3 weeks i haven't made the decision lightly (as it maybe appears). personal preference, but i don't like the fact that;

i have no idea whether my collection has been booked until the driver actually arrives(just that i have sent an email, or left an answerphone message)

the website doesn't want me to book in advance, only on the day. sometimes i need to have everything ready for someone else if i'm not around.

despite including my collection address postcode, they booked a collection in to my other account, which i knew nothing about until 10am the next day, having waited around until 6pm.

the same issue as above happened a second time, although apparently this was DHL's fault, and luckily i got wind of it the same day and could re-arrange.

things now seems to have settled down, forgetting the claim for damage i'm having to make. but theres been a nice spread of annoyance and inconvenience for 3 weeks !

don't get me wrong, i have had serious issues with parcelforce from a couple of years ago, so it takes some doing to make me want to go back to them.

    Hi,

I got a buyer for an item who is in the forces, is there a way to have a tracking method for this. The item is worth £150.

I know i can use royal mail but is this trackable?

DHL does not pick up the postcode

    not as such
IIRC its signed on 'delivery' to the forces post office but whether it would be then signed when delivered to the recipient is another matter

edit: here it says advice of delivery is not available
now thats a worry for paypal
at some point a signature would be obtained and uploaded but it could be some time
