Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread Mk4

okay fair enough, i don't understand how a courier works, its far too confusing for me, and because they only charge me a few quid i should expect a whole load of mucked up collections, broken and damaged goods, and all in a bitesize 5 weeks.
in fact for nutrional value, lets make it more mucked up collections or breakages than I've fitted in to any one year, all nicely compacted into a digestable 5 weeks.
but out of interest, when should i expect to be told a 24 hour delivery has been "held-damaged" ?:grouphug:

Hi,
Im hoping someone can help ?
Ive had a read through the thread and been googling on the net but just seem to be going round in circles.
I have a flat screen lcd tv that i sold on ebay that was won by a buyer in the maldives !
I rarely venture onto this thread but had to respond to the ebay bit in this post. Seriously, you allowed overseas bidders on a flat screen TV?
You do understand the paypal requirements about a fully tracked service where a signature can be viewed online? You do also understand the requirement to have the address agreed by paypal to get full seller protection?
personally I would be less worried about finding a courier here than about actually allowing overseas bidders in the first place.
This is my usual cut and paste:
I really am concerned about sellers who are maybe newish to ebay who allow overseas bidders on high end items, surely until you are fully aware of all the scams and pitfulls it might be best to set your preferences to UK bidders only? It is also a must for mobile phones which are not even insured if over £36 and sent outside the UK.
Many regular users here are long term sellers and even have their own dedicated websites and understand all the pitfalls and requirements for overseas sales, until they get that experienced I suggest that newer people think carefully about high end items overseas.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/bu...uirements.html
Start from here to set buyer requirements to exclude overseas bidders or bidders with NPB strikes etc.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi I'm looking at sending a few ebay items out via couriers. None of them of of great value, but are too big for Royal Mail.
This site seems the simplest i have seen, does any have any experience of using them? It mentions business names, can it only be used for business deliveries?

Hi, collectmyparcel.com can be used for Home or Business. I've used them, as at £8.75 I think it's good, before I was using Discount Delivery UK. Never had any problems with them either, just though I'd save the 20p difference.0

Hi
can anyone help as i am a complete thicky! bought something (cabinet/chest) on ebay for £133 from person in derby (so will need insurance to cover that). it is 50 cm tall, 100 cm wide and 50 cm deep. the seller estimates that it is about 25kg but i reckon it could be as heavy as 40kg (as i asked someone else who was selling the same thing). i need it delivered to suffolk and this is my responsibility. really dont know what the best thing to do is - kind of regretting it already. seller happy to wait in for courier. think they havent been too helpful re: the weight as i am worried i could get stung re: the weight if i get it wrong
any advice re: who i should go with would be gratefully received. thanks from a complete numpty xxxsave energy - stay in bed x0 -
update on the damaged parcel - they are still trying to locate it. (it'll be in the pile of broken and damaged items, thats my guess)

a twist in the tale, the damaged parcel has now re-surfaced and is out for delivery having been re-sealed.
and it was obviously meant to happen as i had an awkward few £'s left in my account which i was going to have to leave there but will now pay for the re-seal.:grouphug:
