Can anyone recommend a seller for parcel weighing 17kg and is 206cm long x 40cm x 20cm.............for Mainland UK.
thanks
We've just started using nightfreight through a company called speed distribution and they have set us up with some excellent rates. £8.50/consignment for ugly traffic.
TNT through interparcel will be around £30.0 -

Print the labels out and attach them to parcel
Leave the contents open for driver to inspect
Now this seems news to me as I have never been requested to do so from Freightsearch before, and as A) I don't have a printer.I have just spent about 20 minutes securely packaging the box up ... so do I need to do/worry about either of these requests??
thanks
guys n gals.
On the label side, it's more tricky. My suggestion would be to contact FS now and see what they say. I would of said the driver could just write out an manual waybil, but someone posted above that would mean FS would get charged twice. In short no idea, see what FS say.0 -
Hi,
I have just purchased some alloy wheels off ebay and the seller has said that I can arrange a courier but has asked for the driver to ring him before he arrives so he can drive home from work(10 mins drive). I presume that none of the mainstream couriers will do this?
Am I best looking at a local courier firm who have their own vans?
Thanks"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

In reality no driver is going to do that, and I've only every read about it on here happening once. Certainly if DHL worldwide have collected from you before I can't imagine it would be an issue all.

DHL are now pretty much insisting on drivers NOT using manual labels for 3rd party collections, due to people trying to cheat the system. I work for one of the 3rd party brokers and all depots have been instructed to not, under any circumstances, allow the drivers to use manual labels for our customers... at the moment I guess it still depends on the drivers themselves but over time I think you will see that no DHL express drivers will provide them for 3rd party collections... (I think that Home and Euro may also be going the same way...)
It's a real pain in the butt when we are unable to produce labels due to some dodgy address in some dodgy country but it's all caused by these horrid people that book in ONE parcel and then when the driver turns up they hand over 12 of them and use manual labels with our account number on!0 -

I used the revised freightsearch site for first time this weekend. As a previous poster said you now have to print out your own waybill. This suits me as i have prineter and it saves me writing out address labels and filling on the details on the waybill.
There are some new terms - like you might have to accept extra charges if you declare wrong weights and sizes - which is fair enough.
What bother me is when you print out the waybill/address label there is this clause prints on the bottom:I/We have agreed that DHL's standard terms apply to this shipment and limit DHL's liability for loss or damage to US $100. I/We understand that insurance is available on request, for an extra charge.Authorised Representative: Your name prints here.
I/ We agreed to pay all charges if the recipient or third party does not pay. I/We understand that DHL DOES NOT TRANSPORT CASH.
There are two problems - firstly extra insurance is not available if you are not a business AND more ominoulsy you are specifically agreeing that DHL can recover shipping costs direct from the shipper ( ie you) if the third party (ie freightsearch) fail to pay DHL. Is this a fair contract term and would it be upheld?? How can this be fair if you have already paid the third party.0 -
I think most DHL worldwide/FedEx waybills have something like that. Perhaps not quite as strongly worded.
In reality I don't imagine it changes anything from how it was before, and to be honest it's probably just more of scare tactic to put people of sending 50kg things through that can cause surcharges up to £100 etc.
FedEx tried to impose Direct Parcels charges on us, but it was all cancelled becasue they were totally unfair (to put it mildly). Bottom line if you don't try any funny business you're fine, that would be my take.0 -

I think that the charges might be referring to customs charges? Basically if the receiver refuses to pay customs duties and taxes then you will pay them... this is because customs are a pain in the butt and insist on charges being paid even if you abandon the item0 -
I'm looking to get an item collected and delivered to my home. It's a foam sofabed and is 136x134x78cm. All the companies I've looked at don't seem to accept such large items. Any advice anyone?
Also, I've read a lot about making sure the item is well packaged etc. Would this still apply to a sofabed? I mean, it can't really be put in a box!

i've had my first ever order from someone in jersey. they've paid standard uk courier delivery, but where to i stand as obviously the courier is going to be more expensive ?
should they have requested shipping costs ? always a bit careful not to offend with these type of orders, so want to check before i tell them they need to pay more !:grouphug:
no wonder he has a smile on his face...0
