  • Hi

I have been using Freightsearch for a few months now without any problems. When I booked a parcel this morning through them I had to print a DHL label with barcodes (which I have never had to do before) and affix this to the front of my parcel which I did. When the DHL driver turned up he was not able to scan either of the 2 barcodes printed on the label and the waybill number printed on the label had 11 digits instead of the usual 10 so he was not able to manually enter the parcel into his scanner. He took the parcel anway and I am waiting for Freightsearch to get back to me about this but has anybody else had this in the last few days?

We've had label issues with SaleTrack before, not a huge drama. The driver should just do a manual ariway bill.
If freightsearch have just started printing their own labels it sound like early teething problems.
  • as sale track do not offer additional insurance, whats my best option to acquire this ? as half of the items i send are over £100 in value.

no wonder he has a smile on his face...
  • Thanks for the reply Armitage - the booking was made direct with Freightsearch not sale track. The DHL driver said he could not issue a manual waybill because Freightsearch's new labels already have a waybill number on them together with their account no. and if he issued another waywill then Freightsearch would be charged twice.

You were right about it being teething troubles with Freightsearch's system. I heard back from them that a number of labels printed out with incorrect barcodes and waybill numbers this morning.

    SPAMMER!!!
I almost burst in to uncontrollable Monty Python song...SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM, SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM...luvverrrrly SPAM....Luvverrrrrly SPAM

    <best bloke in a dress voice> SHUT UP....SHUT UP...ruddy Vikings!!

Seriously though.....after my first foray into booking a parcel with anyone other than P2Go (mainly because they slapped a £40 surcharge on a parcel I had already quoted for) I then stumbled across this thread. Well actually I think it was Mark 2 but I got here eventually. Anyway seeing the word association football you guys had played with the old directWhatYouMeanYouWantedItDelivered.com and these new LowCostNeverSeeYourDeliveryAgain.com guys I expected the worst. But to my surprise the DHL guy turned up, same guy as I usually see with P2Go, and off sailed my package. And do you know what, it arrived too! So I tried again, and again....cheap cheerful and it worked. What can I say? So, like I said in my first post, credit where credits due. The websites poor, the comms relating to your booking is non existent, and the tracking doesn’t work, but who cares, it was cheap with no volumetric surcharges and it delivered. :D
Personally I only take 10% of what I read online with any faith anyway so feel free to treat my post the same. LowCost have delivered for me and I actually felt you might want to know. But then again maybe I'm lucky because I have never had a missed a pickup, a failed delivery or lost parcel with anyone.......what will I find to moan about <goes off to find a thread on prozzy rates:rotfl:>

So why did my spam sensor go off when i read this?

Lets see Mr Newposter could it be that there are plenty of recommended carriers on the first page yet you decide to break newground and try a newboy with no track record who has already tried some underhand self promotion which must tell you something about the operation - especially as it has been linked with DPD who crashed and burned owing money to users of the service.
It might be a very good service but my advice would be to keep well away.

Why not try a post allong the lines
" Hi - i'm the guy who took your money when DPD crashed but i,m trying again and this time things will be different - trust me"
We might just believe that one.

Thanks for the paranoid advice, you may well be right but as I said, the reason I booked through them was because everyone else got all volumetric on me and were slapping surcharges on. Yes I tried all your favourites and no deal. Given that I had already been paid to ship it was a bit late to go back and say....oh by the way I actually need to triple your postage...would you mind awfully??

I will state once again I have naff all to do with them, but I expect it will fall on deaf ears.

Lets face it £7.50 with LetsBeParanoidAndCallItRoulette.com or £7.81 with P2Go for your average parcel is hardly worth worrying about but £7.50 vs £59.79 I thought it worth a go. Any now my loft is pretty much clear of crap to ebay I guess I'll be taking a backseat in the parcel world again. But should the company fold in the future and I happen to get stung for a £7.50 order that fails to get delivered, maybe I'll do the math and still feel I did alright.

Those of you sending shedloads of parcels a day may adjust your calculators to suit!

Call me a cynic by all means but until the service that you are advertising is PROVEN to be 100% unconnected to the old DPD that ripped everyone off....I will NOT be using them.

Of course, if the old DPD decide to re-imburse me everything that they owe me................

Interparcel.com offer additional insurance but check their prohibited items list first.

In that case I would say freightsearch, as from what I read they are the only ones that tailor to suit individual needs.

Also just a general point, the impression I am getting is insurance is only valid from carriers if the sender is a business
