    (silly question coming through)

Booked a collection with Freightsearch but do DHL provide the labels to affix to package??

UPS option specified a printer for that purpose which implies not necessary for DHL...

    :o

Freightsearch use the "proper" DHL so your parcel gets flown everywhere even in UK. They do not use JD numbers you have to complete an airwaybill that the driver will bring with him if you do not have a stock of blanks. You put the receivers address on the parcel and your return address on the parcel before the driver comes and he affixes the airwaybill when he takes it.

Do you have to be a business to use Saletrack? Im only an occasional parcel sender but i really like the timed collection idea. What kind of time frame does the timed collection fall into? thanks
    My name is Paula and I am a low carber :kiss: 1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg :kiss: (Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!:cry::cry:
  • Been selling a few high value items on Ebay and struggling to find the best prices for insurance up to £250/£500 to UK, EU and worldwide.

Is it possible to find a separate insurer and still use eg DHL via Transglobal?

Can anyone recommend resellers with good rates for increased insurance cover?

    Thanks - great thread btw

I'm not sure, I think they take each case on it's merits. Definitely worth a ring, though to have a set collection time you might need to have a daily collection (not sure though)

Again not too sure, but I would of thought it would only be worth arranging your own insurance through another party if you're sending quite a lot.

Transglobal base prices are very good, however to make money I suspect insurance wise they won't be so good, likewise they may be quite keen to pass any surcharges.

Anyway still may well be the cheapest, I'd also suggesting seeing what freightsearch say as I they should be quite good with insurance as I think they also have an insurance broker.

http://www.freightsearch.com, current cheapest, late cut-off and you get to have all your parcels flown about the U.K as they're using DHL Worldwide.

They won't change their schedule just for you but you know, when you miss collection/ cannot wait for collection you can just drop it off to your local DHL depot. Done it few times myself...

Do you know if you can drop things off at DHL service points such as those found in Staples?

EDIT: I'm planning on moving home (from London to Harrogate, but I live in a shared house so not too much stuff) and think the easiest way is just to ship clothes and etc this way rather than rent a car/make a few runs on the train... thoughts?

Many thanks to ArmitageShanks for all your helpful advice. I have used Express Packages this week and the service was excellent.

Well it has to beat £52 ticket to Harrogate on the train + the cost of shipping anything me and my Dad can't get up there...

I'm guessing a car would be about £60 from Inner City London + fuel (~£30)...

Will do a bit more research...

you still need to enter the parcel dimensions, which is what i want to avoid!
