  • Anyone know the cheapest method to send a pallet out on an economy service collected from a residential address and delivered to a residential address.

FreightSearch and ParcelBroker both offer pallets services. You will need to ring/email them with pallet size, height and relevant post codes.
  • Does anyone know which of the shipping services allow you to rebook a failed collection without making you pay again? or a courier service that will avoid a certain time like school run times when collecting a parcel

I have had to book a collection 3 times with payperparcel & paid 3 times because the DHL driver keeps calling when i am out on a school run. you are given the choice to leave instructions so i did asking to avoid a certain time of day. i understand the driver has his rounds & a schedule. but i have paid 3 shipping costs & not had the parcel collected its very frustrating.

They won't change their schedule just for you but you know, when you miss collection/ cannot wait for collection you can just drop it off to your local DHL depot. Done it few times myself...

Unfortunate but not the drivers fault, imagine if everyone had left the driver notes, like at hairdressers between 10 and 11, off to the shops between 2 and 3 , he wouldn't get anything done and i don't blame him one bit, its hard enough being a courier driver.

Maybe you would be better off using Parcelforce as you can drop it off at the post office

i usually use P4D as i find them reliable. but today i needed to book in a parcel and their system didn't recognise the receiver's postcode!

so went through these forums/threads and opted for interparcel

went through the booking fine and when i submitted it, i realised i had only put the receiver's first name and missed his surname, doh!

so emailed interparcel right away asking for the surname to be included and about 1 hours later got a reply saying it had been done. this was 3pm on a Sunday,

must say spot on service so far!

You can drop the parcel to DHL depot if you miss a collection. I have done a few times before.

our parcels have been collected this afternoon. The driver said he is extremely busy today. His van is almost full.
