  • Why have Freightsearch suddenly changed from DHL home to DHL international? It doesn't make sense considering they would have many customers relying on their daily pickup account.

Hi, the collection was not actually from my address, but from a business premises that I deal with a lot. The DHL driver was not a familiar one to the business owner, and he just did not want to know once there was no 'bar code' - that was that, he just got in the van and went!. I hope Freight Search can sort this out - I am £27 down at the moment!.

I would say due to the sudden change Freightsearch have not had a chance to update their automated system. To use DHL international you may have to print out a label. My advice is get a refund from Freightsearch & then book it with another company. What are the dimensions of your parcel?

Frieghtsearch did not payout insurance when DHL lost my parcel so don't be under any illusion about the insurance they offer, it's not valid so don't send anything valuable.
So quick to judge, so quick to dismiss.

    Parcelforce 48hr £12.99
    DPD 24hr £9.99

They may now be offering good international rates but why keep them in the UK section? I'm glad to see they've stopped leeching from Shippingmanager but does this mean they no longer have an automated website? Good luck to them if they have to manually process every booking. One step forward & two steps back.
Hi, can somebody please advise what would be the cheapest deal for this:
    Weight: 6 kg,Height: 15 cm,Length: 25 cm,Width: 20 cm

    Destination: Republic Of Ireland

best deal I can see is Express Packages Deliveries @£15.99 as the other deals on the front page don't seem to be applicable, ie they have put the prices up??

You are correct, the recommendation page is outdated & doesn't show the best deals apart from Express Package Deliveries for European destinations. At the moment you will find it hard to get a better price for delivery to Ireland. You do have to trust Express Package Deliveries to manually input the booking so cut off times will be earlier than other companies. It may also be worth trying at the post office or just use Interparcel if you want reliablility.

Crunchy will you eventually stop posting all this nonsense?
  • Startlingly good news and equally surprising.:T

Other people have reported the same thing. Strange as all re-sellers are apparently crooks.

Nice if they can sort something out on FedEx front, we got another bill through yesterday. (:

If whoever now owns them is reading this, if you sort out the refunds which you appear to be doing/have done and sort the FedEx fiasco out, I'll happily take you off the avoid list.

Are you joking! After taking so long to process refunds & leaving customers with huge Fedex bills your willing to happily take them off the avoid list. Will you be recommending them again soon? Unbelievable!

    tia.
Express packages are the best value at the moment.
Also contrary to what is intimated above they offer excellent service, and have done for over 2 years.

Interparcel do start cheaper, but it's weight dependant.

PS: creditmonkey, it's got to the stage where you write that much nonsense I can't even be bothered to read it, let alone reply.
  • I speak the truth to make others aware. Direct Package Deliveries don't offer an automated booking system or website so they have to manually input bookings. This has disadvantags for the consumer such as earlier cut of time. Freightsearch changed from DHL home to International without warning & by doing so have let customers down so it would be useful to know the reason. Like it or not Freightsearch didn't offer me insurance when DHL lost my parcel.

What part of this is nonsense?
If whoever now owns Direct Parcel Distribution is reading this, if you sort out the refunds which you appear to be doing/have done and sort the FedEx fiasco out, I'll happily take you off the avoid list.

Now that is nonsense, especially when you villanize other companies who have done nothing wrong.

Is there anyone else on the forum with experience of freightsearch DHL claims - either successful or unsuccesful?
I'd like to hear a second opinon on the subject.

    £28.50+vat

TransGlobal are pretty much the only people to charge per consignment rather than per parcel.

Hi, I have watched these threads as an outsider for many months, and found the excellent advise from the likes of Armitage Shanks really useful - thank you.

I have arranged quite a lot of collections and deliveries using the recommended agents, using the DHL option where possible and have never experienced a problem - until now.

I have just arranged a next working day large size parcel delivery with DHL through Freight Search. I made the online booking without incident, the DHL driver duly arrived at the collection address, but refused the parcel because it didn't have a 'bar code' on it. Any ideas?. This is the first time I have used FS, all my other bookings have been with Direct Parcel (when they were going) and Inter Parcel. Always in the past the DHL driver has issued the relevant paperwork and labels at the point of collection, and I cannot understand why that is not the case this time. No documents were generated on the website at the time of the FS booking, nor emailed to us afterwards, so how could I have put a 'bar code' on the parcel?.

I have emailed Freight Search for an explanation, but I just wondered if any of the experts could shed any light on it in the meantime.

    Thanks.

So far so good on this. A guy from Freight Search phoned me at the start of business this morning promising to find out what had gone wrong. He rang me again within 30 minutes and had spoken to DHL and even the van driver apparantly, and everything was sorted out. He left me his mobile number for me to ring him direct if there were any further issues, but the parcel has now been collected and all seems fine. It is all to do with the FS change to DHL International, as others had said, and they are trying to sort it out apparantly. So well done Freight Search!.

I used use Interparcel and still use them occasionally, had few parcels damaged but company always pays compensation if the parcel is insured, highest they paid was £350. They have an insurance cover up to £1000 but you need to check with them if your goods are covered or not.
    Alternatively simply use Parcel Force

Well I decided to use Parcel Force. Sent it Wednesday, tracked as on its way to national hub in Coventry the same night....then nothing. Its hasn't been tracked arriving at the hub and its whereabouts is unknown. The depo where it was due to go to next have emailed Coventry, first on Saturday and again today (Monday). This parcel contained an antique chair which was worth £700 and I cannot claim a penny back should it not turn up. Anyone got any numbers for the national hub or any ideas?
