Looking at Interparcel Economy (UPS) and Frieghtsearch (DHL) but does anyone know whether either/both of these carriers will deliver on a Saturday (destination is in London)?

Can't seem to find the info anywhere, grateful for any help :o
If you want saturday delivery you have to send on saturday AM service which you'll be hard pushed to find below £15.

Freightsearch seem quite good with the one off inquiries so I'd drop them a email and see what they say.
  • We've had a FedEx credit note for one of the parcels they tried charging us for. Just around another 16 to go!

If they've done one, should be no reason why the wouldn't do the rest.

    Good news for everyone.

All secondary bills associated with Direct Parcel Distributions FedEx account have been cancelled.

Credits/credit notes will be issued where necessary.

FedEx will be seeking recompense from Direct Parcel.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but there seem to be a lot of knowledgable postie types on here so maybe you can help me.

I'm trying to send a small format mixing desk to Brazil for a guy who's just had his blow up on him. It's a gift, and it's not worth a great deal (Cost me £50 a couple of years ago and is going over there without the PSU, so in theory is now worth even less) However, if you were to buy the equivalent new it would be somewhere in the region of £250-£300

Firstly, which courier would people reccommend for a cheap service to Brazil? Doesn't have to be quick, but cheap is good, as is reliable.

Secondly, what do i need to do in the way of labelling etc.. so that i don't break any export/import laws? I'm assuming i'm doing nothing wrong in estimating the current value at about £35 but I've no way of prooving what I originally paid for it. I've looked at the customs + excise website but wound up utterly confused.. think I probably need to attach an invoice so they can work out customs duties but as it's a gift there's nothing to invoice..

And there was I thinking giving stuff away would be simple..

    Cheers
You'll need a CN22 label or commercial invoice depending on who you send it with. Of which both have 'gift' options which you can select.

Depending on the dimensions I would have a look at two people:
    1) Wrington Parcel Delivery (Ebay Listing)
You send them your parcel pre-labelled, you get a paypal invoice, your item is then sent via International Mail. 5-10 days, <11Kg, maximum 80cm (length) x 58cm(width + depth).

    2) TransGlobal Express

A shame because we send large / heavy items.
We got this e-mail at the weekend eight hours after being booked:
    Hi,
unfortunately we are currently unable to offer the DPD collection & delivery. Some customers have recently sent oversized parcels resulting in massive surcharges. Until we have resolved this with DPD the service is unavailable. We will let you know when the DPD service is available again.

We've had to cancel your booking & refund the payment.

In the meantime we're still offering a DHL collection & delivery.

    Sorry for any incovenience caused,
    Thanks,
    Lowrian.

    Their service is excellent too.

ome customers have recently sent oversized parcels resulting in massive surcharges.
I wonder if its that twit from courier express who I've had a few PMs about and just uses everyone else's courier accounts?

£27.99 but your volume is too high.

    More options,

Otherwise try emailing Express Packages for a quote. Should be able to get something for high £30's.

    (silly question coming through)

Booked a collection with Freightsearch but do DHL provide the labels to affix to package??

UPS option specified a printer for that purpose which implies not necessary for DHL...

    :o
  • To Cabman,
I think DHL will only stick a barcode on the parcle along with a receipt to you with a same bar code.

As above, DHL driver will stick a label on and fill out a book which you'll then get a yellow copy of- and that will have the JD number which is the tracking number.

The driver should put a red (I think) label on rather than a blue/black which will say Saturday AM on. Also on the book he fills out he should put down SAT.

I would subtly drop the 'it's going on a saturday service' in to conversation, just in case he's not paying attention. Though as it's booked in advance he should have all the paper work printed off and not have to fill out his book.

Edit: As freightsearch are using DHL Worldwide it might be slightly different.
....though not to the extent you'll have to print anything off!
