Olive Oyls 12-month Countdown

He's e-mailed me asking for the phone number of my fave restaurant.
But I shan't give that to him - he'd only put the bill on his UK cc, which I have to pay :rotfl:
He said (of his purchase):
- it's quite a lot, although it includes a bar, parking, reserved seating ect.
It bluddy ought to include a butler and a chauffeur too. :rolleyes2
And I feel dispirited, it's not that I begrudge him his fun while he's out there, or even that it is an expensive day out - he deserves some fun, he does earn it. It's just that I have some deadlines that he knows about, that I have been fretting about. And £300 he spends on him, is £300 less sent home..... :sad:0 -
Oh dear......
Lots of hugs for you OO for Popeye's "Momentary lapse of reason" ........it is hard when you're living the DFW way and he just commits to it without really appreciating what's going on at your end and what that amount of expenditure signifies in terms of your own effrots and thoughts.
Really glad you felt appreciated after your round rip....didn;t catch up on your diary until after the event otherwise I promise I would have PM'd you with invite to stay over........the garden was at it's best that week...and I actually had some wine in the fridge..(and being ,microbiologist, had plenty of face masks and gloves)..so please my dear next time you are coming anywhere near me again (or fancy a detour
).....please don;t hesitate to let me know.....
So yay to House .:j..and yay to Olive for doing so well...:T:T:T..and hugs for missing Popeye.......:grouphug::grouphug:

Hi Olive :hello:,
Have kept up with your thread and just wanted to know how things are with you now?
I-T went into hospital yesterday for his op today. The hospital was a bit of a surprise, it is like something out of the 1950's with 'Nightingale' wards, 24 beds in the ward split in the middle by a bit of partition and the nurses stations to form male and female wards. Even the Dr said 'don't worry about the look of the place, we have some of the best surgeons in the country here.' It is very clean but austere looking.
He is 3rd on the list at the moment but they want to give his op extra time due to what they have to do. The worrying thing though is that he will be put on the High Dependency Unit (Intensive Care as was) when the op is over, they say this is due to the amount of blood he will lose during the op.
He is more nervous this time and I must say I am very worried too.
Hope all is well xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Oh MoT, Hugs are inadequate, but have a cyber one anyway. I do hope all is going well for him.
If there is anything I can do, pls let me know.0 -
Here's my update
I've been a bit slack recently
:o
At the weekend I did 3 great mystery shops - 2 didn't give me a "fee" but one paid for a good meal out for a friend and me (£40) and on the other I bought a very posh designer T-shirt (well posh for me :rotfl:£14.99!) I have signed up for another one next week, and advised my availability for another one. Other than that there are just not many around!
Went to see aged p's over the weekend and successfully got through a hairdresser appointment with Ma - which doesn't sound much but is one helluva achievementThey didn't accept cards, so I blew this weeks rent money on it (well £30), then we went to Boots and bought lots of nice smellies for her as she's been neglecting herself. (I got the points :rotfl:and the free one when it was buy 2 get one free :rotfl:) Dad sent me a cheque for £100 when he found out - I've said £30 doesn't = £100 but he says there's a bit on top for my birthday
Popeye cancelled his day out. I felt really really shabby for pressurising him into doing thatbut he said he hadn't appreciated the cost when he signed up, and like me he had a cold realisation some time later.....
Lots of expensive outings due over the next 10 days while Popeye is home. People have "invited" us for a meal - but it's at a restaurant  (Do you think I could use my luncheon vouchers/coupons :rotfl:) we have our day at Ascot, and we're having a garden party to catch up with others.
So my usual mixed bag of successes and failures.....oh I haven't mentioned my MSE failures? Shame, I've run out of lunch hour to tell you........;)0 -

Haven't managed to speak to him have left a message for when he wakes. Not sure how things went but must be better than expected, so have to wait until I hear from him to find out more. But, I will go and visit him after work tomorrow and see for myself how he isChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
