Countdown to what?
Popeye and I are currently living 6,000-odd miles apart
He has a job he adores in Africa but for family/debt/work reasons I remain in Sunny England.
My dear Mum has Altzheimers and my 88 year old father struggles to cope, our 3 children are almost independent (2 at uni, 1 at sea) but still seem to want a grown-up around
(he's in Africa :rotfl: )
I like my job, and we'll need the income until these debts are cleared.
At Christmas (in Africa
) Popeye and I had big discussions about the future. Should he come home soon, should I abandon England etc etc. And what we've decded is that by Christmas 2009 we should be together all the time :j  . The debts need to be cleared, and if he still Lurves his work out there I'll be off to join him. More likely he can choose to be transferred back to Blighty.
I've posted on various challenges, including this on the aims for 2009:
Def. the right time for me to re-think my goals and aims, things have been sliding for a while
So for 2009:
And this diary will be my self-indulgent record of how it's going. (Feel free to ignore
) NB Popeye lurks on this board, I've been trying to persuade him to register.......

So for 2009:
- bring my DF date forward -dare I admit to wanting June???
- Clear the house/loft for when Popeye returns in 2010 with another house load of stuff
- Get the garden under control without resorting to paid help
- lose weight and get fitter
- finish writing a play....
And this diary will be my self-indulgent record of how it's going. (Feel free to ignore

Hi OO I read your last diary and look forward to seeing you achieve your goals on this one.0

Nice to see you have a new diary Olive. Hello Popeye as well.
Those seem like a goodly amount of aims and is definately a worthwhile goal, but how will the Panto people cope without you?:rotfl:
However I would be sorely tempted by South Africa, for the experience of trying something new..you could always rent out your house for a while and of course i promise not to raid your orchard (much)
Good luck with it all Bob.x:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hello Olive Oyl - good luck! DH and I lived apart for 18 months - only 350 miles though! We used to meet up at the weekends and I absolutely hated it. How long have you been living apart?
You certainly seem well motivated and organised. You list of things to do will keep you busy. I, too, am trying to lose weight:DDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
I mean I hated us living apart not meeting up at the weekends.;)Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Thank-you for your warm replies - I do so love this board, I've always found it SO supportive (and amusing, and naughty, and entertaining......)
Today has been a bit pants really. Work was SO busy (actually, no busier for me than usual, what I really mean is my colleague was busy and so I never had time when she was away from her desk and I could poke around MSEwithout her seeing)
I had a MS shop at lunchtime, one of my favourite ones where you make an enquiry at a bank and there aren't 42 pages of questions to answer afterwards. Unfortunately during my enquiry it became evident that I didn't qualify for it. (I was on their records, and therefore not a new customer) I'd forgotten one of our accounts  . The MS company were understanding and released me but obviously won't pay.
But I DID go to the gym (for the first time this year) and I'm so kn*ackered now I don't want to reheat my defrosted stew, I want to phone for a takeaway.

Now now young Olive don't undo the fitness with a takeaway..well done on the gym btw..Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Good luck with it all Bob.x:D
I enjoyed the panto after all, having dreaded it. Though I had a flare up of arthritus and was hobbling a bit. I was an eccentric character so I invented some new dance steps to ease movement :rotfl: and I don't think anyone noticed
And last night I *think* I agreed to direct the summer production0 -
