Oh I'm much less rude about Popeye on here than I'm to his face:rotfl:
and I'm currently loitering near the computer waiting for him to Skype me :happylove when I should be clearing DD's room for tomorrow.......
But I have finally written one of the letters I needed to, having mentioned it 2 days in a row on "what small DFW" threadThis site really motivates me...I couldn't post until it was done,:o

Skyping eh? Sounds so different when you mention it in the same sentence as loitering:rotfl: :rotfl:
It is probably the way my brain is wired anyway..i am still in American Tan mode:D :rotfl:
I saw a pair today, my friend had kept them in a little box she made absolutely years ago..momentos of 19?? you will be pleased to hear that they have not lost their colour, the box was the only thing that looked worn..we cackled for ages over it as well as the photos:D :rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

That's taken me back nearly 30 years! Was sitting watching TV with Mum and Dad facing the garden and suddenly I said "there's a man on a motorbike in our back garden". A man had ridden through our fence and into the garden.Of course we all rushed out. He was so apologetic etc., Anyway, a few days later a massive box arrived at the house and in it were around 50 pairs of tights for Mum and myself and guess what? They were all the same colour - American Tan.

Morning All :hello: well it's woolly socks for me, almost always. I live in jeans as I would look very out of place in my company if I turned up with some of my city wear :rotfl: so no nylons, let alone American Tan.
But I've sold a lot of my "smart office wear" on e-bay and at the dress exchange so can't complain
Today I'm fretting about my leccy. I switched last year and so I guess I under-estimated our use. Mostly there's only me in a 4-bed bungalow, but when the kids are home they comply with my rule "one light per person" but use the washing machine almost constantly. There's the oven, fridge, freezer, DW, WM and computer(s) a TV, the shower and occasionally an iron and even more rarely a hoover.
Actually, having typed that I realise how much leccy I must useBut I am about £200 behind on my payments  and I'm getting anxious about further accumulation. I don't want to buy a measuring thingy (about £30?) but I want to find a way of cutting back on electric usage. Unfortunately, and I feel stupid for saying so, I have no idea how the controls on the new boiler work
it's all computerised. I think I'm going to have to ask Popeye where the instruction manual is....... (as heating is the only thing I can cut back on I think)
But writing this down has cleared my foggy head, and given me, if not a solution, a way of dealing with it. I suspect that the heating is on for the cats benefit during the day........0 -

You could always google it if you can't find the manual. It may well be worthwhile swapping again or just increasing DD slightly it should be paid off in the summer as your useage will be less.
Good luck with your lodger.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hi Olive,
Good to read your new diary and all the best for your challenge to clear debts by June .
It has been so cold here hasn't it? Good job I managed to get my tyres before Christmas otherwise I would have been sliding down the hill into town and would never have managed to get up the hill into your neck of the woods :rotfl::rotfl:.
Great news about the summer production - which theatre is it? May come and see it!
Keep up the good writing as its so funny to read - thank youChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
MoT how lovely to see you! I keep missing you, hope you and yours are fine & well?
I'm currently preparing for a night out at a Hollywood themed party, and not only have I never put false eyelashes on myself (applied them to a few Dames in my time....) but I'm struggling to see what to do, I can't wear my glasses to put them on, but then can't see to apply them....
And high heels  and glitter - this party had better be good for all this effort :rotfl:0 -
