Hi Olive,
Hope you are having a lovely time in SA with Popeye and that MIL is behaving herself :rotfl:
Had a hectic time recently, I-T has now gone back to his house as feels stronger about everything - he has a date for his op, he goes in on 8th June and has op on 9th. Then, he has radiotherapy every day for 4-6 weeks. He will be back with me to recuperate afterwards. We also hope to snatch a week away in September to totally chill out after all of this.
Had very good friend and her 2 lovely girls to stay for a few days, it was lovely to see them. We used to see each other virtually daily when I lived in the Midlands and it was such a wrench for us both when I moved away. Still, now got dates booked for going to stay with her during summer hols.
Work is still going well, it is the best thing I have done by going back to work and changing profession - I absolutely love it :j.
We have big Italian family party to go to this weekend (its a first for me) so should be great!
Hope everyone is well xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Hello MoT, I'd say Morning, but it's afternoon now
I've been back for a few days now, but it has taken SOOOOO long to catch up on the diaries
Feeling irritated by the slightest thing today. And I sent Popeye the long list of petty irritations I have, just to cheer him up. :rotfl:and I'll reproduce it here, *warning* these are petty petty petty irritations, but they've mounted up to depress me:rotfl:
-
Lodger makes her disapproval felt whenever I watch House she says "is it ever cheerful?"
-
And likewise for any blood thirsty detective dramas (she goes off too bed)
-
she leaves her recycling bits on the counter in the kitchen (manages to put her 6 Evian/Volvic bottles per week (!!!!) from her bedroom into the black box so she knows where it is. -though I have to remove their lids.)
-
I told FK yesterday morning that other toddler may not be pulling his weight because he is de-motivated. She now uses de-motivated as something she has a right to feel, because she does more and better work than anyone else.
-
It is going to be a gloriously sunny day on Sunday and I'll be driving ma-in-law home and back, but am not invited to the birthday tea. Sitting in a car will be such fun not.
-
NONE of may children has contacted me since I got back - I could be dead for all they care.
-
there is a dink/paint chip on my passenger door that goes down to the metal
-
I want to leave this job, but don't want to abandon my boss
-
I need you to reassure me over my directing capabilities.
-
2 weeks until you're here.
I wish I was going to a genuine Italian gathering - they'd suit me down to the ground :rotfl:I've seen a few happening from a distance. Hope you can cope with the noise
And Popeye is in England in 2 weeks time. So I'd better get on with my to do list0 -

Shaun,Shaun, Shaun
I laughed out loud at your remarks, and I was at workso to cover my embarrassment I picked up the ringing phone and was laughing at somebody asking me to pay a March invoice :rotfl::o
And I read of your woes on Hypnos thread. Bluddy politicians, we all know that state support is cut to the bare minimum, to trim that is outrageous.
Pity we're too honourable to be politicians.
So hugs, and send your kiddies up a chimney or two. Must be safer than the back of a TV anyway.0 -
Nice to see you back Olive, hope you sort some stuff out and are less mad ( in the nicest possible sense, cos as Shaun will let you know barking or what?)
It is probably down to missing Popeye and all that comes with it. Absence does make the heart grow fonder, which is far better than my 'indifferent' situation.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
hi oo
just read your reply, put a smile on my face:cool:
perfect timing as was feeling carp, dropped off sleep whilst kid were at quite time and was angry at wasting 1.5 hrs when i could have been tidy kitchen !!

Lodger makes her disapproval felt whenever I watch House she says "is it ever cheerful?" Politely suggest she !!!!!!s off to her room to watch tv and leave you to watch your choice in peace!
-
And likewise for any blood thirsty detective dramas (she goes off too bed) Ditto no 1
-
she leaves her recycling bits on the counter in the kitchen (manages to put her 6 Evian/Volvic bottles per week (!!!!) from her bedroom into the black box so she knows where it is. -though I have to remove their lids.) Aaargh! That leaving recycling things on the side drives me mad too! Especially as the boxes are only just outside the backdoor!!!
-
I told FK yesterday morning that other toddler may not be pulling his weight because he is de-motivated. She now uses de-motivated as something she has a right to feel, because she does more and better work than anyone else. Drama Queen! Let it go in one ear and out of the other.
-
It is going to be a gloriously sunny day on Sunday and I'll be driving ma-in-law home and back, but am not invited to the birthday tea. Sitting in a car will be such fun not. I agree with Shaun on this one, can no-one meet you halfway?
-
NONE of may children has contacted me since I got back - I could be dead for all they care. They seem to forget the importance of a phone call to say 'Welcome home' - they will in years to come!
-
there is a dink/paint chip on my passenger door that goes down to the metal Job for Popeye???
-
I want to leave this job, but don't want to abandon my boss If the company folded would he consider you as much as you are him?
-
I need you to reassure me over my directing capabilities.I think you will be superb! I am sure that you will have the best of actors for the parts and that they will take direction from you like a duck to water.
-
2 weeks until you're here.I can be there whenever, only 10 mins away! Oh, sorry, you mean Popeye :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I am off back to bed for a couple of hours before the gathering of the mad I-T's!!!!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

You lot are complete stars and I love you :iloveyou:
I have been lurking on the DFW board waiting for the "small things" thread, and I miss the mix of diaries and problems. Trouble is the number of diaries has grown enormously and I'm struggling to keep up with everybody herethough I don't know what to suggest.
You have both suggested that I tell the Lodger to take a running jump and ask the out laws to meet me halfway. (I bet you wouldn't either:rotfl:)
The lodger is an old family friend and is in a vulnerable place just now. I'll never hurt her, though I'll moan about her, OK? (just don't ask how long she'll be here.........:o) And I'm FAR too scared to ask anything of my outlaws, we already caused a bit of a furore by inviting M-i-L go out to Africa without the close supervision of the rest of the family :rotfl:We won that time, we must be careful not to show that she needs them to organise anything :rotfl: I hope they're embarrassed when they work out that I've driven 350 miles and received only a cup of tea, but that's all I hope for. And I'll enjoy my self righteous hard-done-by-ness much more then (oh aren't I evil? :rotfl:)
As for the other bits.
FK - water off a ducks back - good advice
Directing - had a great time last night, and someone said how much she liked my style
Recycling - I've taken to getting up and putting it out straight away, then I don't have to look at it, and she may get the hintCome Christmas we may need her to house-mind when I move to Africa.......she can leave it lying around as long as she likes then :rotfl:
Come on round MoT, I'm weeding today:D:D

Not a waste - if you needed the sleep, you needed it.
Watching House and not ironing at the same time - now that's a waste.0
