just been to see the knee specialist,,
good news i can have a false knee when ever i like due to the damage ive sustained !!
    bad news
    • only 1opertion available, 2nd time is very dodgy..and they prefer over 55yrs(knew this)
    • you cant kneel
    • you limp
    • you can get blood clots
    • it can go septic, and give you blood poisoning
    • you can still have pain
    • it may not work
    • and quality of life may not actually improve
i went thinking that their would be some good news,,don't know why?? but did not expect to come home so depressed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Shaun, I started reading your post and thought :j:jit's the €6M sheep :j

Then I read on and ooo er

Are they trying to scare you? Are they obliged to explain the worst case scenario?

    Can you kneel now?
    Don't you already limp?
All operations carry a risk of infection - you would have to watch carefully and whizz back to the doctors pronto for treatment at the first sign
You know you have pain now, this could make it better

You could put yourself through an operation for nothing?

I don't envy your choice. Good luck, and what does OH say?

Feeling down in the dumps and bleurgh today. Missing Popeye, resenting work and the house is a tip. I will feel better if one of those is resolved - and the only one that I can do something about is the housework
But I can't do the laundry Hokey as DS2 has washed his entire wardrobe and left it out on the line overnight - it is now wetter than when it emerged from the machine, so there's no room for my stuff until his is cleared.

    On the plus side:
Boss will be back tomorrow and hopefully behaviour in the playroom office will improve.
36 days to seeing Popeye :j
And I have arthritic but *working* knees so Hugs to Shaun.

Tonight I'll clear and possibly plant up a couple of tubs with the bargain-priced plants that Lodger gets from work (75p for 5 geraniums, 5 begonia) It'll be nice to have flowers as well as veg. :D
And I'll start the housework by tidying my bedroom. I'm bored doing the kitchen everyday because 2 students (DD & DS2) are living there :rotfl:

And my current big project is the preparation for the play I'm directing for July. Last night we had a read thru, and I'm encouraged that so many of them are a) interested and b) able to do American accents (I can't :rotfl:)
So the auditions are next week and the week after and rehearsals start in the beginnning of May _pale_

oh !!!!ed off with me seeing dr and specialist and not coming home with a cure!!!!
    i can kneel and get on the floor for a while then the knee/leg either lock or go numb so it funny for everyone else watching me get up;;
limp ....no not really how ever i have to use the crutch now all the time when out of the house in case the knee twists ....stops me from falling flat on me face and came only walk 60% slower than an oap.
lack of pain is not guaranteed ..and can be worse if that's possible!!!
You could put yourself through an operation for nothing?

    I don't envy your choice.
this is the crux of the problem, unlike many other ops their raelly is no % given to say it will be even 10 or 20%better
    pure pot luck
    and on my track record:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

edit shold say oh is 220% supportive just p*ss*d off

    Well not really.

At the dress rehearsal last night I discovered a friend has a lump and it looks like the reappearance of her cancer. Not sure of the full details, but she has pulled out of the show (obviously) and because she is so young (mid 30's) she is panicking terribly.

I feel so ineffective and useless at these times.

So I've been pottering around in a fairly pathetic way this evening. Sat in the garden and thought for a while, cooked something for next week and tidied up a few bits :o

Popeye has sent a text and is currently in the air on his way home. He will forgive me the mess and unravel my turbulent thoughts. :o I'm glad I've got him :o

    She died last night
