    hi oo
    :santa2:
As for my seedlings, the carrots I planted out (in toilet rolls) in my raised bed have died, much better putting carrots straight into drills very thinly spaced out as they dont like being disturbed I hope the next lot don't. Something has been chomping my broad beans  slugs and snails most likely but there are a lot of usual suspects to choose from and most of the shrub cuttings we took are looking "tired" thats ok they tend to die above ground while the roots are forming, but sept/oct is best time to plant ,give them a few more months These green-fingers just don't exist for me  I told ma-in-law, she may put a stick in the ground and it will grow into a healthy plant, give me a healthy plant and I'll soon turn it into a stick :rotfl:
elvin slept last night for the 1st time in month, fed at 10,1,5 got up at7am
me and oh however dident sleep:mad::mad::mad:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I remember it well ;)

After seeing Wol's piccie yesterday I persuaded Ma to go for a walk in a bluebell wood this morning - it was superb. And she was delighted :D:D
And after lunch I dug the Aged P's plot and now I am cream crackered :D

    Hi Olive

    :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I had similar dilemma about my AP's as they have now moved into totally unsuitable house and will need much more attention than if they had stayed put.

So really feel for you ATM. However, at the end of the day you have to consider what is best for YOU, Popeye and kids...without the encumbered guilt feelings ;)....

After all, you are not the only one in your family...you have siblings....looking after the AP's should be equally divided between you all....(funny how despite what they all say, it never is ;))

.....You are factoring in your availability into your decision and therefore no-one could ask/demand more of you. If it feels right to go "way darn sarf".....please go with an easy heart....your siblings should have to take up the slack in equal shares to you

It's a difficult decision I know.......so sending you big hugs.......and if you fancy a girlie day/night out please PM me.

Oh ...and I'm the same...give me a plant and I'll turn it into a twig :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hugs Hun

Wol, parents eh? They make such bad decisions at times!

My parents spent £thousands on solar powered heating for their property to cure a problem that it hasn't cured (taps take a l o n g time to run warm, how they thought solar power would help?) they were suckered by a salesman. The panels have never worked efficiently, but because they said nothing for 6 months to me, they just think they're stuck with it. No amount of "if they don't work after 6 months even if they worked before, it isn't good enough" has convinced them. Now 2 years on they won't pay a couple of hundred to sort out their hot water flow because as far as they're concerned it would be good money after bad.

The only success I have had with them is when they're considering spending a few hundred pounds or more, they run it past me or my bro'. I told them no-one, even clever people like Popeye make such decisions without talking/thinking about it longer than 30 seconds! :rotfl:So far this year I've stopped him buying a new computer (we defragged his instead :rotfl:) and countless other things. I haven't stopped him buying furniture/clothes/gadgets on-line yet though......:D (why does he believe the ads?) And I haven't persuaded him to move closer to me, into sheltered accomodation........

Def. the right time for me to re-think my goals and aims, things have been sliding for a while :o

    So for 2009:
    • bring my DF date forward -dare I admit to wanting June???
    • Clear the house/loft for when Popeye returns in 2010 with another house load of stuff
    • Get the garden under control without resorting to paid help
    • lose weight and get fitter
    • finish writing a play....

The reason for a diary is to keep an eye on goals/aims etc and to keep on track with them  So how am I doing?
    • DF date is in sight - but won't be June (originally December) because of extra flights bought. Should be August/September time. :j
    • House is getting clearer - apart from gaining a lodger (not that I'm saying the lodger is clutter, just that I've lost space) But i haven't touched the loft. Need to start thinking about e-baying some more stuff. Does anyone know if there are buyers still? (Apart from my Pa who has just discovered e-bay and is collecting ornaments now  :rotfl:)
    • I'm quite excited about the garden. Half the veg patch has been reclaimed, and I've loads of seedlings to go in :D and I've dug a new bed and will be planting that up with free cuttings from the in-laws (gardening can be as cheap as chips sometimes......)
    • Lost 6lbs, put it back on when Popeye was home......:o But diet working this week -should have lost 3 stone these last 3 days.....;)
    • writing has gone to the back burner as I am now directing our next production :p This is the one bit that tempts me to accept Popeye's invitation to give up work and join him.......(apart from being with him that is :rotfl:)
As for joining Popeye, we've discussed this (of course, ad nauseum) and I cannot leave my parents. :o I do understand that my siblings should share the load, but sis would and 2 bro's wouldn't. But sis has smaller children and a greater distance to cover. And is doing similar with her in-laws. I'm sure "fairness" would share the workload - but you know that fairness in this world isn't the norm that it should be.

What I need; I suppose, is to be content with the decision we've made.
(and Popeye to be called back because there's a brilliant job opportunity here......;))

Things generally seem to be heading in the right direction - I dare not look at my January aims.......

  • Well good for you that a decision has been made and everything looking good re debt, aged P's, garden and diet ( I too, will have lost 3 stone in a day..it's the Peter Kay diet:rotfl:)

I am sure a fandabidosey job will be in the offing for Popeye and he will have to be by your side, but you can take a wee bit of consolation in the fact that the hols are good:o

Interestingly, I feel more relaxed now that a decision has been made - and agreed to, even though Popeye would have preferred a different decision :o

Of course the relaxed feeling could be that his money has finally arrived. ;)
CC paid, and also one car tax. Can't find the reminder for DD's
Updated the spreadsheet and figures look Okayish. May would be doable if I wasn't tempted to buy anything (3 NSD's this week so far :D) and I wasn't going to Africa........ But I'll err on the cautious side when I update my siggie :D
