I'd like to join you all if that is okay.
I have been a MSE lurker for way too long and finally joined today!
I am trying very hard to be more OS but I'm sure i could do more, so I reckon if I post every day it will be an incentive!

Evening everyone. Hope everyone's had an ok day
Home now, finally, after a loooong day, and with my feet up. Going to tackle the cross stitch in a mo because I don't really feel like doing anything, and I've got the "new project" feeling. I haven't finished the old one yet though ... bad me.
(((hugs))) to everyone. The DH2B sounds like he has caught my cold, so I think I'll be looking after him tonight. Pizza, for a change, as we got a cracking offer at Morrison's and we like the Goodfellas frozen ones, and perhaps a kid's portion of chips between us from the chippy. Every once in a blue moon doesn't hurt, right?
Oddly doesn't feel right that it's Thursday again tomorrow. Now, off to do some cross-stitch. Have a good evening everyone!!! ((((hugs))))

Ivyleaf and Cruksl ((hugs)) my thoughts are with you for your family. Havoing worked in oncology for a long long time, please PM me if you have any questions or just for a shoulder.
Beethebee what an awful time for you ((hugs)) I hope you don't have any losses or damage
Lamewolf please go and see your GP. Even if you need scanned sometimes the fear is worse than the actual problem and it may actually be making things worse. ((hugs) It sounds like you have had an awful day so far and your diary is a great idea.
I genuinely find that as far as the household goes, my memory is dreadful these days, and yet at work I have no problems at all and never have. I'm weird
Welcome Mhagster, you will find the best, warmest kindest people on the internet here :j0 -
Hi! Have read through the thread properly now while getting myself in the mood for the ironing LOL. There isn't even much as my new yr resolution was to do it every other day, but that makes it even more tempting to leave it till tomorrow!
I just want to say big hugs to all tonight. Some of you are going through such a lot at the moment. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. My FIL died on 12 December but it hasn't affected me as much as it has my MIL and SIL & DH obviously. I'm just trying to be all things to all men at the moment and be there for everyone.
Brokenwings - Sorry you're feeling so blue at the moment. The time of year doesn't help. Hugs.
JackieO - It's awful not sleeping. I also have a throw on top of the duvet it really does make a difference & also stops the dogs lying on the bed!
Curlytop - Hugs to you on your Dad's birthday.
Cruiksl - Hope that the children sleep a bit better tonight & that your Dad's treatment isn't making him feel too ill. He won't want to 'put anyone out' with lifts etc it's very frustrating.
Betheebee - Sorry you've had such a bad day hope tomorrow is better.
Hugs to anyone else who needs or wants them. You are all so inspirational & helpful.

EDIT: I've just started a "House Maintenance Diary" on a Word document, so that at least if I can't remember it, I can look up what happened and when.
A house maintenance diary? That sounds like a really good idea, one we could all benefit from. I can never find guarantees, receipts etc. I was amazed to find that we have had our washing machine for 5 years, nearly 6. DH not able to understand where the time went either! Found the receipt at the weekend when I was looking for something else.
did well OS this afternoon. Made the lemon curd I was planning to do, but only used 4/5 of the iffy lemons. Used 3 for the lemonade, have quite a lot left. THink I need to find some small containers to freeze some in for a further batch of lemon curd and another lot of lemon cordial. DS has given them both the OK.
Did HM coleslaw for tea, as had cabbage in fridge and whoopsied carrots. DS prefers it to shop bought and so do I. DH prefers the more vinegary rich varieties from the shops. I told him I would be getting shop stuff again, but hadn't wanted to go out today and had all the stuff in. perhaps I should just put the vinegar on the table!
Now need to find things to pack away some of the stuff I've made, Not much room in the freezer so will have to consider this. Found some jam jars for the lemon curd. I need to save some 'nice' jars, then I could do lemon curd to go in hampers next Christmas. The lemon cordial would be good as well, but would need to be in nice bottles. I don't have much in the way of bottles at the moment... a ginger beer one I could wash out, hope it doesn't matter that it's plastic, expect it's more important that it is clean.
I shall spend time clearing up the mess I've made and then a bit of sewing I think. Have a good evening."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I do this as well, but mine is in a folder, every time I buy something new, the reciept gets stapled to the front of the instruction book and filed away in alphabetical order, I also put guarantees for work done in there, saves hours searching for instruction books or reciepts.
I also have a folder for the cars, and billsI also have a touch ot OCD

Evening all,
The dentist went well this morning, just one filling and a polish, got home filled the form in and sent it off to BHSF, so I will get a good chunk of cash back in a couple of days.
Never got round to making a shepherds pie, so we had the last pasta bake out of the freezer, I will have to have a cook in day soon, stocks are running low in the freezer dept.
Happy anniversary to the Pookys, hope you enjoyed your day
Beth - I hope things improve for you soon, it sounds like you've had a really rough time x
LW - Please think again and go see your Doctor,
Jackie - I know what you mean I kept waking up at various times during the night, so I put a lap quilt between the duvet and the top sheet and I have a merino wool underblanket a really thick one under the fitted sheet, I sleep better now, but I still wake earlyish, I dont mind in the summer but hate it in the winter
Donna - OOOO well done you 2stone I'm impressed :T

Evening Everyone
Lame Wolf - I know what you mean about parcels being wrongly delivered. My lakeland parcel was left at the back door as requested only it wasn't my back door it was someone elses in a different street on our estate. The same house number but the street names were not even similar  . The lovely occupier delivered it to us by hand.:A
Well I have to swallow my words. OH came in had his tea and got on with the half an hour of tidying up/housework he suggested we should both do each evening after work. He did the bedroom and I did the living room and stairs and we actually spent an hour at it. I hope we can keep up our motivation as getting in a routine for the house work is one of my goals this year as I want to keep my weekends free for fun and frolicks
.
OH is watching the footie whilst reading his book so I think I will stick a pot of leek and pot soup on for lunch tomorrow. I also need to decide what we are having for dinner tomorrow in case I need to defrost something.
Right I will finish my cuppa and go peel some spuds.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.Annual GC £2500/£486.79 for 2 adults and 2 dogs
