Good morning all. Well, I overslept yesterday, which got a hectic day off to a bad start, and I woke up too early this morning so I hope I don't fall asleep at work this morning! It'll be one of those days when I hope it's busy to keep me awake! I know what made me oversleep - we don't usually have any heating on in the bedroom but DH had put the radiator on in there so, when the heating kicked in, the room was too warm. I soon made sure it was turned off - I know it's cold but I hate waking up in a heated bedroom!
I haven't caught up with all of yesterday's threads so lots of (((hugs))) for all of you in need, and it seems to be lots of you. I do hope things get better for everyone.
Yesterday seemed to run away with me - that's what comes of oversleeping. Still, I enjoyed the afternoon with DGS. It was really cold waiting at school for him but we had a warm house and a hot kettle waiting for us when we got home. I love spending the time with each of the grandchildren on their own; they're both such good company. DGS loves board games, especially as he can generally thrash me, so we had a great old-fashioned afternoon playing draughts and Mancala, and we did some drawing, too. Playing like that really makes me slow down and stop thinking about work and housework, so it does us both good!
Well, I've mioliered on and not mentioned OS yet. Dinner tonight is lasagne followed by a cheesecake I've just found in the freezer which was part of a bogof deal in the Co-op before Christmas. I also need to plan meals for the weekend. DH's oldest brother and his wife are moving to France on Monday. They're coming here on Sunday until they catch the ferry which leaves nearby late on Monday night, so I have to think of dinner for Sunday and lunch and dinner for Monday. I shall do a roast on Sunday because it'll be their last authentic British one for a while, and probably soup for lunch on Monday and Stovies for dinner. Puddings I haven't decided on yet. May make a huge bread-and-butter pudding. They are coming up from Devon and have promised to bring some clotted cream!
Anyway, I'm off for another cuppa, then a shower when the bathroom has warmed up!

Morning.
Temp here -8 Wind 0 Rainfall 0 Pressure 1024 and rising.
The house is warm anyway. I don't think I have seen it this cold down here for some years, it reminds me of a Wisconsin winter. All the ducks pond, animal drinking water is frozen. The ground is rock hard. I must say I like it this way raher than rain.
Work soon, all the kids back to school, so packed lunches again. No idea what's for tea, somthing with mince in it.
Well best get a shower and then unfreeze all the animals stuff. I bet I can walk on the duck pond for the first time ever.

Good Morning All
N9eav - our resident weather man, its very cold here but no wind and I agree with you about the rain.
Will have to walk DS to school this morning as he doesnt like the cold but I wont be taking the car as takes longer to defrost and the school car park hasnt been salted and is lethal at the moment.
Boring day here today - need to be in the office all day long. Got all the ironing done yesterday so will need to do some washing but everything else can wait.
Still nothing about the job - have everything crossed still. Am looking on the job websites but there is nothing around at all at the moment. Am very lucky in that I dont need the job to live on but will help big time.
OS today - not much Im afraid. Will be another cheap meal tonight - burger, chips and eggs. Have loads of eggs at the moment from OH's Aunt who has her own chickens.
Best get on, have a warm day.

Morning Mioliere, N9eav and all to follow
Not made it here for a few days, combination of a raging migraine all weekend & a hectic couple of first days back at placement after the Christmas/flu break... Not had time to catch up yet either but ((((((((((((huge hugs))))))))))) for all those going through tough times or feeling poorly.
N9eav, I'm like you, I'd much rather have cold, dry & crispy weather, than wet & windy..!
Mioliere, my DD's always complain my room is cold but I can't sleep properly if it's too stuffy - not that I've been brave enough to keep my window open even a tiny bit the past few nights..!
Trying to get myself into a more healthy way of eating at the moment - I have 6 months till my graduation ceremony (obviously I have to successfully finish my degree first!) which I am hoping will motivate me. Watched Claire sweeney's big fat diet last night which I thought was interesting & it's scary how fast the weight can pile on & the effect it can have.
So nice warm porridge for breakfast, and will take some soup as well as a wholemeal roll with something like chicken & salad for lunch. Middle DD is going to cook dinner - likely to be pork steaks, maybe with jacket potatoes.
Have a good day all, take care out there!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning Kathy N9eav and all to follow.
Very cold here again today, I am back to work after the xmas break, in a strange way I am looking forward to getting back into a routine, bet that won't last long. Severe frost here again, I will go and break the ice on the birds water, and put some fresh food out for them, could everyone remember to put some water out for them ?
N9eav, be carefull walking on the duck pond, it would not do to have you falling in.
Pasta, with bacon and mushrooms for tea tonight, something quick for the first day back at work.
Little dog is off to OH dad for the day for the first time, as my mum and dad are both off to court today as witnesses, hopefully it will all be over by this afternoon.
Recycling and rubbish are out this morning, poor bin men must freeze, will swish ans swipe before work, and shove a wash on tonight.
DD and I have had porridge for breakfast, with a kiwi and juice for her, tea for me.
OH and I have soup for lunch, he also has a pasty, I don't  , watching what I eat, dd has a ham roll, apple, and a hm cookie.
Well better get on, have good days all and keep warm xx0 -

It's freezing...
DD woke at 5:45 this morning which is 45 minutes later then usual. Almost felt a bit like a lie in:o.
Am already showered and dressed to the shoes, DD is still in pjs but going to get her dressed in a minute.
My dinner experiment last night with the red rice I had in a hamper for Xmas was - to put it mildly - a disaster...have to remind myself that I didn't pay for it... DH ended up making omelettes for us all....
Another toddler group this morning... then home to do some paid work and then some more housework. The pavement looks treacherous so it is going to be interesting with the pushchair....
DD is currently counting, so cute: one, two, three, four, siz, seben, (she always leaves out the five and can't say six or seven properly).
OS things for today: Cut up DH old T-shirts for cleaning cloths. Cut up some old towels to make face cloths. Sort out some books to give to the homeless shelter and pack up some old coats etc to give them too.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all
Welcome sweetpea & hugs to PP, Mudgekin, Churchie & anyone else in need.
Trains still working ok, so hubby has been delivered to the local station. It's still bitterly cold here so I'm glad this weeks menu plan was all comfort food, cottage pie tonight with spring greens, yummy. Porrige for breakfast & HM roast squash soup for lunch.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester
