  • Hello everybody :hello: and hugs to all in need. Not read the thread properly yet but have skimmed. Light dusting of snow here today - Mr Rage woke me up to tell me that and I don't know why because he knows I can't kneel up to look out of the window with my knee.... still, it motivated me to get out of bed :rotfl: . Didn't got to Wickes last night as there was loads of work on digital for me so I did that 'til nearly 9 - well that bring my earnings to-date to £100 on one service and about a fiver on the other! I want to try and get about £400 a week until I burn out. Still, cheque came yesterday for December's wages so that's my half of the February household budget covered. Breakfast is porridge and golden syrup sat at the side of me as I type. Lunch will probably be a cheese and onion toastie  and as for dinner, well we have some large potatoes I could do as jackets. Been out and fed the outside birdies and unfrozen their water and seen to the budgies. Apart from that work, work work, for me today and an early night as I am shattered after typing nearly all yesterday but will have to vac the living room (thanks to budgie moult) and dust - might also give the bathroom a good clean if the work dries up. See you all later.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Morning everyone.

mudgekin, love your 'summer dinner'. Sounds a bit like 'what's for dinner?'.....
'Wait and see'. How often did you get that as a kid?

Well, for now I'm being totally lazy. Well maybe not. maybe we could call it planning time. Went down and made ds sandwiches for his packup. made more tea and came back to bed with the laptop, SAD lamp, organiser and a cookbook. I should sit for an hour with the lamp, so I can do thise things without guilt. It's colder downstairs at the moment, so bed is a nice place to be.

Am planning an OS day around friend who is coming for a manicure 1pm.
    I must:
-make porridge for breakfast as lunch will be late
-make my mushroom soup for lunch.
-put yoghurt on and get bread from freezer
-clear final clean stuff off rack
-vac thru downstairs incl. getting work room as I would like a client to see it!
-check if tax online thing registered,as I haven't had an email confirmation,
-sort scabby apples from whoopsies at the weekend.
    -make coleslaw for tonight
    -put decorations in cupboard
    -BIG tidy up elsewhere
-make lemon curd with bag of iffy lemons also whoopsied at the weekend.
    -wipe out fridge
-arrange a bartered pedicure with friend A
-arrange a bartered massage to my sore shoulder with friend B
-arrange bartered sewing help for a manicure for Friend C

Some paying work would be nice as well!

...and lots more things I haven't remembered yet! The list goes on.

  • The red/black rice thing is making me chuckle, how hard is it to throw away food even if it's disgusting! I always keep it in the cupboard "just in case" like I'm going to change my mind and start to like it!

I overslept yesterday but was early for work, got up on time today and was almost late. If I'm even 5min behind schedule (usually in work at 0745) the entire regiment is on parade watching me drive past which is a bit embarrassing, especially because there are only about 3 girlies here so we stick out like the proverbial!

Freezer supper tonight, going to have to pay a lump sum off the mortgage I think or we'll have trouble when our fixed rate ends this year. We're also saving for a deposit so it's very frustrating. Anyway, I'm getting there as my sig suggests!

Was also hoping to get married this year but have been warned I might be going away somewhere for a few months so can't even get excited about that!!

Woke up at 6.30 and both DDs are now off to work or school.

DH is working from home so having some tea and surfing on here - Bliss!

When I can brave the freezing ktchen I want to make veg soup in the slow cooker for later and also bake some bread rolls. Might even make pizza dough in the Panny and do a huge pizza for tea for those turn their nose up at soup.

DD(14) has her 15th birthday on Monday and has been hinting she would like to go out for a family dinner but the place she likes we have to drive to and just cannot spend over £100 for a meal out. Especially as I have already bought her some nice presents and our house insurance needs to be paid and has shot up in price.

I might just offer to spend ages making the chicken pancakes that she loves and have a nice meal at home instead.

Another DD will be 20 at the end of Feb and is quite difficult to find presents for but loved the Jonathon Creek episode at New Year and when I mentioned you could buy a box set of the series she was really keen on the idea.

Amazon offered it last week at around £27 instead of £75 but when I checked this week they only had "new and used" for £69 plus postage! Did not want to disappoint DD so looked at play.com who are out of stock but offering it at £29.99 with free postage!!!! Ordered it while offer was still on.

For series 1,2,3 and 4 plus the Christmas specials it is a really good deal.

Hovered round the phone yesterday hoping we might get an offer for the house but no word. Will try to relax and assume things will work out for the best eventually.

Feel like the carton vulture perched in a tree going "Patience my a**! I'm going to kill something!";)

Hugs to all and going to brave the kitchen and make soup!

  • Good morning to everyone. A balmy 2C here this morning and dry for the moment. The weather forecast is for rain, however living by the sea, that can change in 5 minutes.

DH brought me coffee in bed this morning, bless him. I couldn't seem to find the energy to get up. I got his lunch for at work packed up this morning and made us cheese toast for brekkie.

This silly headache is beginning to truly annoy me at this point. I'm pretty sure it's sinus related from where it hurts. However I'm not congested at all. Strange.

The great HM bread experiment was a success I'm happy to report. :T Bless DH, he showed great enthusiasm for the bread and my talents (or luck as the case may be.) ;)

Going to give the kitchen a deep clean today and hoover the flat if I feel like it. It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get lately, I just stay feeling tired. I think a good part of that is the short days of winter. A nap in a bit is sounding like a good idea tho.

Lots of gentle hugs to all who want/need them. Welcome to those who are new and returning.

I used to get that frequently :rotfl: One of my late MiL's sayings was Lucky soup. i.e you are lucky you are getting any at all. She used that when bringing up 7 boys and monely was really really short.

You sound sooo organised and busy. I really have to shake myself hard when I get in at night to get anything done, especially in the winter. It makes me want to be a little furry animal and hibernate.

Talking of motivation, I should really go get some work done before I get fired.

    Morning all

A lovely sunrise here this morning and I've taken a few photos on the mobile as it was that good. Then again - Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning......

I'm back at work today and it doesn't feel as though I've had a fortnight off :( I'm sure it won't be long before I'm back in the swing of things though.

Dinner will be chilli reheated from last night (which was pretty tasty, if I say so myself!) Don't think I'll have much time for anything else OS today.

Have a good day everyone and I hope that you're all nice and warm and this cold weather isn't too bad where ever you might be?
