  • Morning everyone,it's not frosty here today. It's been raining and seems so much warmer than yesterday.
I was in bed by 9.30 last night I was so tired and I now have a headache with sleeping too long.
Not got much on today so I think I'll bake and make some soup if I can get up the enthusiasm to move.
Have a good day everyone.Hope it's not too cold wherever you all are.

    Good morning all!

Doesn't seem too cold here but maybe because I've been rushing around being organised. Have taken load out of washing machine and hung up (tumble drier has broken again plus thought I'd see how long I can manage without it ad if ir helps electric bill!). Half way through making packed lunch, have made veggie shepherds pie (so what'sit called then??) for dinner tonight and made porridge for DS for brekkie. DD not going to be happy as DH has used the last of the milk so none for her cereal oh dear!! Just going to address a thank you card to send off with some birthdya cards and other thank yous/letters.

Forgot to mention in the midst f LL THE OGANISATION STILL NOT DRESSE!!

    whoops excuse caps must dash

    good days to all xxx

Sorry everyone - I forgot the sticky! Should really wait until I wake up before I start the thread!

Off to work in half an hour so I'd better go and put some slap on my face and dry my hair. Hope everyone keeps warm today - it's freezing here.

Yesterday wasn't a bad say at all. On the way home from work I decided I needed a leek for my chicken soup so popped into the only shop open when I got home. Picked up a leek and as I was passing the chiller counter I spotted 3 packs of puff pastry reduced to 17p because the use by date was yesterday. Popped them into my basket and headed to the checkout. As I was being served a woman behind was asking about mum so I wasn't really giving my full attention to the cost and it was only after I was through that I Looked at my change and the receipt. £1.17 for a leek  Asked the lady at the till if that was right and she said "yea and if you dont like it..too bad. Don't shop here again". I am so glad to see the art of customer service isn't dead. Sommerfield is not on my don't shop there again list:p

Dinner last night was cheese and potato pie as mum put the cooked chicken and Venison casserole back into the freeser. Bless her, she was trying to be helpful.

Frenchmaid, I am like you and hate the stuff. bought a pack of that and a pack of some kind of black rice about 2 years ago and detested the stuff no matter what I did with it. I finally binned it last week;)

Tonight's may be a summer dinner. (summer this and summer that) depending on what is lurking in the fridge and cupboards. Must get motivated tonight to do a bit of housework. The non smoking is making me retreat to bed early so not getting much done at all. I did get the air purifier ordered though, the cost will be recouped by no smoking savings and it will make the atmosphere in the living room much more pleasant for DH and I to be in and will stop old mum feeling guilty about smoking if she wants one.

Have a good day everyone and I hope the day treats you well

    Morning All!

Freezing cold here too but we've been kept busy getting all the kids off to school/college etc. We had a glove emergency as ds2 has 'lost' his & could only find fingerless ones. Seems to defeat the point of finding gloves in the first place! Dh walking him & the younger dog to school so it kills two birds with one stone LOL.

I'm food shopping in Netto today, with my list made to my menu plan, so I'm not planning on it being more than 50 pounds including pet food & washing powder etc. Fritatta for tea tonight which will use up some more of the potatoes, some veg in the fridge & lots of eggs! I'll probably make two in both frying pans so there's enough to feed all 5 of us as ds1 is eating like a horse these days. It must be the teenage growth he's doing. He's shot up in the past 4 months and is now taller than me!

WM on with its 2nd load, going upstairs now to take the dry stuff off the maidens & put the 1st load of wet on. Cleaned the bathroom really well yesterday got the cabinet sorted out & threw 9 nail varnishes that had gone thick. Dd has a habit of not putting the tops back on properly good job they're only cheapies from the market at 50p each LOL!

Going to get upstairs, get dressed, swish the bathroom, make the beds, put the washing away & tidy the bedrooms after the great glove hunt. Have a good day everyone. Big ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to all.

  • Good Morning

I am shattered this morning. I am not sure if it is because we accidently left the heating on last night(our timer has a mind of it's own) or because I was up til 11.30 making bread and banana cake in the BM and sorting the kitchen out and then read my book for an hour to wind down.

This is only the 2nd loaf I have made in my BM and it has turned out great. I am pleased I used up 6 manky black bananas for the cake but I am not sure about the results. Will test it later.

OS - will tidy and swish the kitchen today, vaccum the living room and make a pot of leek & potato soup for lunches this week. Dinner will be something quick and easy without gravy as we have had something needing gravy for the last 3 nights!

I was saying to Mr Free this morning, as he ate the bacon and egg sarnie I had made him, that I wanted to get into a routine for doing the housework so that we can have the weekends free to go walking or have days out. He suggested we did half an hour together on a night. I suggested he did half an hour while I got dinner ready, fed the dogs and loaded the DW. Can't see that happening I am afraid. Because I work from home quite a bit my OH thinks I have lots of time to do stuff around the house when my job is quite demanding with a heavy work load and lots of tight deadlines.

Will go and drink a gallon of tea to wake myself up.

    Morning :hello:

I'm off to FIL's this morning, so I've rushed around and got a few things done here already.

I'll make a loaf and some rolls later, and put the WM on.

It's freezing so I've pinched mr tru's fleece. It's way too big for me but much warmer than my coat and I can fit loads of layers under it. So if you see a woman walking around Tuffley with normal-sized legs but a top half that looks like a dark green michelin man, give her a wave cos it's me  :rotfl:
