I have sent a complaint email with links to this forum to the manufacturer ('customercare@uk-dorel.com'). They have referred it for investigation apparently.
They promised delivery for today and nothing received yet. It looks as though I will be forced into a 4 hour drive to claim my goods/refund. I should be asking for costs incurred also, but I would be happy to just get the money at this stage.
Due in 6 days and no car seat.....
Has anyone successfully gained a refund from BA over the phone? Can you check with your bank as soon as they claim to have made the refund payment to see whether or not it has been actioned?0 -
My bank (HSBC) told me they can't do anything because it was a Debit Card payment ... is this right?
BeBe Amore are saying that because the transaction was done through google checkout which they don't use anymore I will have to wait for a cheque.
Has anyone actually received a cheque and banked it and it has cleared?0 -
Chewi - i called for a refund and it was credited today!

I paid via credit card.
Good luck0 -
I just checked their website and they still seemed to be listing lots of products, and have their Protx payment facility running? Bit confused by the previous posts about the products disappearing. I did notice on some pages there was a lot of white space above the products, so you have to scroll down to see them, for some reason.
Got through yesterday to check up on my order, and was promised delivery today or Monday. Haven't seen anything yet, but will update next week.0 -
The site has been changing throughout the day - i have no idea whats going on but i think it was confirmed google have withdrawn there payment service?
I would urge you all to call back for refunds ASAP and buy your products elsewhere. Dani0 -
Unfortunately I paid by debit card (maestro) so I don't think I can charge back.0

http://www.bebe-amor.co.uk/paypal-google-checkout.php
They've now changed their 'payment' page to state that they now accept payment by 'Paypal' and Google Checkout. However, I know that Google have blocked Bebe Amor 'pending further investigation'.
Protx have also removed their facility.0 -
I think paypal cover you, but maybe they should be alerted the problems they are going to encounter providing this company a payment service?0

Don't believe anything this company tells you. As per my previous thread, I was supposed to get my delivery TODAY. I sent them an email response stating that I have still not received my refund which I instructed should be in my account TODAY. Surprise surprise....I receive a response back stating that my goods are being loaded on the delivery van and do I want to stop the delivery or claim a refund....!!!!!!...I already cancelled the order (via email on Tues) which they CLAIM they never received. I have now sent 3 emails instructing them to provide me with the credit reference number for the REFUND which they have claim to have made.0

A follow-up from my dealings with Bebe Amor. I told the company that I would do this if they provided some service and so.....
After many attempts to contact BA by phone and email (with limited success to 'sales' but to no apparent benefit), eventually I managed to get an email response from Lisa. Lisa has been identified several times in these pages and I had advised her that her reputation was seen to be helpful on the face of it but ineffective.
Anyway, I said that I had reported the company to Mastercard and East of England Trading Standards and that didn't seem to do much. Then I mentioned frustration that even with being an employee of BERR (ex DTI) I felt impotent at being able to get the company to act honourably. Next I was told that the goods were due to be received by the company in a week's time but frankly I couldn't believe that. So I sent them the email below on 18 Feb.
"Lisa
Thanks for the response.
We were promised delivery within 7-10 working days and even on our modified order, that passed last Friday and so you are in breach of contract. I would like that refund immediately please, back to the credit card that I used to purchase the items and I would like confirmation by email or phone when that has been done. At that point I will contact Mastercard to ensure that the refund has been confirmed by them."
Lisa responded soon after to say that I should see a refund on my credit card within 3-5 days and in fairness, that payment was credited to my account on the same day.
So at last we received some good service so thanks to Lisa for that - my wife thinks that these are made-up names so draw your own conclusions. I have contacted Mastercard so that they halt the disputed payment process but I hope that Trading Standards take matters further to identify if this company is providing a fair service.
In summary then, this company cannot be trusted. Even if they are trying to provide a service (and possibly do that for a number of customers - who's to know?), certainly I would discourage anyone to buy anything from them until they have cleaned up their act, employed some competent ordering systems and help their own put-upon staff not to suffer the misery of continually being harassed by us poor punters who just want our goods.
Finally, I was able to find the car seats through Amazon a few £s more expensive but they turned up within 36 hours of the order being placed. It's a stunning victory for the big-boys and that gives me no pleasure as a supporter of small businesses. As a footnote, I did try to obtain the same car seats from 2 other small suppliers (Glasgow Pram Centre and Baby Zoop) but neither had stocks even though their website suggested that they did. So it leaves the impression that small suppliers of such goods should be steered clear of if either you can't afford to lose the money or you have a pressing target date such as a child's birth! It's depressing that only Kiddicare come to mind as being reliable. THE END!
