My husband has been going on about his friend's wife who has lost about 30kg on the Cambridge diet. He doesn't know it's the CD, he just thinks she has lots of will power and she could do it, so why can't I? I know that what she has done has taken mega-will power, but I worry about her after she comes off, which is in the next few weeks I think.
I need to get my act together, big-time. I have been eating when not hungry, and baking for friends coming to visit, then hoovering up the nice stuff that's not been used. On the daays when I listen to my body, I feel great, and I know it will work for me. My problem is lack of consistency. I also haven't had as much exercise this week as it's half-term so no walks to nursery, and we have all had colds, so just been vegging in front of the telly more than I should.
Need a kick up the proverbial, cos I know what I should be doing, and I am more than convinced that it will work if I let it. Mind you, I know from my clothes that i have lost weight, which is amazing considering I am on and off again with this. So that is positive.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Goldengirl, 8lbs is brilliant, looks like you're doing it right, Il be pleased with that, cant stop weighing myself though.
Rosie, I lost about the same on cambridge so I cant tell you it requires effort but its not sustainable long term, its a quick fix, I got a good head start but Im not going to continue, you've chosen the sensible and long term solution, so well done!0 -
Hello,
May I join you? I got a tip about this thread today (thanks Mookie)
Larmy: It could be that if you have been dieting for long your body is doing repair work hence the weight gain. Get rid of the Slimfast stuff and carry on.
I have started running and got really hooked now. My knees are not very happy to carry this weight thou so I would like to lose enough to a) be able to carry on my running training and b) fit to size 12
Tragic about this is that when I was size 12 I thought I was fat and now I would be so happy to be that size again. So it will be 1 st 12 pounds off or to size 12 if that comes quicker.
I read book called Diets don't work some time ago (very similar to PMK stuff) and have read PMK book and watched the DVD this week. I listened the CD fist time yesterday and somehow managed to do a little yoga session today which I am really pleased about.
My official first day will be tomorrow. I know that most difficult for me will be eating conciously. I normally eat breakfast while watching This Morning, lunch while working and tea in front of my laptop or while reading.
Oh I only read the Craving Buster no 2 from the book without actually doing the exercise and now I can't think of chocolate without thinking of raw peppers - bleurgh!!!"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Have a read HERE
The good news is that all of them regained their normal weight after awhile. I am sure it will work but might take a little bit longer."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Well today was day one (again LOL
)
Went well for the most part today until after dinner, had something sweet, then a couple more and then had a raw carrot (don't ask about the latter - I LOVE them and quite like something like that after eating something chocolately).
anyway I've only eaten when I was hungry and tried to eat consciously. Listened to the CD this morning but that's an exception as normally can't do that. Only problem with bedtimes is I fall asleep and I don't think that's very useful.
Feel pretty good about things so will take each day as it comes
larmy - comparing yourself to others (especially those 10 years younger) is a recpipe for disaster. Goodness I think I'd want to poke my eyes out looking at the 25 year olds in town and comparing myself to them. I feel you on the weeble front - dunno about you but I am an apple shape and it REALLY SUCKS :(I see women around and about who must weigh as much as me but because they are hour glassed shaped or pear shaped seem to carry the extra weight better with womanly curves whereas I feel round and dumpy) Sad thing is no matter what I weigh I can't change my body shape (bummer
) so I really need to work on accepting myself as I am. Hard but I am getting tired of loathing what I see in the mirror.
Keep going ladies - we can do this!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Ok here is my starting point:
Belly: 88 cm - target to lose between 12-15 cm
Bum: 107 cm - target to lose between 8 - 12 cm
Weight: 81 kg - target to lose 11 kg (this is not as important as losing the cms)
Belly/Bum ratio: 0.82 which I am chuffed about as the recommendation for woman is to be under 0.85
Scale has gone back to the airing cupboard for next couple of weeks but I keep measuring every Friday. Since I started running I have been losing 1cm per week so hoping that changing my eating habits will keep this going. Going to go and buy smaller plate today."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Hiya all
Well yesterday was not a good day, or should I say evening, was fine all day, stuck to the rules, but in the evening I started stressing about losing the 8lbs I had wanted to before the holiday in April, thought I could start on monday and then the 'I should eat everything in sight cos soon I wont be allowed to' feeling kicked in.
However, didnt eat nowhere near the amount I normally would have binged on, pleased about that at least. Sigh, really have to stop feeling pressurised about it cos it makes me lose control.
The only problem I have is eating slowly, just cant do it when Im hungry, its slower than before but not up to 20 times.
Hope everyone's doing well, and having a wonderful weekend
Check in soon and keep giving me a kick now and then!
