  • Oh dear, I've got the pre-menstrual munchies! I'm craving carbs and lots of them. Am trying to resist but it is proving difficult. Keep dreaming of doorstep white bread just out of the oven with butter. If I give into this, I know I will not eat consciously. Have tried craving buster technique but so far not working!

Anyone else have this sort of problem?

Hi Reena and Goldengirl, no advice really but just sending you both big big hugs.

Believe me, I know how you feel. Maybe the spring will give us a boost to tackle our problems! I have had flu since the weekend so have not been to work and have been eating ice cream (and chocolate) plus soups etc as had quite a sore throat.

We can but try girls! :)

  • Reena - Could there be any other reason you have put on weight (i.e. pre-menstrual bloating)?

Larmy16 - sorry to hear about the flu. Hope you feel better soon.

    Hi Goldengirl

I have exactly the same problem and so has my sister. I get out of control cravings and find it very hard to control the munching. This week I'm back to normal but my clothes are just that bit tighter.

Sorry can't give you any help but you're not alone and hopefully someone will pop along with some great advice.

Thanks Larmy :) Big hugs to you all. It could be totm bloating, but Ive just started the microgynon pill, I dont know whether that eliminates all that, because my period's been very painless with hardly any nasty mood swings I normally used to get? Not sure. Still, plodding on, wont restart cambridge, thats for sure.

I used to get the munchies with Migrogynon (and migrains) so my pill has been changed (this one not good either but that is another story). My only advice would be that eat what you want, take the plate somewhere quiet, close your eyes and start munching, you might a) realise that it wasn't as nice as you expected or b) it really is that nice but you won't need as much of it as you thought.

I'm also in TOTM and definitely am finding it really hard to control my eating. I'm definitely not binging as much as normal thank goodness, but still finding it hard. At least I am aware of what I am doing, whereas before it would just be mindless grazing all the time. Now I might eat a fair wee bit even when not hungry, but as soon as I stop, and realise after a while that i feel full, I don't go back to the biccie tin again. That's new for me.
And today, for the very first time, I had access to the car as dh was off work, but I walked to nursery instead of taking the car. I have NEVER done that before. If the car is there, I take it and walk on the days when there is no car. I am actually enjoying the walk where I used to hate it before. I can feel myself getting slimmer and fitter.
My long-term goal is not to lose so many dress sizes or stones, it is to be able to wear a dress or skirt in the summer without having to wear leggings or shorts underneath to stop my thighs rubbing raw in 5 minutes!!!!! That would be lovely. (BTW, for those of you that do that, I have found that the coolest, most comfy thing to wear under a skirt, is a pair of really light, cotton 3/4 length pyjama trousers from somewhere like Primark).

  • Hi girls

Well I lost the plot big time yesterday and am feeling a bit off colour because I did so. Back on the programme today with renewed enthusiasm so here's hoping I will have a weight loss soon!

Has anyone combined this programme with a diet like WW?

Thought about it but after trying WW for a couple of days I know there is no way I could contemplate counting points again.

Honestly I think the two won't work. One will be telling you to eat what you fancy and until you are satisfied. the other will be telling you how much you can eat for X amount of points and giving you a portion size to put on your plate.

    Glad your feeling enthusiastic :D

Not much to report here. Still no using the journal :o but I am trying to stop snacking when I am not hungry.

Onwards and upwards. Hope you are all OK.
