Well yesterday was not a good day, or should I say evening, was fine all day, stuck to the rules, but in the evening I started stressing about losing the 8lbs I had wanted to before the holiday in April, thought I could start on monday and then the 'I should eat everything in sight cos soon I wont be allowed to' feeling kicked in.
However, didnt eat nowhere near the amount I normally would have binged on, pleased about that at least. Sigh, really have to stop feeling pressurised about it cos it makes me lose control.
The only problem I have is eating slowly, just cant do it when Im hungry, its slower than before but not up to 20 times.
Hope everyone's doing well, and having a wonderful weekend
Check in soon and keep giving me a kick now and then!

I am awful at eating as slow as PMK recommends. And as for doing nothing else at the same time - well it's like torture to me
As for the binge - well done for not eating as much as you would have normally done. Acknowledge that it was a binge and move on. Just remember that the 8lbs does not determine whether you have a good holiday or not. You should be having a good time just because you are on holiday - we really shouldn't tie so much happiness about an event with how much we weigh.
Had a busy weekend with some stresses so rather than emotional eating I didn't eat as normal (but then didn't feel hungry.....). Anyway feel tired and headachy and am desperately trying to avoid snacking whilst being on the 'puter - it's my WORST habit and a tough one to break.
Still feeling positive about it all, am trying to keep that picture of me being slimmer in my mind
Hope you are all doing OK xI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi girls
Like Bitsy Beans I'm awful at eating as slow as PMK recommends but am trying my hardest to slow down a bit more. Was away for the weekend with my friend and put most of the 4 golden rules into practice but what I can say is that I didn't put on any weight which I was really happy about. Feeling full of energy this week and trying to motivate my OH to go to the gym with me at the weekend so we can work out together and encourage each other. How's everyone else getting on?0 -
Hello Everyone!!
After procrastinating by reading every little last bit of info, watching all the youtube vids and reading loads of forums, i have decided to start the Paul Mckenna system!! EEEKKK
Im deffinatly overweight, and need to slim down ready for my holiday in June!
Only problem is that i am currently living in France, in a university halls of residence, where there is no oven, and...france doesn't appear to sell any 'real' food. I love to eat healthily usually, but, since ive come here, ive done nothing but live on crisps and junk food, simply because there is nothing else. (i don't have a fridge either :-( )
So, does anyone have any ideas how i could get around this problem, and still lose weight.
Is anyone having real success on this system? im so determined this time, and a few success stories might help!! :-)
Hope you are all doing well!!!

abergirl. i think you can do this no matter where you are. It's not so much what you eat, it's how much. You should be able to find fresh food in France. Just take the time to find out where and teach yourself to make a few cheap easy dinners that you like.
I've had a better week. little one is back at nursery and I am actually enjoying the walk to and from there. at the end of jan when she started, it would take me 25 min with pushchair, now it takes 19 min. It took 20 mins walking on my own, and I did it in 16 min yesterday. It's the first time I had timed it again, but I could feel the difference in myself so :rotfl:
we will be going to Algeria for our summer hols this year (where dh is from). I ALWAYS lose weight when I am there. Because I eat only when I'm hungry, and stop when I have had enough. I am always eating with others, never in front of the TV or when reading etc. There isn't the same opportunity for snacking, as there is no junk food in the house. If we make a cake or dessert, there will only be enough for each person to have a normal or small portion. Because it isn't my kitchen or my fridge, I don't feel like I can go and graze when i feel like it. So for years, I have been doing it the PMK way every time I am there, without even knowing it!!!!! we are going for a very looooong 6 weeks this year, so definitely a chance for a few kg to come off.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. Hi, I've been lurking and reading with interest. I have been on a diet for about 20 years and I'm fed up with them. I started PMK 4 weeks ago and felt great for 3 weeks. Consciously tried to slow down my eating and follow the rules. I had a few slip ups but was doing well. Anyway last week was time of the month and I'm afraid PMK went out the window and I feel awful.
Will start again tmw but need to see how I'm going to cope with that week in every 4 where I just want to eat everything in sight and my body naturally swells up like a beach ball.
I will keep reading with interest and get a bit of motivation from you all. Thanks:jDEBT FREE 27 July 2011:j

Can I ask a quick question. In the morning sometimes I'm not hungry until later in the day. Should I hold off eating until then? I know most diets say eat early and it will kick start your metabolism but I'm not sure how this works under PMK if I'm not hungry.:jDEBT FREE 27 July 2011:j

If you don't feel hungry, don't eat. Sometimes when I get up in the morning I will have a slice of toast before work, other times I will wait until I get to work and then eat. It's a case of eating when you are hungry and re-programming your body to recognise the signs of hunger. If you read the book, there are some useful tools on how to recognise your hunger. Hope that helps.0 -

Well done with the weight loss. Hope you feel better soon and look forward to hearing about your progress.0 -
Hi everyone.
I confess I've not been using the journaland I know I shouldn't have weighed myself but I have lost 4lbs as of today. BUT can't put it all down to PMK as I have taken on a new mindee 4 mornings a week (am a childminder) and as such I don't get chance to pick at food, sit on the computer eating etc so I think some of the weightloss has been down to that. Still I ain't complaining I just hope I can keep it up
I was really pleased with myself on Friday though as me and H went to the cinema and normally I'd be having a bag of Maltesers to chuff whilst watching the film. We'd eaten at pizza hut first and I was full - not stuffed just nicely satisfied and I refused my H's offer of some chocolate. Now that IS progress for me
larmy - sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you're back on your feet soon.
meersy - I don't eat breakfast as soon as I get up. I just have a coffee normally that suits me for the next couple of hours. Don't let a clock or a timetable dictact when you should eat
abergirl - welcome
goldengirl - I'd love more energy but kids waking in the night tend to zap of what little I have......Glad to see you are feeling so energised
