Its funny you asked that, have had that feeling most of today, dont crave anything, just feel like I need food I think, but when I drink water it goes away, maybe its thirst.
Although I havent had as many teas and coffees I normally have when Im on a 'diet' so maybe I should up the liquid intake, just hate drinking water!
Been a good day, gonna do my wiifit, started calorie counting again though:o Need to stop, and also I was nice to myself for a change:)
    How's everyone else?

Each time you get that feeling then have a glass of liquid. I won't say water cause I hate it plain too ;) I just have squash and try not to make it too strong.

Glad you were nice to yourself today :D

As for me not started with my 90 day journal yet but I spent some time this morning doing some visualisation. I just need to make sure I keep doing it (not easy with 2 young kids being up from 6am and going to bed at 8pm ). <slaps own wrist> stop making excuses and like Nike say JUST DO IT :rotfl:

  • Had a pretty stressful day yesterday due to problems with my stepdaughter and actually couldn't eat anything for tea when I got home from work as I felt sick. Later on though I had a glass a wine and three chocolates - terrible I know. I also asked my husband to bring me home ten cigarettes as well which is just as bad as bingeing.

Went to bed at normal time and couldn't sleep so listened to the CD and felt more relaxed.

Feeling better this morning and a bit more motivated. I think if anyone falls off the wagon we shouldn't beat ourselves up about it too much. Tomorrow is another day, as they say!

    Hope everyone's ok today.

I went to see a hypnotist last year and he explained to me that we have to work on not feeling bad about ourselves - it is the feeling bad that leaves us wanting to relieve feeling with eating, smoking, booze or whatever you struggle with.

larmy16 this is great advice. When I am happy and busy I don't give eating a second thought. It's when I'm bored and down that I want to eat....and of course no one binges of fruit do they lol! x
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

I tried it today, helped a bit, thanks Bitsy, oooh I know all about what you mean with the kids, got three under three myself and its a nightmare, have no time to eat slow:rotfl:

Goldengirl, everyone has stressful days, I moan about it all the time, you did your best, and yup we have to be kind to each other, wouldnt take it from anyone else!

Doing ok so far, wanted to diet again, to lose weight quickly, but it would have been stupid, I would have lost water weight, depleted my glycogen stores and got rid of no fat cells, thereby putting on weight as soon as I started eating normally, sigh! Have to stop trying to take the quick easy PAINFUL way out!
Went to see a film with my little one, Alvin and the chipmunks, really enjoyed it! Hadnt had breakfast, so when I was properly hungry, had a handful of popcorn and a few smarties and it was all I needed, so far so good, need more liquid though, time for a cuppa, have a good day all!

I weighed myself today after two weeks (not doing IKMYT) but trying to incorporate some Slimfast into my busy schedule. Guess what? I have gained a pound. I could have wept.

I have counted calories today. I just cannot believe that I will lose weight with this programme as nothing seems to work anymore. Sorry to sound so negative ladies. I am just having a moment. Will bounce back soon.......promise.

Do you mean ICMYT won't work or slimfast??

Sorry to hear you're fed up xx

    Hi Bitsy

Before I joined the thread and bought PM's book, I was incorporating Slimfast into my life as a couple of days a week I cannot even stop for lunch and have to eat while working, so I thought Slimfast would be a good way of not having too many calories and I quite enjoyed the taste of it.

Unfortunately I must be allergic to all the sweetners and sugar, as I blew up like a space hopper, had stomach cramps and well I wont go into any more detail.

I had however really cut down quite a bit, but even cutting down does not seem to budge my weight these days. I am in my fifties and my metabolism seems to have shut down.

I am going to try PM, but I just feel so low about my weight. I am ten years older than most of my friends and they all seem so slim, while I feel like a blubber ball. It is around my middle. The rest of me is ok.

This is why I am moaning, it is a combination of fear and frustration that even if I try my best, I am destined to remain weeble like. :o

I will get over it though. Thanks Bitsy. xx

  • First of all, lots and lots of hugs for you Larmy, I so feel for you. I really am no expert in this at all, but obviously the slimfast and dieting has shut down your metabolism, this should be a sign that pm may work, Im not 100% about it, but its making me feel good, and thats more important for me right now, hope you feel better soon and join us, chin up honey, you're doing great!
  • larmy, can I ask a nosy question? How tall are you? I only ask because to be absolutley honest your starting weight is somewhere I would love to be! You don't have much weight to lose so it will be harder, some of us probably find it works a bit faster as we have stones to lose ( I'd have to lose 4 1/2 stone to get to where you are now!) Give Paul a chance!
  • Larmy, I really feel for you. I'm 47 and find that my weight loss is really slow whatever diet I follow. Put it this way, my daughter (aged 21) lost 12 lbs on the her first week on the Cambridge Diet and I lost 4lbs and we both did exactly the same thing. For the hardship I put myself through it wasn't really worth it. I love food and a liquid only diet just wasn't for me.

I have about six stone to lose and I know that losing weight on any diet will take me a while. I've abused my body for so long that I have a very slow metabolism. Also, my age doesn't help either as I'm approaching the change!

In my first two weeks on ICMYT I lost nothing so was disheartened. In five weeks I have lost 8lbs and am happy with that as I am not denying myself foods that I like and would normally avoid on any other diet programme.

Please give it a go and you could be pleasantly surprised. The weight may not fall off you initially but any weight loss is good news. Whatever you decide to do I wish you luck.
