Can I join in here please? I bought the book at a car boot sale about a month ago, and for me it is great. It totally takes away the guilt around food. Now, instead of sneaking food when no-one is around, I can eat in front of people and feel good.
I have lost some weight, enough that my dh commented on it last night, but haven't weighed myself as I don't have scales. I have just found out I am pregnant too, so we will see how it goes. Wouldn't it be lovely if I could lose weight while pregnant instead of putting it on? I am about 4-5 stone overweight. So a long way to go, but I feel calm and happy about it. I am not discussing it with my family, none of them are overweight anyway, it is my own private thing. So if you don't mind me dipping in here for a bit of a chinwag, and moral support, I'd be a happy bunny so I would.

  • Hi Rosie, I wanted to come back and say 'hello' properly after this mornings mad dash! Well done on the weight loss and more importantly on feeling in control - and also a huge congratulations on your news - do you know how far along you are yet?

What you wrote about secret eating struck a chord with me - particularly as in my weekly round up in my journal I wrote that one of the things that I was most pleased with was that following this plan had eliminated my secret eating. I don't have a stash hidden away at home any more either. This whole 'if you want it, have it (but have it slowly etc)' mentalilty has really turned me around and very quickly - because I have 'permission' I no longer have an interest in it and it no longer has power over me - for me this is a massive breakthrough! I did stop at the vending machine in work this morning, I was hungry but unsure what I wanted. I ummed and arred, imagining what the chocolate would taste like, decided that it wasn't what I wanted, came back to my desk and ate some pears instead - result! I have been enjoying something small and sweet after my dinner in the evening (rolo mousses have been this week's treat - £1 for 4 in asda so money saving too!) but to have it I've had to have less for my main meal or I won't have room for pud. For me this is real progress as before I'd have stuffed my dinner in and still eaten the pudding, not really tasting it but squeezing it in anyway. Even worse, I'd have had my 'diet meal' followed by my 'diet yogurt' and then felt so unsatisified that several hours later I'd have sneaked something 'bad' not wanting anyone to see me eating again having already had a proper meal. I haven't told anyone that I'm following Paul McKenna, although my OH has noticed that I am eating less. I told him that I'm trying the 'eat when you're hungry, don't stuff yourself and have a little of what you fancy method' to which he replied 'well isn't that how you're supposed to eat?' - maybe it really is that simple for men?!

Anyhoo, best get back to it! Hope everyone else is having a good one?

    Cheers, Flossie xxx

I am 'just' pregnant, so it's all hush hush for now. I don't personally know anyone on here, so I could share it. I hope my eating less continues. I am feeling quite sick, compared to my other 2 pregnancies, but before, I just ate when I felt sick, didn't feel sick etc.
I would do like you and eat 'healthy ' food, then sneak something like a family size bar of Cadbury's Caramel, even though I had no room. I wouldn't even taste it. Now, sometimes I eat chocolate, but can easily go shopping and not buy anything like choc or sweets or biccies, which I was never able to do before. It is such a feeling of freedom to know I can eat in front of others, when I am genuinely hungry. Just had 2 Sainsbury's Fizzy Fangs with the kids!!!!!! T|hat's all I needed and am satisfied totally!
I am Muslim, and it is Eid for us today, so some nice food around. But I can only have a wee bit of each, slowly, instead of gorbing myself til I feel sick.
    Yaaaaayyyyy!!!!!

    Hiya Rosie, welcome and congrats!

Not been a great week so far to be honest. Am feeling so sore. Haven't managed to do any exercise, and haven't really been stopping when I'm full, even though I recognise that it's emotional. I'm going to listen to the CD tonight.

Today, stairs are out of the question today, so I'm relying on my mum to bring food up for me, and haven't eaten anything yet today, I've had some hot ribena, but that's it.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

    Hi Folks

sorry have been a bit Missing this week and not able to offer much support. The plan has been going fine which is great as I was a bit worried with DS and I being ill it may get pushed to one side and things normally do but I have been found it really easy to stick to. Anyway here is today's diary entry.

    Day 21

Diary entries have been a bit lacking over the last couple of days as I have been so tired. DS has been sleeping with me due to him being ill with the cold and he is the biggest fidget in bed I have ever known!! Anyway system still seems to be going fine. I am getting used to putting smaller portions on my plate and drinking lots of water so that is cool. My snacking is almost non existent which if you had told me that was going to happen three weeks ago I would not have believed you. I don’t feel as full of energy as I did a week ago but in saying that I am still fighting my cold off. I have managed to just keep it at a cough and a sniffle but obviously my body is fighting something bigger.

I am debating whether to weigh myself on Tuesday morning or not as its 1st December and I want to know what I weigh at the start of each month and to see how much I lose each month. I know that kind of goes against the system rules but I think I may make my weigh ins on the 1st and 15th of the month irrespective of what days those are in my journal. That means I am sticking to my weigh in every couple of weeks but on days that suit me as opposed to what the journal says.

Rosie - welcome and congratultaions on the pregnancy.

Flossie - your post sounds so much like what I am experiencing not wanting the crap I was eating before inbetween meals. As for the secret eating when you were on a 'diet' I am totally with you on that one as I was a terrible secret eater before I started this system.

Guapa - Hope you feel better soon.
  • Evening all, can you believe its the weekend again already? Work has been a right pain this week so I was very glad to finally get home this evening.

Eating wise, all has been good today. We’re trying to run the stocks down for Christmas so food is basic but I can live with that. Must go shopping tomorrow though as all that’s left in my fridge is cheese, milk and diet coke – even the most imaginative cook would struggle! Fortunately we still have loads in the freezer so planning a lovely fish pie tomorrow to use up some odds and ends. One thing I have noticed on Paul McKenna is that I’m enjoying cooking a lot more as I’m not cooking separate meals every night or having to calculate syns / points – its so liberating! Today I had tinned pears at my desk for breakfast (odd choice I know but I love ‘em! Portable too!), sandwich and quavers for lunch and cheese stuffed chicken breast (minus the bacon to wrap it in as none in my ‘bare as mother hubbard’s cupboard’ fridge!) with oven chips and mushrooms for dinner. Loads of water and no desire to snack, not even this evening.

Maisie – Glad you’re both feeling better and hope you get some good sleep soon! With regards to weighing on Tuesday I would say go for it if that’s what you want. I think Paul’s idea is to break the habit so many of us have of weighing all the time and you’ve already achieved that so I don’t think it makes much difference which day of the plan you choose to weigh on after that.

Rosie – Hope you’ve had a good day and have enjoyed some of those Eid treats.

Guapa – Sorry you’re suffering at the mo, I hope your mum brought you something comforting to eat and that you get a good night’s sleep and begin to feel better tomorrow.

Take care all and if I don’t get chance to log in tomorrow have a good one,

    Cheers, Flossie xxx

  • Hi all,
I've struggle over the last 10 days or so, seemed to get myself out of the habit etc but then for the last few days tried to get back into it. my 15 days isn't up for a few days yet but I did admit to a sneaky step on yesterday and I'd still managed to lose 1lb. Obviously I'm not recording that or anything but it has heleped because I know I'm still gong in the right way and it's helped me keep on track.
