Hi everyone!
I would like to try to loose some weigh with Paul McKenna but there is so many different products he offers I dont know which one to choose. There are book, CD`s and DVD`s. Cannot afford to buy everything (even from ebay). Can you please tell me which one are worth buying?
Does it really works?
Thank you guys
Well just as an example, Tesco Direct have got the 2007 edition of the book for £3.86. That includes the CD. Asda often have it too at a good price.
You don't need to get all the DVD's etc, just start with the basic book and maybe the journal and see how you go. You were ready to spend £80 on that other thing so £3.86 should be affordable and you haven't lost much if you dont like it
To answer your previous question, you dont have to do any exercise but obviously it is encouraged for health reasons in general, not just weight loss.
Can you do some walking?0 -
I still have to use crutch to walk. I had very serious operation in June and its going very very slow. Thats why I put on weight, I am unhappy because it takes so long. I am bored becuase I have to sit at home alone most of the time and I am eating chocolate all the time. I hope this book will help me.0

Hi Nanaw,
I had an op in May which involved breaking my pelvis in several places so can sympathise with your situation. I have lost 2 stone since surgery, by eating smaller amounts and only when hungry (similar to the PMK suggestions). I still cant walk too far but can do some exercises in water, including walking in the pool, and have used an aqua jogger, which is like a flotation belt to help you walk/run in deep water without weight bearing. It is used by injured athletes to maintain their fitness-maybe your physio can suggest something similar? Also have done upper body weights. I have found losing the weight has helped so much with my recovery by putting less strain on the injured parts. I was not overweight to start with and now weigh 112lbs so it is possible , and I have still enjoyed chocolate, takeaways etc but in smaller amounts.
I hope this helps a bit.0 -
Day 12
A bit of a different day today as I felt hungry nearly all day. I am aware that I ate less each time I ate and wondered if I was maybe just thinking I was full up a little too early and therefore was getting hungry earlier. Of course when I was feeling hungry in between meal times I was doing my usual of eating crisps and chocolate so think I maybe need to go back and revisit the feelings of hunger and fullness. Oddly enough I note that this is what the journal is focussing on tomorrow so I wonder if it’s a common event at this stage, whereby people start cutting back too much and the signals get a bit confused.
I have been doing really well on the drinking water today and reckon I am up around 2 litres of just water plus a few cups of coffee throughout the day. Not done much exercise today as I have been at work and also my leg has been hurting from all the walking I did yesterday. CD before bed tonight again to keep my focus going.
Guapa1 - well done on getting to day 27. Your walking DVD sounds great I may look into getting that myself as I have a problem with my hip and find exercise difficult. I was kind of hoping that losing some weight would make it easier for me to do some exercise.
Nanauw - sorry haven't tried the Ali Campbell method. I would say the I can make you thin book and cd are the best to start of with for PMK but if you can afford it go for a journal too as it does help keep you focussed.

How intense are the exercises you have to do? I just had knee operation and at the moment I am not able to exercise at all. I want to loose extra weight I put on after injury. I wont be able to exercise for the next 4-5months. Do you think that the rules made by Paul will help me?
Youtube example
The link is a sample of the tape that I have. Do you think you could manage that? I know what it feels like to be home bored with nothing to do. As you have access to the internet, search seated exercises on youtube, and try some of those, most are only a couple of minutes long.
If you follow the rules, I think they'll work, in fact I'm pretty sure as you sound like an emotional eater like myself!.
I had a good day yesterday, did some exercise, and went to a knife skills class to learn how to cut like a chef. We made coleslaw and brushetta, and I had some of that after the lesson, and took the rest home.
Today, it started off OK. I had an alpen bar. I had to leave out this morning and so I intended to do my exercises when I got in. When I finally got back home in a bad mood because of the news I got at my doctors, I was hungry so had some oven chips with the garlic mayonnaise I made to go with the coleslaw yesterday.
I didn't want to eat too much because I was supposed to be going out on a 1st date with this guy I've been talking to online.
Then my back and neck ceased up. Everything hurts. I've had to cancel the date and am feeling very sorry for myself. I've had a glass of baileys, then my mind started wondering to food, but I stopped and realised I wasn't hungry, so came and posted on here.
If anyone wants the video, let me know. I had to get rid of a lot of my dvds, so have ripped a load to my hard drive. I'm sure I could upload it somewhere?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
Hi all, I'm home again - thankfully! Not the best of trips eating wise - I fell into one of my old traps of bored and alone so ended up grazing for two days to fill the gaps. Sadly the gaps were emotional hunger not real hunger. However, trying to find the positive in the negative, this was the first time I'd not followed the plan in over a week and now I'm back at home I am back in control again. For me this is much more positive than the usual 'ah well I've blown it so may as well eat like a pig until weigh day' feelings!
Today is my day 9 following Paul McKenna and I'm 100% back on track - although the good thing about this system is that you don't feel as though you've fallen off track so much, just that you stopped listening to your body for a while. Having had too much yesterday, I wasn't really hungry until 2.00 today when I had some fresh french stick with ham, cheese and salad - gorgeous! Just getting hungry for dinner now although not really sure what to have...
I need to make time to listen to the CD again, get it back in my subconscious!
Maisie M - I'm glad you're still doing well, and still keeping me inspired with your posts.
Mintymoneysaver - 13lbs - well done you, thats fab! Do you feel better for it? Is the plan feeling more like second nature to you now after 2 months?
Hello to Guapa1 and Nanauw, glad to 'meet' you both.
Off to look in the freezer / fridge / cupboard to see what I want for dinner - I think soup and more fresh bread are calling me....
Take Care, Flossie x0 -
I do feel better for it, although I must admit to having slipped these last 2 days and just eaten rubbish! However tomorrow I will have a chance to listen to the CD again so I'm just seeing this as two days of being plan less, rather than a relapse!0

Thank you guys for all the comment.
I am not able to do any exercises at the moment
I had very bad accident. The car didnt stop on red light. I had 3 operations to save my knee ( I am only 27), for 6 months I wasnt walking at all (my other leg was broken). At the moment I am getting hydro but only 20min once a week. My muscles in both of my legs gone so its hard to walk. I know that putting on weight in this situation in the worst think I can do but I just have enough. I have to taking painkillers all the time and sweets are my painkillers
I will try Paul`s methor, hope it will help me.
Thanks guys0 -
Day 13
Well good day today. Revisited the hunger scale today and it was good to have that refresher as I had been mixing up my signals. I realise that I was waiting too long before I ate and therefore I was feeling too hungry when I wanted to eat something. I was also thinking I was more full up than I was and therefore getting hungry quicker and so on. So today I have been re evaluating my hunger signals and it has been working much better. I am still eating less but think I will maybe have to revisit this again every week or so just to keep on track until it becomes second nature.
Have been drinking quite a lot of water again today and only 3 cups of coffee, which is good so have managed to achieve this target twice this week. I am aiming to make this the norm too so that I am not even conscious of taking in the water. I also know that this will give benefits to my body in so many ways not just in terms of weight loss.
It’s my weigh in tomorrow but not sure how I will have done. My clothes do feel a bit looser and I did think about buying some new underwear for Xmas today in my normal size but decided not to as I know I want to lose more weight for then and if I bought something today hopefully it would be too big by then (or is that just wishful thinking lol).0 -
