Sorry to hear that Jojo and it's totally your decision but if will power is lacking then is WW the best way forward? When I did WW I needed a will of iron to resist all the high calorie foods I really wanted to eat.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. The best thing about PMK is you can always come back to it and try again - it's not like you have to keep paying a registration fee each time you join :rotfl::T

    Hi

Didn't get round to posting my thoughts last night as I got stuck into a couple of glasses of wine so here it is this morning instead. Should be back this evening for the next installment as no wine tonight - school night :rotfl:

    Day 15

Well weighed myself first thing to find I had lost 6lbs. A great feeling to know that I had lost a good amount in two weeks and have had the freedom to eat what I want, when I want it and to enjoy every mouthful. In the past I have had ‘treat’s when following a diet but even though I was allowed them as part of my syns or overall calories I still felt guilty about it. This method allows me to eat and not feel guilty which is such a great experience.

Having had such a good weigh in I kind of thought to myself that as I had been so good I would have a slightly less strict day today and get back on the wagon tomorrow, as I would have done on my other diets. However I didn’t want to. I had a roll and bacon for breakfast, then we went into town to get the family xmas cards. In town we went to Costa coffee and had a delicious hot chocolate (with the additional indulgence of whipped cream on top, but DS had the marshmallows!!). We also had a packet of mini brownie bites, I had three, DS had one and DP had 4. I was really good as the boys were trying to get me to have the last one but I refused as I just didn’t want it.

I then felt hungry around lunchtime and had a sausage roll. Again I have had lots of water to drink today and only one glass of hot chocolate, no coffee, which is amazing for me. I definitely feel better for drinking the water. I feel as though my head is clearer and I don’t crave coffee which I know also meant that I wanted to snack as I liked to have a biscuit, chocolate or cake with my coffee. I think identifying my need to have something to eat with my coffee was useful as it was more a habit than a need.

Dinner in the evening we had a Chinese takeaway and I had special fried rice. Very filling and I left some, which I never normally do. It was brilliant to enjoy one of my favourite Chinese meals and to eat it all and to feel comfortably full and satisfied as opposed to stuffed as I would have done in the past. I also enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine in the evening.

Start of a new two weeks before weigh in which will be on 6th December. I have two weigh ins until Christmas and really hope to have lost a stone by then. It would be fantastic to start the New Year as 14 stone something and possibly even fitting some of the clothes that are too tight for me.

Bitsy – good luck on your new start. The journal is great and I like flossie find it an invaluable tool.

Guapa – fantastic idea for a bookmark, a real motivator.

Snow white – well done on your baby steps. It does take a wee while to get used to if its something you are not used to doing.

Flossie – hope the rain isn’t affecting you too much. We have had it pretty bad here in Scotland and more expected today but my heart goes out to the people in the Lakes and in Dumfries.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Evening all!

Well yesterday I wasn't really hungry in the day. My friend was coming to take me to her house, and was cooking dinner. I tried to hold off and wait until I got to her house, but I was really really hungry, and ended up eating some sultana's a sandwich and an apple.

When I got to her house, I wasn't very hungry, but the food was yum and so I ate more than I should.

Today though, while she was out I did chairobics on sky and didn't eat until a lot later, and it was a small portion of food.

Hi Folks Yesterday's diary entry as I went to bed mega early to keep an eye on DS who was not very well.

    Day 16

Well a totally upside down day for me today. DS was very ill with the cold so I spent most of the day looking after him, making sure he drank plenty of fluids etc and kind of forgot about myself. Had made rolls and sausage for breakfast and a couple of has browns but I ended up only eating the two hash browns and half a roll and sausage cause I just didn’t want anymore. DP can’t believe the change as I can easily demolish two rolls with 4 sausages and 2 hash browns however since following Paul’s advice and listening to my body I realise that I just don’t need that. I now need to get my head round making smaller portions so there is less waste as it’s a bit bad to throw out one and a half rolls and three sausages!!

At lunchtime DS wanted dinner pancakes and maple syrup and as he was poorly I indulged him. I made two for each of us, but again I just wasn’t hungry enough for two and ended up leaving one. I had made a fresh loaf and some homemade vegetable soup for tea as I knew DS wouldn’t want much and I thought this would be nutritious and filling for us both. Unfortunately DS took quite poorly in the afternoon and I ended up going to bed with him at 5:30pm as he was so hot and tired. Eventually had some bread at 7:30pm when DS was tired and again made myself two slices with butter but could only manage to eat one and a half. Didn’t bother with the soup as by the time I had got round to having my tea I didn’t fancy it. Will keep it for tomorrow night though and freeze some too.

Didn’t do to bad at drinking water today but didn’t get the chance to listen to my CD as I was too concerned I may not hear DS if he had a problem. I did start reading the book again so that was good.
  • My day 13 and still following the rules as best I can and generally feeling pretty positive! I have my weigh in in two days and I'm amazed that I've stayed off the scales for this long! Definately feel like I've lost some weight but better still I feel like I'm in control.

I've just enjoyed a gorgeous dinner - made a cheesy potato bake and served it with gammon. All warm and satisfied now!

Maisie - hope your little one is feeling better today?

Guapa1 - well done on the chairobics.

    Hi

Finally caught up with my diary. have been fighting the lurgy and going to bed early so here is yesterday and today's encounters.

    Day 17

Horrendous night with DS as his temperature was sky high most of the night and I spent most of my time awake trying to cool him down. I have also woken with a slight cough, a tickly throat and a pounding headache so think I may be going down with the lurgy too. I decided to keep DS off school today as I wanted to monitor his temperature so I am not at work today. Food again will be an interesting challenge as I quite often feel either totally ravenous when ill or I don’t want to eat a thing. Breakfast I just had a small bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes and lunch was two wholemeal pitta breads and a small pot of red pepper humous.

DS has been great all day so definitely back to school for him tomorrow. I haven’t been fab but managed to have a catnap on the sofa whilst DS was watching Toy Story 2 and that seemed to help clear my headache. Didn’t fancy much for tea so just had a couple of baked at home rolls with some brie and grapes. Yummy. Really enjoyed them and felt totally satisfied afterwards.

Managed to drink loads of water today but hardly went for a wee so I can only assume my body was needing it to fight off the cold. An early night for me tonight and hopefully I will be better in the morning. Quite happy with handling my new eating regime whilst ill, another challenge out of the way!!

    Day 18

Feel much better today although still have a bit of a tickly cough around but it doesn’t seem to be too irritating which is good. Had a bowl of cornflakes for brekkie and then off to work. I haven’t really thought about food much for the last couple of days and I am not sure if that’s cause I am now feeling at ease with the fact that I can eat whatever I want as long as I follow the rules or whether I haven’t been feeling 100% and therefore not wanting to eat that much anyway. Remembered to take my ½ litre water bottle to work today and I made an effort to drink it and refill it from the water cooler in work twice today. Lunch was a roll and roast beef bought from the bakers as I didn’t feel like making anything to take with me today and decided to just wait and see what I felt like having at lunch time.

I did have a double biscuit at 11am as I was feeling hungry and it was two hours until lunchtime but again I was hungry, I enjoyed it and savoured every mouthful (infact I don’t think it’s ever taken me so long to eat a biscuit:rotfl:). Had dinner when I came home which was a chicken pie and beans as I didn’t fancy any potatoes. I haven’t wanted anything to eat this evening and have managed to drink another two glasses of water this evening so I am happy with that.

I haven’t listened to my CD for the past couple of nights as both of us have been ill but I will make an effort to restart the CD tomorrow night. I have continued with the food diary so have been getting some motivation.

Flossie - Good luck for your weigh in. Can't wait to hear how you have got on.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.
  • Morning all,

Its my 15th day on the plan and therefore my first weigh in day - and I am very happy that I am 8 lbs lighter than when I started! I'm happy with that, especially given my day 8 and 9 slip up! The next two weeks should be interesting now as Christmas party season starts soon - haven't really had much in the way of alcohol this last few weeks so I'll have to take it easy and try to avoid being in too much of a food & alcohol together situation as I suspect that this is when the eating slowly and savouring every mouthful rule will become much harder to follow! I am hoping to follow the plan over Christmas though as it makes so much sense - have a little of what you fancy but stop when you are full. Thats the plan anyway....

As for today, I have a cracking headache but I don't think I drunk enough yesterday so I'm attacking it with water for now to see if that helps. No Brekkie yet, not sure what I fancy. Limited to what I have under my desk (tin of peaches or cup a soups) or toast. Strangely peaches are calling to me!

Maisie - Glad you're doing OK and that both of you are feeling better. It sounds like you really are in the swing of this now.

Catch up later, better get on with some work now I suppose...

Maisie, glad to hear you and ds re feeling better. Reading your post has made me want pancakes!
Well done Flossie, that's amazing! I'm starting to think I should weigh myself... No, I won't because I don't actually lose loads of weight, I lose inches. When I was an 18 a few years ago, I found that I only lost a stone but went down to a size 12/10. I need to get a tape measure.

Well the past 2 days have been OK, I've not done any exercise, but done one of the mirror techniques. I've also been trying to focus on stopping when I'm full, I seem to find that really hard, because if something tastes nice, I just keep on eating! I think I my hve made breakthrough though, my mum came in last night and gave me come of her baileys chocolate truffle bar, I had a square even though I wasn't hungry and my belly started hurting, and is still hurting!

I'm going to try and do some exercise today. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi all. Last couple of days have been a bit hit and miss. I haven't listened to the CD at all but I can't when the kids are up and if I do it when I go to bed I fall asleep :o there are areas I need to work on but I am glad as I've got something to aim at - Rome wasn't built in a day and I think the reason I've got disheartened before is I've not had instant progress and expected to change a lot of things in one go. I wish there was more room in the journal to write some thoughts etc but I like it as a visual reminder to follow the guidelines. Am sitting here typing with a massive urge to snack but I've drunk some squash instead and it's better :D So going to tackle one bad habit at a time.

Well done flossie on your 8lb loss :D
