Welcome JoJo! Hiya Flossie, please to 'meet' you too.
Been up since about 3 this morning because of pain. Had some toast about 4, feeling peckish again, but will have some water and see how I go.
No exercise tooday, just my normal stretching. Hope everyone has a great day!Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
Day 14
Well what a silly I am. I was all geared up for weighing this morning and when I looked at my journal it’s tomorrow I am supposed to weigh myself lol. Anyway listened to the CD again last night and combined with having read the hunger scale again I felt very motivated this morning. I am quite happy with my eating today and feel that I did eat when I was hungry and it was much easier to identify when I was properly full up. I amazed myself by having a sandwich for lunch and then allowing myself a slab of cheesecake as I still felt I wasn’t full. However I only ate about half of the cheesecake and left the rest. Normally I would have eaten it all despite being full up and made myself feel sick in the end!! I did feel a bit guilty about the waste but better in the bin than in me.
Doing well in drinking water again today and I have made sure I have drunk about 2 litres during the day today as my partner and I like to share a bottle of wine on a Friday night and don’t want to count that as part of my fluid intake. I have also been quite active today doing the housework and worked harder than normal just to get my body moving. The house is sparkling and I felt good from having given it such a good clean. I also did about 2 hours of ironing which made that all up to date. So I am now sitting feeling quite virtuous in a nice clean house with all my washing and ironing up to date. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I did feel as though I had a bit more energy than normal today.
Anyway role on weigh in tomorrow I really am quite excited to see what has happened and I could either be elated or in the doldrums tomorrow!!!
Welcome JoJo good luck on your weightloss journey
Guapa hope you are not in as much pain now and that you have had a good day0 -
Hey, good to see everyone's doing so well. Maisie, your posts are really useful.
I've not been doing so well, but that's because I've not followed the programme that well, not because the programme isn't working. I'm having medical tratment where I have to fast occasionally and it's really thrown me. I also had a stomach bug and wasn't allowed to eat properly for a week. Recently I had to fast for 24 hours for some tests - I wasn't even allowed to drink water - and then the hospital made me wait ages for a blood test. I was so hungry and thirsty and faint I ended up bursting into tears in front of the whole waiting room! But that shows that I've got used to eating when I'm hungry, which is a good thing.
The other difficulty is eating slowly as I often don't have time for a proper meal during the week. It is ridiculous and a sign that I need to change my lifestyle.
But as PMK says, it's the direction you're going in which is the most important thing and I think we're still all plodding forwards! :j
nanaw - welcome and good luck with your recovery hon.0 -
Hiya Snow White, sorry to hear about your health. I hate when they make you wait knowing you haven't been allowed to eat, it's evil!
Maisie, I look forward to your post tomorrow!
Day was an odd one, in hospital for more tests then an eye test. I got home ready to cook stew that I knew was going to take ages to cook, but had planned to have a cupcake while it was cooking.
I ended up eating it and a couple of biscuits as I was hungrier than I thought, then I go to put the cooker on, and it's not working!
God knows what's wrong with it. I was going to get a takeaway, but money is tight and because I had the cupcake, I didn't want to eat at that time.
Now, I've been up for nearly 24 hours now, hope I can sleep! Night all xGetting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
quick update, weighed myself this morning and I've lost 6lbs :j.
Really happy with that as I have so enjoyed the food I have been eating the last couple of weeks, not feeling deprived at all and feeling like I have indulged when needed. This is great as opposed to any other 'diet' I have been on which has either limited calories, carbs or has you juggling points or syns. Just hope the next two weeks are as good.
Catch up with you again this evening.0 -
Well done Maisie that's fab
My journal came yesterday so today is Day 1. I am determined that this journal will help me keep focused on changing my habits. I find it all too easy to slip back into the usual ways.
I have been thinking about all the times I eat and one of the worst is when I am on the computer. It also tends to be when I am feeling bit lonely, not sure what to do with myself or just to pass the time. Need to work on these areas and not automatically reach for food in these instances
So I have had my breakfast, enjoyed it and I am now full (but not full to bursting) Will pack the journal in my handbag so I have it with me all the time.
Right off to have a drink of water (as I don't drink enough full stop so this WILL be a challenge!).I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Woohoo Maisie well done!
Bitsy, I think the journal is useful. My bookmark is a picture of me at the size I want to get back to.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
OK, I'm still too sore to do my exercise, but I'm really wanting to do something. I googled seated exercise and found the following:
I'll say though, if you're in any type of pain, talk to your doctor first.
Sitting yoga
Yoga with a chair
Seated exercises
Seated workout that needs props
Stretching exercises (notice I left the senior bit off lol)Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
:TWell done Maisie!:T
I've done a little better today ... baby steps0 -
Evening all, hope you’ve all had a good Saturday. We’ve had dreadful weather here in Wales so I’ve had a lovely lazy day just relaxing in the house with OH and the dogs. We did venture out with the dogs this morning but have stayed in the warm ever since!
I’ve been on plan eating wise today, we had a cooked breakfast midday which has kept me satisfied all afternoon and I’m just about to dish up a homemade curry for dinner – yum! Been sipping on my water, although I’ve also had endless cups of tea today! This plan has definitely stopped my snacking, and apart from those two days away I can’t say that I’ve really thought about food too much. However, I am aware that I’m probably not having as much fruit and veg as I should, def not getting my five a day so would like to consciously include some more every day.
Maisie, well done on the 6lbs, that’s absolutely fantastic. I don’t think you’d have lost any more on one of the more traditional plans and this way you’ve had what you wanted without feeling deprived – what a result!
Snow white, Guapa and Nanaw – I hope you are all having a pain-free day. Your stories all make me realise how I take good health far too much for granted, particularly when I’ve abused my body with food for so long. Lets all give this programme our all so we can all look forward positively. Sending you all hugs (((( ))))
Hello Jojo, hope your day 2 has gone well?
Bitsy, I love my journal, find it really helpful. I even find myself thinking through the day ‘that’s good, need to make a note in my journal’! I find listening to the CD a bit odd (I feel embarrassed and have no idea why?!!) but I love reading the book and making my own notes in the journal.
I’m not sure if any of you already subscribe, but I also enjoy a free weekly email from a guy called Mike Scott. He lost a lot of weight (through the Cambridge diet but that’s kind of by the by) and now does a lot of work on the emotional aspects of eating and food. He also has an archive of all his old newsletters and I find some of the NLP type exercises that he does really useful such as focusing on what you really want rather than on what you don’t e.g. instead of ‘I don’t want to be the fat mum at the playground gates’ concentrate on ‘I want to be slim and healthy so I can enjoy playing with my family’ – the message is the same but you’re concentrating on the positive and what you do want rather than what you don’t. I’m not sure if I can post the link on here but if you Google Mike Scott Newsletter you’ll find the archive.
Have a great Saturday night and enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Flossie xxx0
