Can i join you? I have been low carbing and it is fantastic when i'm not at uni. But i cant do it when i'm there, is just not practical!
Did the Paul McKenna system a few years ago and lost about 1 1/2 stone, lost track of it though and have put maybe 3/4 of a stone back on so need to re educate my body. Thankfully i'm very good at realising when i'm full, just need to get the hang of my emotional eating:o Its exam time at uni just now so very stressed! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Morning all.
I'm feeling a bit better this morning, and am going to do some stretches. I ended up not eating at all yesterday, every time I thought I was hungry, I had some water and was fine. Is that weird? Even now I'm not hungry, maybe because I've not been using any energy?
Maisie, I hope you feel 100% soon. I don't see anything wrong with changing your weigh in days, go for it.
Flossie, cheese stuffed chicken with chips and mushroom sounds like heaven!
Minty, well done on the weight loss, you needed some assistance and weighing yourself helped, then so be it!
Welcome gunsandbanjoes! How long are you off uni now?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -

Today has been a good day for me. I had 1 slice of apple from my toddler, and then a slice of toast for brekkie. I didn't feel hungry, but very sick, so needed something in my tummy!
Went to pick out my allotment this morning, so that is going to give me some much needed exercise. (I walk a lot with the little one, but that mainly consists of me dandering along with her, and occasionally telling her to hurry up as she likes to stop and look at everything!!!)
For lunch we had cous cous with beef and veg. I ate about a cupful, a LOT less than I normally do. That was at 1, and I am still comfortably full at 4.30.
My ambition is to get through the pregnancy with no weight gain. I think it is do-able if I stick to eating this way. I was 112kg before, and am now 97 at weigh in at doc's a couple of weeks ago.
Drinking lots of water. Boy does that make a difference or what? Amazing how I want to graze some days, and then realise that I haven't been drinking regularly.
Got to go now as my wee one has discovered me and peace has gone!!!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Hi all
Catch up from me for the past couple of days
Day 22
Lovely relaxing day today. Had a bacon roll for breakfast this morning and then around lunchtime we went into town briefly to get a few bits and DS wanted a MacDonalds. So I had a chicken burger, medium fries and a coffee. It was lovely to be able to eat a fast food meal without feeling guilty and trying to work out how many syns/calaroies or points were in it. However the best thing I noticed was that due to my reduced appetite buying the meal was cheaper as normally I would have had a big Mac or special chicken meal with large fries!!! Had a lovely home made beef stroganoff for dinner at night with crusty bread and sour cream. Had bought a pudding and cream for afterwards but I was too full to eat it so I have popped the pudding in the freezer and kept the cream for during the week and I will make DS some jelly and cream. Again I was fine drinking water during the day again so I think that has definitely become a way of life for me. In fact I even found myself taking a bottle of water with me to drink whilst we were out. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine in the evening but didn’t have any snacks with them as I was still satisfied after my meal. Still haven’t listened to the CD this week but I haven’t felt that I have needed the extra motivation as yet.
Day 23
Good day again today. I woke up feeling quite hungry today. I had a cup of coffee when I got up but I was still hungry so I had two rolls and sausage for my breakfast. I felt pleasantly full when I had finished so I know I hadn’t overeaten even though it was more than I have been having for breakfast recently. I did some housework today so had a bit of exercise hovering, dusting and ironing. Didn’t fancy any lunch so I decided to have some crisps. I had a family sized bag which in the past I would have happily munched my way through but today I only had 10 crisps and then I didn’t want any more so the rest have gone back in the cupboard for another day. I then had a chilled out afternoon and for tea I had a home made chicken curry with rice. I made a smaller portion of rice and had one ladle full of curry, the rest I will freeze in ladleful portions for other times.
I am feeling confident around food now and my experience with the crisps has just reinforced to myself that I am learning when to stop, when to say no, how to moderate my portions and how to enjoy food instead of it being a chore I thought about 24/7. I really would like to up my fruit and vegetables intake and I think this will be my challenge for the forthcoming week. For the past three weeks whilst doing the system I have been having the food that I want to eat and oddly enough even though I enjoy fruit and vegetables these haven’t featured very often. I think it is because I am having the foods that I enjoy and want after having years of having to ration them or do without. Now I feel I am at a stage where I am happy eating what I want, I also want to incorporate what’s good for me as well.
Fine with drinking water again today so no problems there and I will definitely be listening to my CD tonight as it’s the start of week four and I really want to make sure I am motivated this week. I think it’s the start of my ‘cycle’ week which can be a huge challenge for me in regard to chocolate so it will be interesting.
Flossie - funny I have been enjoying cooking again this weekend having made a stroganoff yesterday and a chicken curry today. It's great being able to freeze a few portions away aswell whereas normally I would only have either one or two extra portions left.
Minty - good luck for your weigh in in a few days. A 1lb loss when you haven't really been following the system is cool, shows it must be partially in your subconscious.
Gunsandbanjos - Hi and welcome to the merry band. good luck with getting back on the system.
Guapa - glad you are feeling a wee bit better and hope the stretching helped.
Rosie - will be watching you following the plan with interest. DH and I are trying for a baby but have had an ectopic in April and a miscarriage a 14 weeks in October so we are waiting til January to try again. This is part of the reason for me starting this as I was trying to find a system that I could carry on for the whole pregnancy if we are luckier the next time.0 -
Sorry I've not been really updating how journal etc is going. got a truly AWFUL cold (not flu - temp got close to 38 degrees but not quite) and honestly I've had very little appetite. So as such I've paused in my PMK journal and will start again when my appetite returns.
Good to see all the updates - keep going ladies and congrats to Rosie on your pregnancy. Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

A wee update. I went to my GP today, as I had some bloods done a few weeks ago and needed the results. My cholesterol is low, my other bloods are better than expected for my grand old age of 42!!!!! Happy days. I also got weighed, and have gone down to 94.4kg. That is a loss of 2.6kg in about 3 weeks or so. It's great as we have just had Eid and I nibbled a wee bit only. I had a load of friends round yesterday and served finger foods only. I literally had just 3 bits and was so hungry when they all left that I made 2 slices of toast with beans on top. Managed to eat one slice before dd1 discovered me, and I was only too happy to let her hoover up the second slice. Normally I would have eaten 3 slices myself and not even noticed it!!!!!
Got the keys to our new allotment yesterday and have been up with dh this morning for a couple of hours of digging. Anyone know if this is ok in the first weeks of pregnancy?
Maisie: I'm sorry to hear about your ectopic and miscarriage. I really hope your next pregnancy goes well for you. At least you know you are fertile which is positive. 14 weeks is a hard time to lose a baby. My thoughts are with you.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Hi guys,
I start using Paul`s method 2 weeks ago. Since I start using this method I almost dont eat anything (any kind of food). I dont feel hungry. Some days I am not eating food at all.
I contact my GP and he said that I have to eat something. He knows that I have to loose weight because I had 2 serious knee operations but not eating is not healthy according to him. I still didnt loose any weight.
Just wanted to ask if anyone has got similar problem?0 -
Rosie - I think digging would be fine in early pregnancy just be aware that hormones being released will relax your ligaments so just make sure you don't pull a muscle going at it hammer and tongs. Be aware of animal faeces in the soil so best wear some gloves (don't want toxiaplasmosis!).
nanaw - not had that problem - you should be feeling hungry at some point. Are you finding it hard to tune into how your body is feeling? Say do you notice a hollow feeling in your belly area? Are you stressed about anything? Are you in good health (apart from your knee?) I agree with your GP not eating isn't healthy and PMK doesn't advocate it either. Perhaps you could try tuning in to your body and what it's feeling say once every hour and see how you get on. Sorry not much help thereI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I'm feeling the same, I ate nothing on all day Saturday, and only ate on Sunday because I thought I needed to.
In my case I think it's emotional and also maybe a symptom of whatever I have wrong with me. Every time I've been to see a specialist they've said I'm not fitting into X condition because I'm not losing weight and seem to be eating normally.
Hi everyone, not really much to say. I feel like I'm always moaning so am going to lurk for a while. I'll be cheering you all on from the sidelines x :beer:Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0
