I am finding my eating patterns are all over the place at the mo!!!! If I don't eat, I feel sick, then after I eat, I feel sick also, mainly in the afternoon. I'm having 2 slices of toast with Marmite for brekkie as soon as I get up, otherwise I just feel sick all morning. Lots of water definitely helps.
I've got a 'thing' for salt n vinegar crisps, and pickled gherkins. YUM!!! Made a lovely dinner for the family yesterday, then couldn't face it, so had a sandwich of cheese, marmite and pickled gherkins! DH is just laughing, but my 11 yr old dd doesn't know I'm pregnant, and thinks I am just being really weird. She also doesn't understand why I am 'getting away' with not eating proper dinners, and eating rubbish at odd times!!!!
Maisie: As far as drinking water goes, I have a big glass, about a pint size. I leave it sitting beside the sink, and every time I am washing up, cooking, or going in to the kitchen to do anything, I just fill it with nice cold water and drink! The days when I don't do this, I just want to graze all day, and definitely don't have anywhere near as good a day.
So, try it as a routine. Have a 'specific' big glass, which is just for this purpose, and see how you go.
I'm off to have a big glass now that I think about it!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Oh, and if I had just kept losing weight instead of putting it all back on over the years, I wouldn't be here now!!!!!!! My biggest weight loss was almost 7 stone about 12 years ago. Since then, I have yo-yo'd constantly. Up a stone, down a stone! If I count up all the weight loss I have managed in my life, it would probably be over 20 stone!!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Hi everyone. I've just started with the system, I'm hoping to lose at least one stone but hopefully two by the time I get married in 15 weeks (argh! that came round quick!).
I'm only on day 2 so far and keep having to remind myself to eat more slowly, etc, haven't managed to drink any water at all yet though. Finding it hard to judge my hunger on a scale but will get there eventually. I went to the gym tonight for a full hour and definitely put more effort into it as I was busy squeezing my thumb and middle finger to motivate me whilst listening to really good music on my Ipod. I think it worked as I usually only last 40 minutes at most. I have got the 5 CD set and have loaded most of them into my Ipod so I can listen to them in bed, must get round to doing the last one!
I'm crap at diets and I exercise very sporadically so it's either this or wiring up my jaws, lol.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
Hi all,
Sorry I've been away for so long, and I hope you're all OK. I was involved in a minor car accident but it has left me in absolute agony. I seem to have irritated my sciatic nerve which has affected my left side from the waist down. I'm on the mend but still feeling spacy from the painkillers and have a numb foot which seems to have taken on a life of its own! Back in work today though which is a start.
Haven't really given Paul M much thought over the last 10 days but some of the principles have remained ingrained in me. Just going to concentrate on getting better for a bit but thought I'd check in and say hello!
Take Care all, Flossie xxx0 -
Mollymunchkin - welcome. Ooooh a wedding in 15 weeks how exciting. wishing you all the best on your weight loss.
Flossie - ogh you poor thing no wonder you haven't been thinking about the system. Hope you feel better soon.
Well I have been out of routine for the past few days as DS has the chickenpox so I have been home with him. The eating has been fine and I have managed to get back on track with drinking water again. Hope to get my diary restarted tomorrow. Only 8 days to my next weigh in so need to make sure I stick to the system. My period has finally come so that should help with some weight loss as I feel as though I have been retaining water for about 10 days or is that just wishful thinking :rotfl:
Hope everyone else is okay.0 -
Evening everyone.
Longish absence after being poorly so decided to go back to day one (which was yesterday) and start from scratch again. I refrained from weighing myself today which I am really pleased about. Not drunk the water I should have though as was stuck at Dr's this morning with poorly child and he's been clinging to me ever sincethere were just a couple of occasions today where I snacked a bit mindlessly but on the whole it's been a good day. I've also started writing a journal each day (as the PMK doesn't have enough space for my ramblings LOL!).
I've said it before but I will say it again my biggest problem is effort - I find it all too easy to fall back into old habits which is why I am hoping the journal and writing my own will keep me focused. I am going to aim for 90 days at a time rather than keep thinking about this being it for life - I think baby steps is the best I can do at the moment.
Flossie - sorry to hear about your accident.
Mollymunchkin - welcome
Maisie - hope you DS gets over the pox soon xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hello
Can I join you all? I've been trying to follow the PMK way of eating for 3 days now, going alright so far but not fully there yet. I've tried this a few times and once I felt like it was starting to work, then I just found it difficult to keep up.
Been reading through this thread for a few days and it is really good to have somewhere to discuss it. I've been debating whether it is worth going along on one of Paul's seminars, has anyone been and if so what did you think?
I'm keeping my own diary as I don't want to buy a new journal, and anyhow there was never enough space for me to write everything I wanted to!
Been enjoying it so far, really trying hard to eat conciously, its so difficult sometimes especially at work or when I'm in a hurry - I really need to start making time for this.0 -
Hi folks
sorry I have been Missing in Action but was admitted to hospital as an emergency and am now in recuperation. Needless to say Paul McK has taken a back seat. I am resting for the remainder of December and will be back with a vengence in the New Year. Hope you are all well.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.0 -
Sorry to hear that Maisie, hope your recuperation goes well. I have to admit that the last 15 pages in mydiary have yet to be filled , too many things got in the way but I am still trying and again, will be back in the New Year!:beer:0

welcome Ema-o. You will get there, and this is a good on-line community right here. Bit of crack and a bit of encouragement never goes amiss. sorry to hear you are having problems Maisie. Look after yourself.
I have no idea what my weight is doing at the mo. Had a very rough week as you can check out on this thread -

Feeling more hopeful now, as you will see if you read through to last pages, but i have to admit to going to Tesco an the way home from the hospital and buying a big Aero ( still have a wee bit left!) and a 5 pack of Kit Kat Chunky. Donated one to dd1, but scoffed the other 4 in 2 days. Mind you, normally I would have had half of them eaten on the way home and finished the rest the same day. Been better over the last few days. mainly because we are snow-bound, and I don't have much to graze on at home. Thank God.
If you read my other thread, you will get an idea of what is going on. I will keep you posted gilrs.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
