What exactly is the hypnosis described in this thread?
Studies show that people simple follow what an authority figures tells them to do (i.e. you do what the hypnotists tells you in the same way as you can be commanded by a policeman or a teacher), or wanting to lose weigh correlates with people losing weight (and coincidentally seeing a hypnotist at the same time).
What studies are those. lets see a link.
Seriously, do an experiment where you convince people to do something they do not want to do.
That shows just how much you know about hypnosis. A little knowledge is a bad thing and you have very little knowledge
Get some smokers who love smoking and in no way want to give up and convince them not to smoke with just hypnosis. This is why McKenna screens people on his stage shows;
false logic. what is the link between a stage show and therapy to give up smoking
some people just don't want to look like a fool on stage and cannot be convinced to, other people will happily do as they are expected to do.
Yes jackass runs along the same principle yet it manages to create entertainment but its not hypnosis
You say that "if you get the result you want then thats all that matters". Does it not bother you that you might be selling a service that doesn't actually work?
Duh if it gets the result its worked
I'd rather people lost weight because of self-control and self-confidence and not because they believe they have had a spell cast on them.
Only an idiot believes hypnosis is casting spells. If people lost weight by the methods you describe they wouldnt need to see a hypnotist would they?

Hi folks :hello:
I've been MIA but enjoying myself! A great day out in Derbyshire on Friday then a lovely walk in the country today:D I feel nice and relaxed now and ready to go back to work (not) tomorrow:rolleyes:
I've been eating by my hunger scale rather than the clock and am ready to weigh myself tomorrow :eek:(day 15)
Today I didn't eat my packed lunch when we stopped as I wasn't hungry :j and when we went in a cafe later I had a small piece of cake but left a bitnow that IS a first!!
I'm going to see how I feel in the morning and if I'm not hungry (I get up at stupid o clock for work) I'll take something with me to eat later.
Hope you've all coped with the forums closed, I even resorted to talking to OH :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Gosh it's quiet :rolleyes:
WI yesterday and I'd lost 2lbs.....bit disappointed but still
Sadly I lost the plot last night :mad: tinternet was off, cable tv playing up and I'd finished my book so it was eat or sleep.........hopefully it will be better today.
Hope everyone else is ok :j0 -
Morning all, just weighed in on 2nd week and stayed the same, but i'm still happy. Not been 100% this week, but still ahead of my target of 2.5 lbs a week after losing 6lbs last week. Hope you are all doing well x0

morning vicks and well done on being on target. I think this is why he suggests we dont jump on the scales as much so that we are more focused on a downward trend rather than a one week result - having said that I am also still getting weighed once a week but I think in the early days for me anyway it is a real motivator.
So my Friday weigh in was 2 lb off which is great but I know I have kinda messed that up over the weekend:o not so much with the food btw I am really sticking to PMKs rules and they really fit with my style of eating but I did go somewhat OTT with the wine which wont help. Hey ho I will practise what I preach and be happy with an overall downward trend:rotfl:
Off to Costco today to pick up a few trays of the 75ml waters - my tap water is shockingly bad so not very mse but they are pretty cheap and I find if I have one of these bottles morning aft and night I know I am sticking to my water need.
Just been an advert on telly for the change for life campaign and its all about eating "me size meals" rather than just eating for the sake of it - do you think PMK is on the case:rotfl:
Sorry for the waffle and have a great day all0 -
Hi All, Well done on the losses, great work keep it up! Sorry I've been AWOL, our computer had a virus and someone was using our broadband connection to send dodgy emails! :eek: Sky then disconnected our service!! Aaaah!
My hubby is back from China and just as I suspected, its harder to do this programme with him around! Not only did I have the curry with the girls/alcohol night on Friday but I had another takeaway on Saturday night with him! I need a stronger supply of willpower to get through this! Hubby said he may be going to China again next week, so that'll help!- Not that I want him to go of course.
I really need to figure out a way of doing this while him (and the kids who are on Easter hols) are around.... :think:
Thanks also go to absolutebounder :T:D , great reply!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
OOh! This is tricky doing this in the Easter hols! When hubby and the kids want to eat it's difficult not having something with them!
Everybody else has gone quiet on this thread too, hope you're all keeping on the straight and narrow! (?) I'm watching ya!(well, if it helps, you can pretend I am!
)
Remember ladies (gents?) if you do stray, you can always go back to this plan, at any time...
Think of what you want to be slim for... what you will look like when you are.... Is there an event you want to be slim for?.... keep these thoughts in mind and they'll help you to keep going...
Today is another day, so good luck to everyone!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

I find it harder to stick to it now I'm back at work:rotfl:
At home I get up, have a brew and don't have brekkie for a couple of hours but when I'm working I eat almost as soon as I get up! At work I can only eat at certain times so have to eat sometimes if I'm not hungry as if I don't eat I'll be starving later and eat too much
4 days at home now might help and then after Easter my boss goes on holiday for 2 weeks so I might get away with it..........;)
It has gone quiet, I've had internet probs at home and at work though.
I had a connection for a whole 5 mins last night before it failed again! We've no interactive tv either so I'm bored and keep wandering into the kitchen
*note to self, buy a book and start knitting again*0 -
Another 2lbs off - I want to have Paul Mckennas children:rotfl:
Have a great easter folks and eat those eggs nice and slowly:D0 -
Well done Nelski! :T I personally wouldn't go that far though! :rotfl:(bit too smarmy for my taste
)
I have to say I'm stiill struggling at the moment. Luckily(naughty me!) hubby is going to China again on Sunday.
It will give me chance to give myself another [STRIKE] kick up the bum[/STRIKE] quickstart!
Enjoy your Easter weekend!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0
