Paul McKenna "I Can Make You Thin!"

  • There's no evidence that the concept of hypnosis even exists. Studies find that you cannot make someone do something they don't want to do by 'hypnosis' e.g. people who do not want to give up smoking cannot be made give up.

It's very simple why people say this works; people who want to lose weight tend will follow the programme. Any weight loss is down to you wanting to lose weight; not some hocus pokus.

Empower yourself: decide to lose weight for yourself and don't pretend that someone with magic powers is the only thing helping you.

Thank you for you useful comments spaceraiders. As I make my living out of hypnosis I reckon its a bit more than hocus pocus but hey whether you believe in it or you dont - if you get the result you want then thats all that matters. I hope your weight loss method is effective for you;)

Hi Everyone, I do Paul Mckenna too, started about 11 months ago and lost 1.5 stone, then I put a bit back on over christmas etc and I really need to kick strat it again. Unfortunatly it is one of those things where you have to concentrate a fair bit on what you are doing otherwise you slip back into old habits  . So well done to all of you doing so well, keep it up and if you don't mind I might keep bobbing on here to keep me motivated!!

People make a living out of fortune telling, astrology, witch craft etc. that doesn't make any of those things real so your argument holds no weight. There is no research that shows the hypnosis describe in this thread exists. Studies show that people simple follow what an authority figures tells them to do (i.e. you do what the hypnotists tells you in the same way as you can be commanded by a policeman or a teacher), or wanting to lose weigh correlates with people losing weight (and coincidentally seeing a hypnotist at the same time).

Seriously, do an experiment where you convince people to do something they do not want to do. Get some smokers who love smoking and in no way want to give up and convince them not to smoke with just hypnosis. This is why McKenna screens people on his stage shows; some people just don't want to look like a fool on stage and cannot be convinced to, other people will happily do as they are expected to do.

You say that "if you get the result you want then thats all that matters". Does it not bother you that you might be selling a service that doesn't actually work? I'd rather people lost weight because of self-control and self-confidence and not because they believe they have had a spell cast on them.

Some reading on the hoax of hypnosis:

    Hi folks :hello:

Just back from our shopping trip :D my feet are killing me, I did my Camilla Dallerup dvd first thing this morning then I've walked miles round the shops:rolleyes:

QS - Easiyo is a yoghurt making system and I get the sachets of yoghurt mix from Lakeland - it's delicious  far nicer than any you can buy in the shops. I bought greek style and lemon  It has it's own thread on the OS board!
I sealed a bag of crisps with a klippit the other day!

We did have lunch out but I was hungry, I had a cheese and red onion pannini which was very nice, I put it down between every bite and I left a bit as I was full :D

    Hi all...

I'm totally new here and very interested in using the Paul McKenna program. I have read as much as I can ... and have decided that this is the path I wish to follow. I have been very impressed reading some of the successes from some of the posters. I can only hope that I, too, will be as successful.

I'm not certain if this is allowed or not... but, on the sign-up page for the McKenna site, it asks for a discount promo code (from a sticker on the book). Does anyone have this promo code.... and would you mind sharing it? If I've overstepped, I apologize. I would really like to sign up, but with money being tight, I thought it might be acceptable to ask about this discount promo.

Many thanks, in advance! And... good luck for continued success w/ Paul McKenna! :T
