Right, the thread's moving far too quick for me to keep up (and comment) lol so I'm offski's to eat me pie 'n' chips and watch the box. Watched the first hour of Mel Gibsons Apocolypto last night, hope it's repeated cause it was reet good, if enormously gory. I want to know what happens.....

Unfortunately DD doesn't have many friends and this girl lives close by so they can walk to school etc.together. She's quite an odd thing and doesn't ever talk to me much. Her family are in some sort of evangelical church (neither parent works, father is carer for disabled son who has a terminal illness and is wheelchair bound) which they are heavily involved in and they are 'different' IYSWIM...so I will persist with her. Her dad chats - mum doesn't:confused:. So I have asked DD if she thanks when she goes there ...
She (the friend) does say thanks now when I give the girls a lift partway to school (because it's on my way - DD and DS walk when I am not at work.) I will regard her as a 'work in progress'.
They gor a Wii for xmas in that family. Between the kids. That was it. Oh DDs friend gor £5 from 1 aunt and £10 from another. Maybe that's why my DD appreciates what she gets, having a friend from a 'poor' family (compared with us...I am just above free schoolmeals income:rotfl: )
you will def be an angel in heaven - what a star you are for giving her another chance :A and making her 'your work in progress' - she might just have a chance of turning out a nice person with you taking her in hand!
    toots xx

I did some training with Dawna Walters when I learned my House Doctor stuff (she's friends with Ann so they had her on the courses)
Ooh!! We know someone who knows someones famous!
I loved watching House Doctor except when she had a go at 'small British homes' It's a small island - we don't have the space for big American houses!

Well I finally tested my smoke alarm - combination of pigpen and Julie Walters nagging :rotfl:and it was OK
And did some shredding and paper clearing. Will need to go through drawers again though, I'm sure I don't need to keep most of that stuff, but some of it is sentimental (if you can be sentimental about old work stuff) However I now realise my computer desk is fairly tidy (probably because most of the desk clutter is on the other desk under the stairs)

  • lil-me......it wouldnt happen to be a samsung omnia, by anychance?

I've got a Samsung - kept crashing on me and I lost loads of stuff - sent it back three times when I demanded a new one - they said they try to repair it twice and if still wrong, then they will replace... doesn't replace the stuff you loose tho does it and they don't pay for the harddrive to be saved either...

EDIT: DOH! I thought you were talking about laptops for some reason - not mobiles...

I have 8gb of on board memory and it kept saying memory full when i knew it was nowhere near full so i put another 8gb memory card into it, and still the samr message came up!!! so they said that it was a hardware fault.....twice!!!

Ah I haven't see that. I used to have a Samsung which is why I wasn't too worried about getting another. Got me worried now though :rotfl:

No Valli - Comedy, Disco, Funk, Norther soul, Pop (60s), Pop (70s), Soul - is how I would do it, so they are in alphabetical order...:o That's really quite sad with the little girl, fingers crossed with your input she'll pick up a little more socially bless her. Shocked your DD classes that sort of gift as the family being poor.
embb sorry to hear your DS1 is one of those to go, noone we know was told that early that their jobs were definately unsafe....they were told they were going onto reduced hours, possibly few months on half pay but nothing mentioned about redundancies. I just can't see them getting 800 to go voluntarily as they have stated so far.

**I'm quietly pleased DP didn't buy the Omnia which he's now saying he wished he got instead!Sounds like they are just as bad**

Ds2 just been told off for just dropping stuff on the floor, he's not happy with me but like I said at the minute I can't physically pick things up so he's going to have to pick things up for himself for a bloomin' change! I should have said the same to his Dad before he left, actually he did carry a load of washing upstairs for me, but that is all he's done for me/himself today....

Have put another wash load in and filled DW which is now on. Once DW is empty there is a load of trays to go in, my oven shelf (solid one) has some mysterious yellow stuff on it, no idea what that is. Trying to decide how much/little I am going to do tonight.
One day I might be more organised...........

Arghhh help the star drops is making my hands sore and I hate cleaning with gloves on. Do you think it will be ok to keep using it, I really do like how it gets things clean and I really hate gloves.

I can't stand gloves either ZLS, but don't make your hands bad because of them - it's easy to get dermatitis from something like that...

What about the surgical type gloves? I can wear them because they fit tight...
