  • Confession time: I didn't clean the bathroom yesterday as planned (I've joined this thread too late to start from the beginning so I thought I'd do the worst room first.), and I haven't done it today either! However, I did lots of form filling yesterday and caught up on paperwork I had been meaning to do for ages. And I came home from work today to find OH had tidied, cleaned, and hoovered the whole living room and bedroom! We can see bits of floor we haven't seen for months and even the hotspots have been tidied up! I'm so happy! Now I really must clean the bathroom and do some washing up because we have some friends coming over tmrw, and I don't think I can ban them from using the loo!
The trouble is, I have severe depression, and life is such a struggle that when I am at home I'm usually so tired from dealing with my emotions and the stresses of life that I don't feel up to doing much around the house. Even the washing up gets left until we don't have anything left to use and then I will start grappling with it. Disgusting I know, and I hate living like this. But I don't seem to have enough mental strength or energy to deal with everything I would like to.:o

I can relate to the depression thing too hun!
The house gets out of control cos you only just have enough energy to deal with the basics, then you get more down cos you are living in a chaotic mess! Deep joy! Big hugs and baby steps all the way! ((()))

DD has just had a friend round. Stayed for tea. Gone - no word of thanks! Didn't even say goodbye to me!

I have had similar experiences and always double check with my DD's that they say thanks as I tell them its one small word but will make a big difference.

Oh !!!!!! it - I've done nothing since coming home from work (except wash up, load DW, cook tea and pull the washing out of the WM, hang up a few bit of it) but I am shattered and so will finish hanging up washing and then go to bed.

dont beat yourself up over this rosepink honey - depression is very hard to deal/cope with but you are not alone here - ther are others on this thread who have it too - so do what you can - dont play catch up - if you missa room then it will come around again next week so dont worry about it - you did well yesterday doing your paperwork - none of us like doing paperwork so well done to you:T - you see that was a success!!!!
Its great that Oh helps you - that can make all the difference!
A lot of us work in 30 minute chunks but that is maybe too much for you - why dont you try to do something for 5 or 10 mins a nd then take a break - hopefully that way you wont get so physically tired - and use a timer - when the bell goes - you stop!

I haven't managed too much of today's list.

I've done the other load in the WM for the bedding that I couldn't do yesterday but then as I was clearing up after dinner and putting extra portions of chilli away ready to freeze - I managed to drop the chilli all over the kitchen floor which meant that I had to completely clean the kitchen since it looked like someone had been sick (or diarrhoea) absolutely everywhere. It was all over the floor, the walls, the door, the cupboards - eughh!!

Still the kitchen is positively shining now so it matches the sink......
awh hugs QTD thats a real bummer - lost food and an awful mess to clear up and your time taking doing it!!!
At least there is a silver lining as you said - a lovley shiny kitchen!!!
    have a drink - I think you deserve one!!!:rotfl:
