@eco21 - do you know if being a mobile broadband customer on PAYG qualifies me for the Broadband discount?0
-
You get the discount if you have an o2 payg mobile (or contract mobile).
With payg you need to top up at least £10 every 3 months to get the discount continuously.0 -

But you might be able to get a deal if you get both home broadband and pay monthly mobile broadband I think but not payg (Saw it advertised before not sure if it is still around)0 -
So… I finally have a working line at my new flat after placing my order with BT in November! (Grrr…!)
I tried to order my O2 broadband at my new address, but have now been told I can only have the Access package.
My new flat is about ½ a mile from my old one, where I had O2 standard, and the first seven digits of my phone number are the same.
It’s the same postcode – London SW3 - South Kensington exchange, and I thought all of central London would be covered by now anyway.
I did a postcode and number check on a website (forget which one), which told me I should be able to have pretty much any service; Orange, O2, Virgin etc.
What’s the deal? This doesn’t seem right."Always carry a firearm east of Aldgate, Watson."0 -
Why not get them to double check for you?
(Samknows is a website that gives specific details for each phone number/exchange.)0 -
I was trying to order online, but I phoned them up this morning to check and they told me the same thing. The bloke just said it's down to local availability and someone he knows who lives accross the street having different availability to him...
However... it's definitely the same exchange as before, LLU on O2 since 2005!

- Thanks for that website, Quentin.
It's a bit weird..."Always carry a firearm east of Aldgate, Watson."0 -

No.
But if you go on a £14.69/month mobile broadband contract, you get them both from £14.69/month (for the first 4 months, then £19.57/month).

I think Be/O2 also have a limit on how far you can be from the exchange (6km I think) so that could be the issue blacknosugar0

Thanks for the tip, but I've just checked - I'm 300m (!) from the exchange so it can't be that.
I'll have to call them again later, but at least I'm armed with a lot more information now. I'm worried though... as I said before, I've had problems getting this line."Always carry a firearm east of Aldgate, Watson."0 -
Also if it is a new line it might take a few days for their database to update0
