Hi,
I've just finished eating a bowl of trifle sat at the PC in my PJs, after a busy day. I had my Outlaws come to our house today, so ended up making loads of food last night and this morning, whilst OH cleaned the house. I did cheat though, and get the Outlaws to eat off paper plates (to save on washing up), as there were nine of us in total.
I also had to redo my HM marmalade, as version one did not set properly last night (looked like orange sauce). When I reboiled version one, with some more preserving sugar I think I have finally come up trumps. I was very OS and made it from 9lb of satsumas my friend was going to bin. Anyhow, suppose I had better go and finish tidying up.

Good evening and ((hugs)) to all who need them. Today we had home made bean burgers with polenta and cabbage for tea and a sort of pastry cheese and tomato ish experiment thing for lunch. Tomorrow we'll have sandwiches for lunch and then a soya mince, carrot and gravy pie, Yorkshire puddings and cabbage for tea. Got a cauliflower as well, so will have cauliflower cheese on Monday I think.

Oh , BARGAINBIRD :T not long now for you.
DD2 and SiL 2b have been on a hypno birthing course, it was then she deceided to have a home birth, she was worried incase the MW objected but to her delight MW said it was a good idea as hosps are a bit iffy if she wanted to do her own thing.
I promised DD2 I would not dash around ripping up sheets and boiling water. Only because she doesn't live here any more, but suspect I will.
OYSTERCATCHER, Wow what an amazing experiance for you, the first and the last. You are obviously high in demand. Emmmmm, what are you doing on the 14thof March?

Home made burgers.
Ingredients.
Dried adzuki beans
Dried haricot beans
Tomato puree
Dried herbs
Dried onions
Oats
Carrot.
Soak the beans overnight and then boil them for an hour. Then place in a food processor (you could just mash them as well I think) with a handful of oats, a tube of tomato puree, some dried onions, a raw grated carrot and some dried herbs. Whizz everything up and then shape the mixture into burger patties and place them in the oven to bake. You could try frying or grilling them but not sure how well they'd keep together if you do.
They taste nice, but you might want to add salt or pepper to season them more. I didn't, but next time I make them I think I'll replace the herbs with some mustard and grated cheese for a stronger taste.0 -
Evening all :hello:
Well its been a busy old day again today, bloomin cold too brrrr.
got home about an hour ago and just had Pizza, not home made but yummm its our Saturday treat, I need something like that on Saturday after cooking/cleaning, for my Mum at her flat, then going over to Mil's flat(40mins away) and doing the same for her and she wanted the Christmas decs taken down so we did that as well.
Then visited our friend Jo who was away for Christmas in Spain, and, well you know how it is we got chatting and ended up staying for about 3 hours
It was good to see her though, it was the first Christmas since her DH died so her family got together and they all went to Spain in a villa.

Evening all
That reminds me Powie, I have DS coming round for dinner tomorrow, I better make him a trifle, it's his favourite.
I finally got round to opening this mornings post, there was a letter from Barclay card, they are putting my limit up from £500 to £3500!!!!!
I can't imagine why, I put £17 on it earlier in the year but haven't used it since. Fortunately I won't be tempted to use it, I may phone & ask them to reduce it back down.
Hugs Hester

Hi all
Got up later than normal at 10am today and just chilled until Mrs B came down about 11 and said come on lets get these decs down and sort some re-cycling out and sorted also some paperback books for the re-cycle book thingy at Morrisons tommorrow, we want to get a new carpet for the front room so ventured out at minus 2.5C and when got there (to decent chaps shop) found he had been closed all day!! so went to try and get onto a retail park to check out Carpetright and couldnt move for traffic so gave up and treated Mrs B to a Beefeater meal which was pretty awful, have just complained by email to their head office! Then down to see Maisie - my daughters best friend little girl (18 months) who played with us and he new toys!Came home, poured a drink and since then just been trawling the net - oh and thank god the decs are down and put away for another year, just heard by text DD1 has agreed to view a house next week, woopy doo - and keep fingers crossed!!!!
Speak soon to you all

I just wanted to pop on quickly (not that I'm addicted to this forum or anything) to say that my Dinner was yummy this evening so perhaps my none-productive 2nd OS day was saved by my efforts at Dinner Time.
We had Cheesey Apple Pork Steaks, basically I cooked the pork in the oven and just as they were done, spread some apple sauce over them before gratering a little cheese on top. Then I stuck the whole lot under the grill til the cheese had melted. We had them with hm oven chips and fried mushrooms.
It was one of the nicest meals I've had in ages and it all cooked my me..I'm very proud of myself for thinking up something, which may sound very daft to you seasoned OS's.
Anyway, Night Night everyone, see you tomorrow. xxx:love:11th March 2010- Got engaged to my amazing fiance, planning our wedding for 20120 -
