It's nice to go with spicy things like chilli (just what I am going to do tonight actually), or stirred into curries to make them creamier.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0

You could use it to make a creamy sauce for the chicken pie. It's really good to cook with because it doesn't split.
If you do a search on www.deliaonline.co.uk, you'll find lots of recipes for sauces made with creme fraiche.0 -
I used it the other day in Delia's beef stroganoff recipe. I tried some on its own and it is very similar to Total's strained Greek yoghurt. So much so that the tub nearly did not make it into the stoganoff.0

I fry some chicken breast and mushrooms, add a clove of garlic then the creme fraiche, stir it all, season, then add some leeks. Serve with rice, its lovely.

I use it to make chicken and pea pasta.
Put pasta on to boil
Fry 1 small onion, diced with chicken bits, add 1-2 cloves of crushed garlic when the chicken is almost done.
Add handfull of peas to the pasta to cook
Add 1/2 pint of chicken stock to chicken and reduce by half, stir in about 3/4 - 1 dessert spoons of dried mint, and 1 tsp of english mustard.
stir the CF into the chicken, drain the pasta and mix all together.
This goes down a treat in our house everytime:jAll comments and advice given is my own opinion and does not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

Started healthy diets, replacing puddings with fruit things, got creme fraiche but now I dono what to do with it. Do you whip it or add sugar or what ? LOL:D - I have loads of frozen rasps and some kiwis.0

If you want a healthy pudding you might like to try putting a dollop of your creme fraiche on top of some chopped fruit - your kiwis are ideal. I like to sprinkle some muesli on top of the creme fraiche as well. There's no need to whip it and you definitely don't need sugar.
You can also use creme fraiche as an alternative to custard or ice cream - nice dolloped on top of warm apple pie.
If you want to be even healthier you may want to consider replacing the creme fraiche with natural yoghurt.
Frozen rasps are nice blended with a banana and some yoghurt for a smoothie.0 -
Hi mardatha,
There's an earlier thread with suggestions for using creme fraiche so I've added your post to it to keep all the ideas together.
